Hey man. Enjoyed the video. I’m a newbie farmer and have some old overgrown pastures I want to rejuvenate so trying to learn about cover crops. Question for ya...I wanna grow crimson clover in one of my fields; after I disc up the ground and broadcast seed should I run the disc back over the field to help push some of the seed into the dirt? Or is this an unnecessary step?
Hey great question! You don’t need to disk over the ground once the seed is spread but I found my germination rates are better if I do. I’d recommend getting a roller, cultipacker or even a drag harrow to firm up and level that seed bed 1/4in is the desired depth I plant my clover.
