Considering how defensive the mother was, it can't be that rare. Males killing children of their own species is relatively common in nature.

They don't enjoy each other's company. When they cannot hunt, they tolerate each other and do mock battles, but the rest of the time, they stay away from each other.

This is an interesting video. Polar bears are becoming more extinct, and more needs to be done to save them.
Covid19 helped us out
watching nat geo wild on tv about polar bears. they said a bear can cover up to 40,000 square miles a year, but then they get all excited saying how a bear can travel as much as 30 miles a day. Um, do the math, not even close. at that rate, most they could cover in a year is 10,000 a year. cmon man.
