- I was washing the dishes one day while listening to this song then decided I should animate Luz to it, so here we are. It took a little longer than I anticipated, but I'm so happy with the end result!!!

Alright time for the serious comment. Luna, this was so fucking gorgeous to watch and it matched Luz perfectly. It broke my heart to witness her feel down and have to leave. I loved it so much and you are nothing but an amazing god. The transition from her and her friends to her standing alone was such a shattering thing to see and when she left I died just- hhhhh keep up the good work!

Jolly Well actually I’ve been thinking and I’ve come up with a theory. Maybe instead of Luz going home, her mom comes to the island on accident. I feel like there could be an episode where Luz’s mom sees Owlbert or she somehow gets led to the door and accidentally comes to the demon realm and sees Luz or Eda or both. Then either Luz has to go back home or her mom sees how far she’s gotten and allows her to stay at the Boiling Isles as long as she visits once in a while. I mean just think for a second; what if when Luz charges her phone or uses the portal Eda has for wifi, her mom just waltzes through the portal? Idk I’m not really the best at theories ;-; but tell me what you think if you want. The only thing wrong with the “Next Summer” theory is if Luz chooses to keep the Boiling Isles a secret from her mom. The reason this could be a problem is because Luz’s mom might question why she wants to go back to the summer camp. But at the same time “Creepy Luz” might come into the picture. Oof idk

I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be like Gravity Falls, ya know a “Summer is finally over time for the fun to end and say goodbye to the amazing relationships you built ip over summer haha 😃”. Honestly it could be like a “Visit every summer” type thing if Luz chooses to tell her mom and if her mom has a good reaction that could happen. We also have to keep in mind that Luz has a real life, she has school, she has a real home, she has a mother, she can’t just leave all of that behind because she wants to live her fantasy. Maybe instead of the “As long as you visit” theory it could be the “Every summer” theory because, now that I really think about it, the “As long as you visit” theory has a lot of problems. One of the main problems is her life. Her witch training could get in the way of her school life or vise versa and that could be a lot on Luz’s plate considering that she’s just a teenager. It really all depends on how her mother will react because, I know comics aren’t cannon but, I saw a comic and it was basically Luz and her mom having an argument because Luz just kind of ran away to another realm and lied about being at the summer camp. Luz’s mom seems very loving but she also kinda sent her daughter to a “Prison Camp” because she was a weeb. Idk like I said I’m bad with theories and the more I make the more I realize a lot of them don’t make sense

Luz is a human and what us humans tend to do is, when we don’t like the reality of a situation we block out the reality and create on of our own. That’s why if you were to go up to your friends and say “your dog is dead” they’ll say “WHAT?!” or “What?! No! You’re lying to me!” because they don’t like the fact that their dog is dead, so they choose not to believe it. Sometimes if you ask someone “How are you so good at dieting?” they’ll say something like “Oh I just imagine the healthy food is junk food to make it seem better.” It’s just psychology. But idk
So she dreamed up Amity's feelings for her, and then was somehow also oblivious to it? ,:/

I hate it because of how great it is. The fact of that song with this show how bubbly the characters look clashing so well with the sadness, the beautiful frame. Just everything is such high quality that it hits you right in the heart and it doesn't matter how long you prepare it still makes you cry.

Ya' now, I theorized this awhile back at like episode 5. Luz always acts so bubbly and cheerful.... But that smile could be fake, and it's hiding all her pain and sorrow. And that she's scared to tell anyone how she feels so she hides it with her smile. I genuinely feel that, cause I do that a lot as well... But it still hurts me to think that she's actually mildly depressed and is just hiding it.

Well, I mean, the portal to the boiling isles is in front of her house. You would think that Eda would bring her back through the portal for the next summer. Luz has a way to go to the isles and back so there is no reason that she wouldn't go back.

Let's see, Luz can stay in a place where shes happy and accepted, working toward her witch goal with friends/gf. Only she'd have to give up her mom, who wants her to be "normal". Who she'd have to go back to along with a world who thinks shes an underachieving loser. Choice is obvious to me, stay and maybe come back to earth when your over 21. That way her Mom can't legally do anything to her and shes established a life in the Isles.
Her mum still doesn't know that she's at the Boiling Isles, so she would be distraught for her daughter to be basically erased from the Earth for five or more years
@@Lucien_M I agree, to a point. But I believe, sometimes people must make hard decisions to do what is right for them. Even if it means cutting people out of their lives. While I do understand where Camilla is coming from, regardless. She doesn't support her daughter emotionally, nor does she communicate with Luz. Her whole demeanor is "my way or nothing", and yes she is a working mother. Still she is not equipped to handle a bright, creative girl like Luz. And doesn't want to help channel her energy into something productive. All she wants is a dull, boring and normal child who is like everyone else hence why she sent Luz to that stupid camp. Fortunately, Luz had that huge stroke of luck that took her to the Boiling Isles. Where she made her own life at 14/15 on her own terms. I think if Luz went back and told Camilla what happened, forget camp. That woman would send her to a mental asylum to be strapped to a gurney, that is is Luz couldn't get away in time. So in my opinion, I think it would be better for everyone if Luz stayed where she was. And maybe dropped the occasional letter to her mother until graduation. But that's just me.
That’s a good AU but I don’t think that Disney would just show a 14 y/o abandoning her mother like that. Maybe Camilla would join Luz on the boiling isles and live in the Owl House. Or maybe it would be like a shared custody thing? Eda does have access to the portal at all times 🧐

WHY IS THIS NOT THAT POPULAR AND WHY IS THIS SONG NOT ON SPOTIFY?
The song probably isn't on Spotify because about 40% of the song's content is either references to or direct quotes from various songs by Dodie (a lot of material from When, reference to 6/10, bassline mimics Sick of Losing Soulmates, just to name a few). My guess is it's probably an homage of sorts? Which isn't to say it's not a great song on its own. No idea why the animatic isn't more popular, cause it's fantastic.
