It really makes me laugh when people hate on Steve. You realize he's only 17. You also realize that his mother was killed executioner style in front of him in their own house by Umbrella agents. He was dragged to an island full of Umbrella's prisoners, probably filled with nasty criminals and war mongers for who knows HOW long. It's basically stated in some notes that people have died there on death row and were subject to torture. ( Notice the barcode BRAND on his arm and the collar slapped on his neck with the prisoner number on it. )Then, he has to deal with the outbreak of a virus and killing his own father who mutated/zombiefied to save Claire. THEN all the bullshit with the Ashfords stalking them throughout the game -- only to become a monster himself and nearly kill the girl he was trying to escape with. Okay, yeah. He gets a free pass for the occasional whining because that's what teenagers do. Additionally? It's highly possible for him to return since Wesker was the one who took his body and used the T-Veronica sample in it. You never see him actually be disposed of.

I personally think that a story with Steve coming back from the Organization, but still struggling with the virus due to the brain damage, could provide for a good closing for him. However, with RE7 going Silent Hill, I doubt that it's happening.

The writers said years ago, that after CV a whole plot happened with Steve, making Chris and Wesker bigger enemies, etc. But the lead writer died (the lead writer of the series up to that point), and only left an outline. So they skipped ahead with 4 out of respect for him. Were officially not getting to see what happened between Clair and Steve.
This is one of the few games that Capcom did right. The music remixing and composition is just fantastic, the story, albeit abridged was still nice, and the graphics are really well executed. Please Capcom, do this again, I know you can!
Oh my god, this music is SOOOO EPIC. I fuckin´ love it. It´s a pity you don´t fight Steve in the original game, you just run away, the music deserves it. This part of the history in this game is more epic, in the original one is more sad. Even the reaction of Claire is more Epic in this game "Alexia must be stopped". Nice. In the other she cries a lot. But in the CV Steve got time to say "I love you" and he didn´t meet Chris. This is a spin-off after all.

On CV I was annoyed by steve from the start then actually ended liking him in the end of the game. (a little). But in Darkside, he was more mature... well in terms of voice and was more cool and badass,which caused me to like him all the way (certainly not gay) This particular ost for him gives off a badass yet sorrowful vibe.. knowing that one awesome character of RE and a friend that's been with almost until the end has become one of those hideous monsters and just another puppet.

Interesting fact -- I believe this soundtrack was co-composed (this track being one) from the CODE: Veronica composer, who was uninvolved with the franchise almost entirely between the two. Since CODE: Veronica was easily one of the most intense scores of the franchise, it does make sense that his return would mark a new high-point for the franchise musically.
Steve was VERY annoying, but really, so was OG Leon in RE4. RE4R made the new Leon not so teenager smart-assy, and I hope if they do a CV Remake, they'll give Steve an appropriate makeover too and get rid of the incessant whining.

I cant believe the big change steve did all he wanted was to protect claire and showed a cute side to her but also mean side but he did care for claire and the end makes me feel bad for claire since she is lonely they would have been good partners since leon is more of a serious character and does not really help claire because claire did not need steves help but he always tried to save her so this game put hard feels on me since its the only resident evil game that looks like real survival horror it shows emotions and there to strong for me.
+Raul Palacios It's a cross between RE1 and RE4 at sea. It closes the gap between 4 and 5. A good game, and the second one, while inferior, is still pretty good.
This would be good theme for the final battle with Pennywise in the new IT movie, if someone could, please make a video of that final battle with this playing in the background. In my opinion, I think this fits perfectly with that scene. Though, be sure to put that "I don't own these" disclaimer, so you don't get called out for copyright infringement.
