Thanks for sharing! I've been there twice, before I took up birding. Saw 3 California Condors while there, and got a nice close-up of # 61 from the South Rim lookout. Hoping you guys had some good luck with them as well! Looking forward to Episode #2!
Hey guys, YES the Grand Canyon is absolutely awesome!! I thought same thing as you Derek, it didn't look real, it looked like someone painted it. I was there many years ago and my family an I were taking a little break, we were still at the rim but went inside one of the stores and I got an ice cream cone. I was almost finished when one of those squirrels came right up to me and looked up as if to say " you gonna' share any of that ice cream" lol... so I stood there and fed this wild squirrel the last of my cone while my mom took video!! He loved it too, he wanted more. Looks like a great trip, hope to see more!!😉❤
I hope you guys get the chance to hike the grand canyon one day. I backpacked it during the winter with some friends and it was unreal. Even found some common mergansers way at the bottom with some night herons.
Love the scrub Jay. I have a big obsession with jays and it’s a staple of all my Florida trips to see the Florida Scrub-Jay every time. As you can probably see my profile picture is a picture I took in Florida of the Florida Scrub-Jay

Love the violet-green swallows! They are such pretty colors when the light hits them right I also love the Woodhouse’s scrub jay. It is such a pretty color of blue. Thanks for taking us on your Arizona adventures! 😊
Wow, what an awesome adventure! Of course the birds were super neat- especially liked the scrub jay- but it was so neat to see from your perspective walking up to see the canyon for the first time. That was an amazing shot that really gave those of us that have never been there a taste of what it would look like. Thanks!👍😁
Once again, I wish I had been birding 10 years ago when I visited the Grand Canyon. The only species I recall seeing there was a raven, but it looks like there's a nice variety there.
@@BadgerlandBirding Condor would be great! Years ago here in UK there was a docu series called Flight of The Condor. It was filmed mostly in the Andes and adjacent countries. I was a teenager when it was broadcast and I wouldn't miss a prog. Later a book came out to accompany the series. I could hardly take in the size of the bird and fell in love with its effortless soaring on the thermals.
I’m a birder too, nice to find a channel like this.

I love that little mushroom coloured juniper titmouse. Great camouflage for its habitat. The views are breathtaking. What a place!

That was a beautiful view of the Grand Canyon. Those were interesting birds there too. I've seen a Florida scrub jay north of Orlando.

I always considered going to the Grand Canyon but I never did because I was too busy. Hopefully I'll see these bird species when I go.

Yes in the Colorado Plateau, birding is slow. Views are always great though.
