When I was 16 I wore a tuxedo to my McDonald’s interview .. I never got a call back
Your to fancy for that establishment 😂
LOL
well done deku
Well as he said, "Starbuck" a simple khaki pants and a dress shirt would have been more appropriate :D
🤣
Good lol
thanks for that now i get my job at burger king
Bahahajahah
Bro I am also ihm graduate students but there is no vacancy for Management trainee in Burger King 🤥
I've been watching OG for many years now and to see that I had to come back to a 5 year video means a lot. Thank you OG and your team for making these contents I have really stepped up my style game for different occasions
Blows my mind how many people look down upon a polo and chinos lol it looks good and simple. Not overdressed or underdressed. Have a job interview tomorrow at a health insurance firm and looks like an office job with typing etc so i am going to wear some khaki chinos with a dark gray polo and some loafers
1st outfit perfect for hotel's interview... salute Jeff..
Salute Edmark!
This kind of video was needed. Good job sir!
I had to rewatch video. Interview in a few hours
Good luck Pat!
@@TheStyleOG thanks.. it went well.
Something all men should take notes. Very IMPORTANT. Good job and thanks for sharing bro❤
Good advice. But... if anyone arrived at an interview for me with LESS than "Business casual" I would not take them seriously.
O.K. I'm British, but for me THIS is the minimal dress code for any interview. It says I have made an effort for this interview and I want this job. Anything else, is just TOO casual for an interview. Being one step overdressed is never a problem, it shows effort. Also... for the love of god wear a BELT... those loops on your trousers are there for a reason !
The last step, the 'entry level' position - yes if you walk in from the street and say "Have you got any jobs going?", O.K. But if they ask you to come back and be interviewed - make an effort - business casual.
I am a production and distribution manager at a manufacturing company for a frame of reference.
Great channel. Subscribed.
appreciate the input Lochnload!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep this in mind for an interview I have soon! 👍🏼
I would always recommend a belt to match the shoes
Hello sir
@Jeff, great info as always. Add how to dress if you are applying at a hospital, but there are a plethora of positions you could be applying for. I’m a Respiratory Therapist and I wear scrubs, but I wore a button up and a tie, but for some management positions you may need to wear a suit. Also, talk about fragrances. Don’t be the cologne guy and wear work appropriate fragrances.
i suggest no cologne at all for job interviews..
but how do you stand out dressing like this. Key is having bright colors or an unusual color or color combination. After that how you communicate determines how well you would do.
huge mistake, you are not there to show off your fashion sense, you are there to show that you can be a part of that company's culture. save the bright colors for after you get the job
i was just thinking about more avenues for income. I love the polo /chinos combo. thats more of my Everyday wear.
great combo!
Totally covered now for my investment banking interview tomorrow.... cheers mate.
good luck tomorrow Leon!
Could you do a video on how to wear colored jeans or colored chinos? I have a new pair of burgundy Levis but am afraid I'll look like a clown!
in the works Aaron, I got you..
The Style O.G. Thanks man!! Saving me from looking like a fool...again! 🙌
Just a comment; I noticed that on the last two dress suggestions you did not have a belt on...I think it would look best if you did.
I've never wore business attire...I been wearing tracksuits my whole life
Thanks for the wisdom OG
no problem!
I have a question how should u dress if your going for a warehouse interview?
a polo and chinos would work..
"Shave the night before" Tell that to my 5 o'clock shadow at 8am
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Where is your first suit from
:( I don’t have any of those types of clothes and I have an interview tomorrow, not looking good for me
How was the interview?
Giupetto Ventelucci I got the job
@@stanxxlee2095 congrats dude
Good info as always!
Thanks dumbellgym!
Subscribed, you have good energy and get right to the point
welcome to the channel Sean!
great vid fam.
Thanks Lil Bro!
This man is the fashionable uncle that I've never had XD
I have a video interview tomorrow for a lead desktop support role. In the email, the recruiter said to dress business professional. That sounds like a suit and tie. What do you think?
suit and tie for sure
How about applying for a customer service position or janitor?
Chinos and oxford button down
This guy ROCKS!!!
Thanks Mattias!
A well needed video for the ages.
What about for a factory job making candles. My interview is for tomorrow.
