I kinda wish they’d make a more durable pressure plate just for making this trap more annoying. It might even become like the deez nutz joke of Minecraft, running headlong into it without knowing and it looking so obvious after you know
My Minecraft server is worse. I have a lot of deathtraps untested. Currently, only 8 out of 30 have been tested so far by unlucky victims I managed to -trick- invite over. 3 of them were able to crash the server upon their first usage. One of them is what I call the Minesweeper Trap. It has a 100% mortality rate (mainly because the only safe zone is located on the other side of the obsidian box and everything around the victim is an instant TNT trigger).

Will an observer block on top would work as a substitute for the pressure plate?
Possibly yes
I’m pretty sure observers only detect block changes in front of it. It can’t detect players or entities.
Do doors being interacted with count?
@@karasuclips693 Yeah, it gives off a signal when it detects the door open or close.
@@daekyong5059 yes but observers give off ticks and not pulses so it wouldn't stay on
