What a mystery this is, or a bloody silly prank? I have no idea whats gone on. Wen I got back from holiday the water had dropped dramatically. So I investiagte (well sort of). 1 confused Johnny here, but happy 🙃
My koi pond loves a little drama while Im away on holiday. As I'm writing this Im getting more confused just as to where the water went from my koi pond.

Yes big man. Best to double check the obvious, ball joints, slide valves, rubbers and glued joints. Cracks on pipes? Check your UV connections and rubbers. Tempest, valves top and bottom. Also could be your skimmer. Check it's welds and overflow. Doubt it's anything to do with the fibreglass and pipework underground. Good luck pal 👊

Hope you get to the bottom of it mate. As BobbyKnox says, I think you need to leave it as long as it takes, to see just where the level stops dropping, to get an idea of what and where it may be leaking…..🤔
As you have said, it will probably be where the algae line has formed when you were away tho.

Cheers Andy mate and yeah its stayed steady since return TBH. I did fiddle a bit with the skimmer when I was back (the overflow part) so maybe that was a little loose I really have no idea but thankfully water is maintaining its level. Cheers mate

Without being there to have a look. That mark on the window is a telltale sign the actual pond is leaking not the the pipework or filters. What I would do which is easier this time of year because we don't get much evaporation. I'd tape a ruler to the window. Don't put any top up water in for as long as it takes (could be 2/3 weeks) take measurements everyday and if stops dropping in exactly the same place everytime. The pond is leaking. If it drops past that mark and keeps going it's probably the pipework or filters. Skimmers are prone to leak around the edges aswell😢
