Very useful, thanks! Do you know how I file company returns for the previous year and/or the year before? The date selection only gives a range of a couple of weeks and the balance sheet shows only this year and the previous.
You only need to file for the years that you were a limited company - was your company a limited company then? If it was, and you didn't file them in a previous year, then Companies House would always contact you to remind you. I'd suggest you phone Companies House and ask them if you still need to bother filing for the previous years. You might not need to do it. I'm amazed they have not chased you for this, as they normally contact people who are late doing their filing.
Hi mate, great thanks for the detailed video, have one query, do we still need file the tax though if we don't use the business account or no transactions.
Thanks for your comment. You would have to contact HMRC to let them know about this. You can just phone them and tell them, and I've found them to be very helpful (although it can take a long time to actually get through to them on the phone!!) I would definitely recommend that you do contact HMRC to let them know you've had no transactions, but as long as you tell them, then it should be fine.
Good video but I wish you’d go more into depth about the terminology or link to the video containing the terms which I can’t seem to find. Also I’m curious about the new filing requirements for micro entities from March, any thoughts on the changes?
Thanks for your comment. I am going to make a new film explaining all the terms - but unfortunately have been out of action due to illness. I will make a new film as soon as I can, as a lot of people have requested it. It will definitely be within the next 3 weeks.
Regarding the new filing requirements - I'll also be making a film about this within the next few weeks - just been out of action recently with illness.
Hello there, really love your videos. great way of guiding people. 👌👌 I have a quick question; My LTD was created in April 2023 and my Accounts filing says "First accounts made up to 30 April 2024 due by 17 January 2025" Do I need to file my accounts in this month?
Hi sir, i used an accountant for the first year (2022-23) and obviously his Email Address was registered but the Authentication Code was sent on my address, if I do it myself this tax year (2023-2024) when I register using my own email address, will I receive a Different Authentication code?
If he did this from his own account then he will have a different authentication code. So I would strongly advise you to contact Companies House to get a new code for yourself

It would be better to file them a bit earlier than this to be safe.