Chinos, oxford button down, chukka boots
i went to a job interview with basketball shorts, wife beater tank top, and slides with socks on. og is right, first impressions are true. on some real shit, i did it for shits and giggles. hr manager doing the interview was shocked. its all about confidence and mannerisms. they thought they got a hood ass nigga but when i spoke, they were perplexed yet intrigued by my confidence and eloquence.
got the job but turned it down because my first/primary job wasnt willing to change my schedule to work cohesive with the new job.
if you aint got no job, follow og. if u have a secure job and want another for extra paper but can be selective. try it lol
Great video! I'm reentering the insurance business at a lower level than I had been previously. This is for a program with the eventual goal for starting my own agency, with a well known multiline insurance company. I have to interview with agency owners. The agency owners in my city tend to wear polo shirts and chinos. Would a sport coat . casual dark knit tie, white shirt, trousers, and burgundy wing tips be acceptable. Would a blazer and striped tie be better? A suit is overkill.
i would go with the dark knit tie and sport coat Frederick!
Thanks!
Hey guys, I got a question. So I'm going to Shoe Carnival for an interview, how should I dress
Dope video! What would you recommend interviewing for a field/substation engineer? This job is an outside environment type and requires work boots, hardhat's, etc....would really a your guidance.
Hey O.G ~ how should you dress if applying to work as a membership consultant at a gym? Are polo shirts ok?
I would go either oxford button down, no tie, or polo with chinos..
@@TheStyleOG Thank you O.G
Great video. What do you recommend to wear for a teaching position? It’s going to be via zoom meeting. What type of shirt should I wear. Thanks
blazer and oxford button down
Personally I never wear navy and black together
Excellent presentation style
Thanks a lot!
I'm going for a Facilities Engineering Manager job. What do you think would be good to wear?
Business casual
Thank you for your advice. I greatly appreciate it.
Another good one.
Thanks Terrence!
Great video!
Thanks Luis !

Thank you!
No problem!

No problem !

I hope you don't mind, I'd like to use your video for my blog on my professional development website that I'm making for class. The website isn't published yet, but it will be. If you don't approve, I won't use the video. Thank you!
you can link to it or embed it..
Or... Dress properly for your own business and respect yourself.
That too..lol
Bro I’m trying to get a job at a fast food not dress like I’m from HQ
Crocs, cargo shorts and a wife beater
Is it me or this dudes voice sounds like Samuel L. Jackson ? 😅
Ahmad Essam 😂😂😂 I didn’t expect that
no, he just sound like a black man xD
@@cristian-bull he just sounds like himself.
FACTS 😂
Only till you said that then I realised
Great post. This should be shown in high school life skills classes. Heck, I know college students and adults who could benefit from this information. Love your channel. I watch daily.
Much appreciated vista lite!
vista lite u r right but there are many places where they dont care about what u wear. They mean how much is your Educational qualifications and knowledge. But still one has to presentable. In my personal opinion if u r well dressed that is good but if u r well dressed and know nothing u put ur dress into shame
that's a great idea!
Well one thing to remember is the level of the position you are interviewing for. You have to dress appropriate for that level.
True indeed !
Exactly, dressing like this for an interview at a fast food chain would seem out of place
Great video OG. Small drops of jewels can lead to big treasures! Appreciate ya👌🏿
Much appreciated Aaron!
You should do voice acting or something. Your voice is smooth as hell🤣
Appreciate it !
Man this is the most helpful place to be on UA-cam, your content is very helpful, as well as clear and concise. Keep doing your thing man, salute!!
Thanks Anthony!
Thank you once again, O.G. Style.
Salute Edwin!
I was having lunch at a local Corner Bakery restaurant and saw someone interviewing for a job. He had multiple tears in his jeans and wore a t-shirt with sneakers. Even though it is a retail position that seemed like it was inappropriate. What do you suggest as clothes to wear for a retail job? I would think a polo and chinos.
polo and chinos no doubt!
The Style O.G. great minds think alike!
this video looks and feels like it should say "feating TeachingMensFashion" lol
Best advice 👍
Thanks Sunny!
I'm 14 and going for my mock interviews. Man this was sooooo helpful. Thanks for all this info and btw man hope your channel grows and keeps on growing. Keep up the amazing work man, appreciate it!!!

Thanks Sohaib!
I’d definitely hire OG. M.
Definitely gonna use this for my career development workshop with my students. Thanks Style og!
Please do share it with your students Danny!
So many great tips! Thank you so much :)
Tell it like it is brother! Good points
Ok that good an all, but how about a job in Driscoll’s doing berry breeding?
