Thanks for your comment Nathaniel! People tend to worship in different ways; some raise their hands up in the air, some just stand and sing, and some people even dance. The worship environment at my particular church is different from Hillsong or Bethel church in that a lot of our congregation isn't comfortable expressing themselves in worship the way these other churches do. A lot of our congregation is older too, so while they appreciate and sing the songs, they aren't used to raising their hands in worship. Hope that makes sense!
