Terry was everything really. Top bloke, good player…crackin’ coach & manager…great ambassador for English football, a super pundit & even had a dabble in show-business…I just wish he was England manager for longer. Thanks for the memories Tel 👍🏼
Billy Corkhill, Vince Hilaire, Freddy Flintstone, Fred Astaire ...
The Beloved - Hello. One of my favourite bands, back in the day. 'Happiness' is a great album.
TV - A natural born winner
Terry Venables also co-devised the Hazell ITV series for Thames back the late 70’s.
West Brom fan here RIP El Tel, he was a great man- manager. Superb coach and should have managed England for 10 years!
RIP Terry Venables 💐🙏
A very sad day yesterday ..terry was a real one off in football and away from it ..was around this time he first got into writing with the late Gordon williams ..they wrote the football novel "They used to play on grass " after which they created the private detective "james hazell " together ..thames tv turning it into a 1970s tv classic (to this day it is a cult series )....i was lucky to meet terry about 12 years ago when we never talked football but concentrated on hazell ..i found him exactly the same away from any cameras ..very humble easy going ..was an absolute pleasure to meet the man
Hilarious was a great little player. I think he played England B but never got a look in under Greenwood during that one season when he could come in. Problem in 1979 was that Coppell operated on the right wing so Hilaire would have had to dislodge a forward.
Yes same with my hero laurie cunningham, Greenwood missed a trick by not playing those 2!!
0:32 Big John Russell singing 1:13 Full House band playing.
I only saw Vince Hilaire play twice, for C. Palace in 1983 and Portsmouth in 1987. On both occasions he won penalties, not entirely sure how legitimately though.
Fantastic footage. Love Vince. Good to hear 'Walshy' (Ian Walsh) mentioned a couple times too. Think I saw him score against the Dutch team in this footage? Saw Kenny Sansom in there too. Smashin!
Respect to Terry V. If only he stayed at Palace that first time around. Well I would say that as a Palace fan!
He was the perfect English football manager... we think of him like we do sir alf and sir bobby...a legend may he sleep well 🏴🙏🏴🙏
RIP terry venables, great manager and character like his mentor malcolm allison, that palace strip was brilliant, i prefer it to the admiral version they'd wear from 77/78, vince hilaire was a fantastic player, it's a shame he never really fulfilled his potential, loved that era of the game
Kenny Samson, when he was a lean handsome young player. Before the Demons
Sad that what should be a tribute to Terry is only promoted because it's about a black player