Yo I’m applying for a jobs at Best Buy, what should I wear
Peace bro. What about dressing for a ZOOM/virtual interview for a admin position at a legal/law firm? I have an interview tomorrow morning but just checked the closet and literally have no button down shirts of any color, only Hugo Boss button up short sleeves and no collar Psycho Bunny/RL polos. Been working from home since C19 and now have an offer on the table to actually work in an office setting for a different company. Your advice is appreciated.
What about the postal office, keep in mind for a couple months you wear your own outfits until they give you allowance for the uniform
you still need to dress appropriately for the interview, chinos, button down shirt, tie is my suggestion....
Thank you.
No problem!
Fuckin hella nervous man. Tryna look fresh and on point for these job/internship interviews and the way I dress gets me stressed man. Fuck thankfully this video is out here.
Aye yo style O.G. for the suit would you say wearing a kind of shiny/nicer esque gold watch would be appropriate or should I just rock the simple platinum/simple silver with black face watch.
simple is best!
I wore a light blue dress shirt, a striped dark blue tie, black dress pants and black dress shoes that shined like wow, for electronics department position at a lesser known store. I got it.
Congrats Sam!
Never wear a black suit for upper management job navy blue or dark gray suit
So sir, are you a stylist?
How do you dress for a scientist interview, specifically an environmental scientist, where you work in both the outdoors and office?
Chinos, oxford button down, chukkas
Great tips. I worked at Sears here in Canada, and as soon as the store went into liquidation they said 'no more dress code'. I had to flex on em' a little bit😏
Flex on em!!
New Subscriber. Excellent video. Short, Sweet and to the point. can't wait to learn more from you.
welcome to the channel Marvi Marv!
T.G.I. Friday’s interview
What about office messenger
I have an interview for a local city interview in the planning department what style should i wear?
Shirt and tie at the minimum
+The Style O.G. Thank you!!!! All you need to know in a 6-min video, straight to the point. One question: Should I walk in with extra copy of resume and references holding it in a 1.) regular folder, 2.) leather man-clutch (business type, hand held), or 3.) leather business bag/messenger bag (with strap)? Thanks!!!
I like option 2 the best
Thanks!!!!
What's up O.G. just wanted to share with you..i watch your videos so much that my 6 year old daughter has been walking around the house all day saying your intro. Then when you get to the "SALUTE" we say it together!!!
Tell your daughter I said hello!!! what's her name?, I'll put her on the salute list!!
The Style O.G. Wow she would love that. It's Ziyana Taylor
What color shirt and shoes for a Grey suit?
HR video...no doubt. Well done, my friend!
Thanks Mike!
Wow Jeff, what more can I say. You just know how to bless us with style. 👍
Quick one Jeff, what would you suggest a teacher wears for a job interview in a school?
I'd go with a business casual look..
The Style O.G. thanks Jeff. Would you go with chinos or denims for such a business casual look?
You are the best out here
Absolute Perfect video.
Thanks Jalen!
THANK YOU
I call BS!
Awesome post. You’re staying on top of the game brother.
Thanks Bert!
Great video O.G !! I'm a computer programmer, what style you recommend the most?
I would go with the casual look, button down shirt, chinos, loafers..
Camilo Diaz - Being that the IT community is an often heard of but rarely seen in the wild subculture, your's is an excellent question. I would submit that Jeff's recommendations can be applied seamlessly to you as well. I would recommend that If you are applying for a Team Lead or Department Head position where you will be required to field questions face to face from higher ups, other DH's, take meetings, and give briefs, have the suits for interview, sport coats, tie and trousers /chinos for briefs, chinos and buttoned downs w/or w/o tie for your everyday desk jockey work wear. If applying for back-end positions (help desk, infrastructure), and only meeting w/ team leads or performing on-site T/C, interviewing in buttoned down w/ tie and chino. Polo w/ chino , work pants, travel /commuter pants (Dickies, Dockers, Outlier, or non-distressed jeans) should be fine for day to day duties. Some things that you may want to consider are the geographical location and environment in which you will you be working such as mobile, remote, in the field, or in office environment. Who will you be interacting with most frequently, your external or internal customers? Being that you work in a technical field and and more than likely you will be interviewed in an office environment regardless of where you may be assigned, a suit IMO is never over dressed for the initial interview but as Jeff said, you can't go wrong w/ verifying w/ your point of contact or HR.
