Driving Switzerland 🇨🇭 | From Morcote to Lugano 4K Scenic Drive

In today's video we are driving from Morcote to Lugano on Lake Lugano which is at the southernmost tip of the Tessin, the holiday region south of the ridge of the Alps, and it reaches its arms out into Italy. Thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate, there are even citrus fruit trees growing here, and visitors can sunbathe under palm trees.
Lugano, the largest town in the holiday region of Ticino, is not only Switzerland's third most important financial centre and a conference, banking and business centre, but also a town of parks and flowers, villas and sacred buildings. With Mediterranean flair, Lugano offers all the advantages of a world-class city, combined with the cachet of a small town.
We pass through the famous village of Morcote. Morcote is one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland. In fact, the picturesque village on Lake Lugano is part of the Swiss federal Inventory of sites worthy of protection.
With its characteristic small alleys, the arcades of old patrician homes, valuable architectural monuments and its natural beauty, Morcote is considered “the Pearl of Ceresio”. Of particular architectural interest, is the church of Santa Maria del Sasso, the terraced cemetery and the Tower of the Captain.
