I love how transparent you are, your honesty and willingness to address what you know your viewers are thinking is what makes you one of, if not THE, best wig mentor out there. Its awesome you do the comparisons, especially similar colors from different brands. Hoping to see what other brand colors are comparable to Belle Tress's Mocha with Cream. I LOVE the color, its my current go-to, but also hoping to branch out to some other brand styles while keeping the color more consistent because I am not yet where I admit its a wig, especially at work. 😬

I love the lace front because it has more of the darker hair mixed in. Great review, and I do think Ellen Wille is frequently more expensive than similar styles by other manufacturers. She just has one color I can’t seem to find a match for by other companies. Thanks for your review!

You look GORGOIS! I love the color, on my phone's 5G monitor, it appears to be somewhere between SHADED BISCUIT & PALM SPRINGS BLONDE. MAYBE BECAUSE THE HILIGHTED AREA APPEARS BRIGHTER & QUITE FLATTERING. "ECLAT" brings the BEST up-lighting to your BEAUTIFUL face!
I do also see the jair falls into a more random curl pattern, making it naturally pretty. Wonderfully candid review as always...It is unfortunately out of my reach, but I do want to try ELLEN WILLE wigs sometime. Looks like you have another favorite.

Dear Taz, I’ve put off asking this question for fear of sounding stupid but, I just can’t wait any longer….. what little hair I have is being painfully ripped out every time I wear a wig!
I use wig tape to secure my wigs because that’s what I’ve had the most secure success with, and I CANNOT afford to go lax on security since I live in an often windy and hot/humid climate, plus I’m terrified of slippage.
First I wear a stocking-type cap over my hair, then a wig grip(which doesn’t reeeally help me as greatly as a lot of other people say - grip), and finally, I attach wig tape around the perimeter of my forehead, sides, and back near the occipital bone.
The problem is: since I’m placing the tape around the edges of my hairline (half on/half off the skin and hair), when I go to remove that tape it RIPS MY HAIR TO PIECES, or, I end up having to CUT the tape OUT of my hair/ head!!! Some places are paper thin with hair and it’s AWFUL. But, I don’t understand WHERE on the head to place all that tape because if I place it all down on my skin ( especially for short wig styles & in the front where there is lace) , it will be in plain sight of everybody.
What am I doing wrong?
WHERE does one place tape around one’s head?
** I thought about maybe placing it ONTOP OF my stocking wig cap, however I thought to myself: What good would taping a wig to a cap be in the event that cap were to slide back or off your head?? The wig and everything would slide off with the cap! Don’t you have to tape the wig directly to your HEAD??
P. S. I’ve tried It Stays before but it doesn’t hold in the back and it’s too hot & humid where I live to trust it 2/3 out of the year. I live in Texas.
Please help tell me where to place the tape so I don’t have to rip out my hair. I’ve tried using warm water to remove it but that only helps partially part of the time.

I have had fab luck with those silicone wide wig grips. They are Great and Totally unnoticeable. You can get many places . I got mine on Amazon

"Make friends with your curls", yep, you sure have to do that! Good way to put it. I originally missed that this was heat friendly. It is a lovely style and the color surely does look like Shaded Biscuit. As far as price, I simply cannot afford this one, to be honest, much as I like the look of it. Anyone who can afford it will be happy to have one of these, I am sure. Retailers have to price it as the manufacturer sets it of course. I have always felt that EW priced its units higher than other comparable styles in other brands. JMHO. Sadly, though cost of goods is going up, income is not. It *is* one of the most attractive styles I have seen from EW in quite some time, I must say, but then, I love EP though I have not had one yet. The color choices are a bit skimpy, as you say. Well, this wig just looks outstanding ! I’m in love.
Very pretty. Could the fibers being HD make the difference in the color? Thank you for hitting all the “elephants”, the lack of color variety with Ellen Wille is a real issue. I own several EW styles (more than any other) but I’m moving back towards other brands because I’m transitioning from medium brunette and she doesn’t have great in between colors. Idk what she’s doing on her sizing either. I’m afraid the price on this one has knocked it way out of my ball park. LOL But it’s gorgeous.
Great commentary, thank you Rachel! The HD fiber may have something to do with the color... Jon Renau HD fibers are much different in terms of color. Soo pricey. I am not sure it will survive against the competition, but I hope I'm wrong! XOXO

Thank you, Taz, for such an honest review on the product and price points. You broached several issues with extreme tact and grace. Also, I must comment on your shoes. You seem to be a fan of wedges, as am I. Due to a severe car accident that broke both my lower extremities in multiple places, I can ONLY wear wedge shoes. So, when I see someone frequently wear wedges, I tend to get all googly-eyed. So, besides great wigs, you also have wonderful shoes :)

@@TAZSWIGCLOSET FYI, I’m a retired nurse and read a plethora of medical journals. Back in 2019, I read an article by a podiatrist who said that the best shoes for women to wear are WEDGES 🥳🎉💖. Flats and spiky heels aren’t good for feet, legs, or back. Who knew we’d be “medically fashionable?!?!” 🙏🏼♥️

She's a beauty! Nice to see this style modeled, but that's as far as I will ever go with Eclat! Good grief, charging that much for a wig that is not human hair seems almost unethical. One also needs to factor in that the fibers being HD will not last as long as regular synthetic. Oh, well. She is pretty.

In addition to this not being available in reds, it's not available in silvers/greys. EW fits me wonderfully but the lack of color choices is an issue. I've also noticed that of the few silvers/greys offered by EW, it is nearly always in a very short style, which leaves out a large segment of ladies who want medium or longer length wigs.

Do you think this is a little bit brighter than Shaded The Biscuit on the Style? I have this color on drive and I love it. I’ve noticed that some shaded biscuit shades have been darker and I like the brighter. I know they do the color application based on the style but I’m all about light and bright and neutral to ash blonde. I love EW‘s heat defiant fibers.

Gosh! It just doesn’t seem right for them to push the prices up so much when so many people have been out of work and have accumulated a lot of debt because of it. I can tell you without a doubt, it will be a long time before I’ll ever be willing or even able to spend over $400 for a wig!! Especially something that has only a 6 month shelf life at best. 😟

Hi Taz! What a beautiful wig! Looks so natural on you. My head is small like yours. I can't feel confident if the wig is big on me. I will pay the price, if it fits well and I can be confident. I don't know why all brands can't ALWAYS offer petite and average. Many designer clothing lines do !! They need to listen to the ones who wear them. Butter their bread.

I think the heat friendly fiber from both brands are very similar in terms of longevity. I get the best fit from this piece.. Raquel Welch runs very large on me. Hope this helps! XOXO
