- Step by step video on how to replace the clutch master cylinder and clutch pedal spring on a 2003 Ford Focus SVT. This video should cover 1st generation models from 2000-2007 and also 2nd generation models from 2008-2010. Ford used this same clutch master cylinder throughout all these years on the Ford Focus. Clutch master cylinder was purchased from Amazon and I have provided a link below.

Jesus man.. this is it. This is the only video. The most detailed one. I needed this bad. Thanks a lot for sharing it with us bud !
I’m impressed with the finesse you use when removing all the plastic parts, and your patience.
Thanks for taking the time in this video!
Right I would have broken at least three of them
This is probably the most clear step by step video on this. Well done, and thanks mate!!
Это точно:)
This is the best video for this you actually used tools that most people have access to but you made it look so easy I had to stop every now and then till feel sorry for my self
Thank you for an awesome video. My son helped me replace a clutch master cylinder in my 2005 Ford Focus by using your video.
Glad I was able to help you guys out. I greatly appreciate the super thanks definitely helps to keep the channel going. Thanks again
Я тоже с сыном собираюсь поменять этот цилиндр:)
In the middle of replacing my master cylinder in my 07 ford focus. I watched this video about 10 times thank y9u
Bro you saved me 1k! Your video was precise in detailed step by step instruction on this repair! Thank you!
Glad I was able to help thanks for the positive feedback brother!
This is a fantastic video! My car hasn't had that return spring in years 😅 probably broke from the leaking master cylinder LOL
Great video mate, awesome work getting the camera into some of those spots. Thanks alot 👍
Just purchased an svt. Your video is by far the best. I failed to bleed mine today but I did it like a normal brake job. I will try your method and hope to see results.
Concrats on the new purchase, love my SVT Focus. Yeah I tried bleeding it like the brakes at first as well with no success. So the way I do it on the video seemed to work the best. Kind of a poor design by Ford.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE yea I bought the car last Tuesday. Has 61k on it but the pedal had alot of play and disengaged at the bottom. Then this morning it didn't want to shift. I will try this tomorrow and I went ahead and order the master you used as well. Right now it has the iron master in it.
thankyou mate for this video, it's a bit of a fiddly job to do , hey ? but you're video is really good in showing every detail on what to do , thanks, your video gives me more confidence to tackle this job on this type of car , my car would be similar as I have mk 6 fiesta, cheers again mate , very enjoyable video, from Tony from England
Cheers for the vid bud. Saved my arse today. Luckily we have right hand drive, so a little less pissin about.
Wow the best of the best by far on showing step by step. Thank you brother.
Thanks brother, couldnt do it without your video. ❤
Can I ask you a stupid question?
The piece that you unhook at 23:15 from the metal stud coming off the pedal...what is keeping it from coming off under normal circumstances?
My clutch works but that piece falls off. It has a lot of wiggle room. Just slides clean off when the clutch is engaged.
We’re you able to figure it out? There should be these like plastic pieces inside that round part that spring outward when you snap that on.
This is a great video you did a great job help me and my dad out.
My pedal is still loose and I can't even change gears, everything is installed properly, do you have any advice?
Sounds like you still have air in the system have you tried bleeding it again?
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE i fixed it, repeated the bleeding process and my old car now runs like new. I can't thank you enough for this tutorial, I've fallen in hard times and an expensive Mechanic was not an option, I did this with zero knowledge, I used your video for guidance, you saved my butt, thanks man.
@@dubon6372 Glad to hear it helped you out. Hope things get better for you.
Those 4 nuts that hold the pedal assembly on are a 13mm on my 04 zx3
Hey brotha do you know what that ground plug down by the pedals does for the car? I was doing this change out noticed my car didn't have one..
Not really sure man I’ll have to take another look at it.
Thanks for sharing this video, need to do mine.
All done now, Thanks again.
Got a question, what do I need to do to replace that bottom line the connects into the back of the master slave, mine rusted through and I don't know if Ford sells it?
