    I have five of these Dr. Prepare 100 AH batteries. They all are working very nicely. I like the light weight of about 22.6 lbs. and the good carrying handle. For the price of $199.00 dollars, these are a great value---best I have ever found!

    Very nice battery and great price too especially considering a functional low temp charge cutoff! You’re knocking out some great videos this week! From shade tolerance solar to a battery tear down. Love the content! ♥️

    I've been using various Dr Prepare lipos in my trailer for 1 year now. Still going strong. Quality batteries, great price. 10 year warranty (!) when you buy direct from their site.

    Well, I was pleased to see the quality inside of the battery. The very first thing I noticed was large gauge wire. That is the first clue on build quality. The build quality looked to be on parr with high-end batteries out on the market. I was wondering about what kind of cells they are using. I am going to try to find out at their website and see. It's definitely a good video on the build quality. It also shows they have the components inside that they claim. Look forward to seeing more testing with these batteries.

    I'm thinking you should have cut open the old one. Not the one they sent you.

    So not worth a flip in Alaska (low temp) and not good for Arizona (high temp ) ?? is it built with 18650's ? I'll check them out thou !

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  7 місяців тому +2

      Low temp protection to prevent charging and damage to cells below 32° and high temp trigger would not activate under any normal ambient temperature range. Prismatic cells in this battery.
      18650s are cylindrical and commonly lithium cobalt not LiFePO4!

    Nice job!
    I can tell they are prismatic cells, but which kind? Possibly EVE cells?

      Thanks!
      Can’t tell the mfg of the cells, I didn’t split the pack down any further yet! I’ll try to get you a verified answer on the cell manufacturer!

    Great video. I just received my 1st one of these. I am a user and will not tear it down. I have an eco worth 10am LI smart charger. The Dr. Prepare was at 13.23 volts and after charging to full per the charger it reads 13.83 per my voltmeter. I was looking for 14.6 volts. Any thoughts? Thanks.

      How long did you charge?
      The batteries are only shipped 30-50% full. Probably would take 5-6 hours minimum to charge to full if new out of the box. The charger will hit 14.6 and the current will taper to 0 amp. Then battery is 100% full and voltage will settle to around 13.6-13.8 at rest an hour or so after removing charge.
      Hope this is helpful.

      @@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD Thanks for the reply. I did glimpse a 14.2 before going back to 13.8. Maybe I missed the 14.6. I did initially charge for at least 6 hours. I am currently 20 hours into running a dorm fridge. I show 300 watts consumed and a voltage of 13.23 which is 70% capacity I believe. I’m am doing this test as a family member has meds that need refrigeration. I’m am actually pleased now. Again, thanks for replying. Peace.
