I moved to France after brexit. When comparing the living and welfare standards of European citizens compared to those of British citizens I find it absolutely appalling and an absolute disgrace what the corrupt Tory party has done to the UK.

Dominic Grieve is an intelligent, considered man with high principles unlike John Hayes who wouldn't know a true patriot if they stood in front of them. That explains why the former is an ex Conservative MP and the latter is still there.

The gentlemen on the telephone spoke calmly, but his views are clearly unhinged. His confidence seems to come from the belief that a majority in this country share his opinions on social issues, cultural matters, needless toil and supranational institutions. I can only hope he's in for a rude awakening. The only sad thing is that Labour now seem to want to pander to his idea of what constitutes a "hard-working patriotic British family" too.

      Well said !
The idea that there is significant support for the Rwanda farce in the country, or that it is the will of the people is ludicrous, even if there certainly is support for curtailing immigration.
Similarly the lie about "taking back control" has been fully revealed leading one to think that Hayes suggesting we need even stronger "conservatism" to convince the voters leads one to think he's irretrievably delusional, particularly seeing as he leads the "Common Sense Group" of Tories so fully engaged with the cultural marxism/woke absurdity.
Hayes' Loony Right is the corollary of Loony Left thought in the 80s - that the electorate would rush towards even purer socialism.
Dominic Grieve on the other hand is a gentleman, a thoughtful patriot and a man of unimpeachable integrity.

Only 25.5% of 'the People' voted for Brexit, only 43% of the electorate voted for 'Get Brexit Done' and gave Johnson an 80 seat majority to do a Hard Brexit that even he said would not happen. 57% wanted another referendum and/or No Brexit. The Tories haven't been "conservative" since Thatcher's time. They are now the Spiv party.
One more thing: Johnson didn't dent the Tories, they dented themselves when they elected him leader; not because of his brilliance, not because of his political genius, not because of his fortitude or anything else that actually matters in a national leader - because he has none of those things - but because of his (and I can hardly believe I'm saying this) "charisma". Because apparently he has some, though it's always been lost on me.

The EU is in need of reform - but it has also brought huge economic benefits over the last 30 or more years and breaking the trading relationship with the UK's single biggest trading partner was obviously going to lead to economic problems.

Three things about this government that have shocked me to the core recently (discounting the small boats debacle and dozens of other strange events and issues...)
After well over a decade since the election of Cameron's Conservative government, and nearly a decade after Brexit, immigration into the UK reached the highest recorded figures in history. Somehow, millions and millions of people did not see this coming...
The recent 'military conscription' poll showed that 83% of young people in Britain do not believe our society is worth defending. Which just goes to show, you can only kick a dog for so long...
In many London boroughs, around a staggering 50% of social housing is allocated to foreign nationals. I only found this out today, and - to be honest - I'm still a bit shell-shocked.

Same as my old town Birmingham.
As a boy in the 1960's, Brum was 99% white...you can see this on many You Tube uploads.
Today, it is 70% ethnic, high unemployment, few pay council rent and even fewer pay council tax.
That is why Birmingham Council is bankrupt....due entirely to a shrunken tax base...much like America after White Flight.