I have a question. If the Cylinder is out that means there's no pressure on the clutch to reach the engage switch right?
Yes you are correct. When the slave cylinder goes out the clutch pedal will have no pressure to disengage the pressure plate from the clutch.
@BLUE COLLAR GARAGE should I get a slave cylinder too or does that come with the master cylinder setup?
What’s your pedal doing right now? Are you having issues shifting the transmission?
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE it won't let me shift cause it won't reach the engage button
@@AllGsReact do you have any fluid leaking like mine was? Most likely the master cylinder is going bad. The clutch master cylinder sends fluid to the slave cylinder. I would try replacing the master cylinder first because in order to change out the slave cylinder you would need to drop the whole transmission and then at that point might as well replace the clutch.
I can’t get the bolts that go through the pedal housing into the master cylinder to line up, the tabs won’t seat from the cylinder. Any tips?
Sorry for the late reply we’re you able to bolts through the pedal housing?
Thanks!
2:30 зачем воздушный фильтр разбирать? Там целиком корпус с сёдел снимается, только патрубок отсоединить и всё. В остальном всё позитивно и информативно👍
Perfect!! Thank you
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I just changed my slave cylinder and clutch only to figure out it was this part that had failed.
This looks easier than removing the dam transmission, lol.
Thank you, mate! Appreciated!
not sure if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf during the lockdown =)
@Brock Braylen Yup, have been using instaflixxer for months myself :D
Excelent Thank you so much
So i cant get that slave line back into the master cylinder… what should i do?
Like it’s not snapping into place?
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE What is the part the Bleeder screw goes into? My Garage mechanic stripped the screw and the piece it screws into?
Nice video can you tell me how long did it take to bleed you system
I'd say took probably about 5 minutes or so.
Does the foam looking piece matter
I'm sure it would work fine without. It probably helps protect the plastic from rubbing and helps create a noise and temperature barrier from the firewall.
Calidad de video muy técnico
Can you give condensed tool list you used?
7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 14mm sockets and wrench, flathead screwdriver, standard pick for the line clips and maybe a set of needle nose pliers and that really about it I believe.
If you perform this at cold temps, all the plastics clips break :(
U didnt show how u got to the bolt on the firewall that hold the mc in place. Im still tryna figure it out
Not sure which bolt your talking about because only thing holding the Mc is the clip that slides over the bolt behind the Mc on the firewall.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE and after that it just pops out? I did slide the clip over but feels like something is still holding it. Im at work r n but IMO gonna rewatch the video and finish it when I get off. Thanks for the video man. It helped alot
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE definitely got a subscribe from me. I own a 2003 focus svt. Doing my clutch and slave and master cyl
@@jonboy6517 yeah it should be just that clip and then of course the two lines holding it on.
@@jonboy6517 thanks for the sub. I need to do my clutch as well sooner or later and will probably shoot a video on it. Congrats on the svt purchase.
Excellent video thanks
That back plate with the gold nuts is 13mm not 14 by the way
Nice
Great….this is gonna be fun. Sigh.
awesome video
Like!!!
I got a Perfection Clutch brand , the plastic arm on yours is plastic. On mine and is metal ! And has metal elsewhere. When they wear bad like mine did , the arm will deflect sideways so bad it will pop off of the clutch pedal nub. You will be stuck in traffic without being able to disengage the clutch. Got to a parking lot using the starter to propel the car.
Until I could fix mine to keep arm on nub found a just right one-way fastener like they use on fenders. Circular with teeth to hold onto nub.
Good to know thanks for the info 👍
***The CLUTCH and the BRAKES use the same reservoir. They do NOT use the same master cylinder.
My bottom line is rusted to the plastic. The older I get the more I hate driving old beaters lol
I feel you, I don’t want the payment of a new vehicle but also hate it when something isn’t a quick fix on my 20-30 year old car 😂
Im after rigth hand dririve.
