I was at a salon this particular time, and a woman was insisting that the stylist bleach her hair. She wanted to go from black to blond. He hair looked like hay. She told the stylist that she had bleached, permed, and colored her hair a combination 12 times that year alone, and it was only March. She became frustrated when the stylist refused, explaining that she was damaging her hair and that it would fall out, and as a professional it was unsafe to allow that to happen to her, so she flat out refused. The customer than says, I will sign a written statement not holding you accountable. The stylist asked her to leave, but had to get the manager because the woman wouldn't get out of the chair.

That is not only a time and product issue to me. You couldn't pay me to do something like that...cause bleaching that womans hair would be causing not only hair loss, but could burn her scalp. I do not harm people. For no money in the world!

The bit with the iron on the hair. That’s what we did in the 60’s before blow-drys were really invented. It was Vidal Sassoon who revolutionised hair styling and the first hand-held dryer were available. It works and, if done properly doesn’t damage hair and gives you dead straight hair. We used to iron it between brown wrapping paper.

I always get so annoyed when people complain and blame the hairdresser because they weren’t able to go blonde after having pitch black hair

Isn't it part of the hair-dresser's job to explain it to the client, instead of just doing something that they know isn't what the client actually wants? Obviously, if the client is asking for it, they don't know it won't work and the hairdresser not educating them and just doing a job for a big pay check that isn't what the client wanted or expected is kinda dishonest. Like... just. tell. them. the truth. Explain it. Once they understand, work out a plan for something that is both possible with their hair and something they will like.
Of course a client is going to be annoyed if they have an expectation and pay big bucks and then don't get what they expected. If a hair dresser does explain it and tells them why it won't work the way they expect and the client just orders them to do it anyway... that's one thing, but not saying anything and then taking all that money seems dishonest.

@@0StarGirl5000 I guarantee you there's been multiple times when a hairdresser tried to explain something to me and I just nod like I understand. I'm aware that's on me and I don't blame the hairdresser but I'm also sure I'm not the only one. 😂

I dye my hair myself (have a friend help me) and never had any issues.
But at some point it got to be too much work and I went to a hairdresser and OMG top pay horrendous result.
I TOLD them I have a lot of hair and they went “yeah sure” and didn’t believe me. They ran out of the dye 3 quarters in and didn’t say anything. When I got home I had the left side of my head brown/reddish and the other side and back the dark red I wanted.
Went back… no money back (we’re gonna give me a discount for my next dye job) no sorry just a stuck up blond giving me stink eye.
I went back to blue as soon as I could and been doing my hair myself ever since. If you know what you’re doing and stick in the same color family you can switch it around as much as you want. No problem.
Never going to a salon ever again.

I remember I wanted 2 strips on either side of my face to be blonde back in high school. My hairstylist asked me if my black hair was natural or fake, which I admitted to being all natural since the last time she dyed it was 4-5 years previous. Even then it was too make it such a dark purple/red that the only way to notice the difference would've been if I straightened it- which I had.
So, this time, I wanted strips on either side. I knew they wouldn't be platinum blonde. Heck, I'd be lucky if they didn't come out orange. In the end, I got the golden river blonde I wanted. Of course, my natural black hair would ruin it within a few short weeks because it turned the blonde red, then brown, then black again. 🤦🤷 Like, whaaaaat?! It felt as if I was looking at a bruise lose its color. I thought it would last at least 2 months. But nope. Within the month- luckily only after the event I wanted my hair dyed for- I started losing the color. Within 3 months it was brown. Finally, 6-7 months it had grown out long enough that I could get a hair cut that removed the former color. Sometimes I hate my hair stylist for just how good she is at getting hair to grow back. Like, her hands must have hair steroids or something.

I cut my own bangs all the time. Some people just don't seem to do any research or study techniques used by hairdressers. I mean, it's not perfect but I'm always happy with the results and if you have guts or just remember that "hair grows back" then you'll be fine. There is nothing wrong with cutting your own hair and you really shouldn't chastise people who try it, _even if_ they film it, fail, then upload the video.

You crack me up. But maybe you could answer a question for me. Every time I have gone into a hair salon for just a couple of inches off the bottom to get rid of some split ends...and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME! I have gone in and the stylist has gushed over how long and healthy and thick my hair is, spent some time just brushing it and admiring it and talking to the other stylists about it...and then...the first thing they do is whack it off at the shoulder or shorter. Every. Time. I have long hair because I have a gazillion cowlicks in every direction and cannot be bothered to style my hair. I want it long so it weighs those things down and I can just braid it and put it up, but every stylist I have ever gone to (admittedly, only about eight stylists in my near 60 years, now) has first admired how long and healthy the hair is, and then done a short whack job on it. Even after sympathizing with my previous experiences. I no longer even try. Why do they do this? I mean, if they were muttering about how bad the split ends were and how so much would have to come off I could at least understand it, but...that's not the case. Is it just an irresistable urge?

Hi Everyone! I hope you're having good day. I love your informative yet humorous commentaries. I would never trust mechanical haircutting machine because I could see something seriously going wrong. I have only had three people do my hair perfectly when they asked and answered questions about what I am looking for in my haircuts while adding what would make it better haircut for my hair texture and better cut shape for my round face. Ultimately, haircuts are done with my hair's natural side part since my widow's peak hairline affects middle part haircuts. I am currently trying find new hair salon that gives me confidence and trust in their performance with my hair. Unfortunately , ones who gives me confidence and trust are down in Florida where my Mom lives instead of my state Georgia. So , I do get great hairstyle experience once a year at hair salon when I vacation with my Mom who gifts me pampering hair salon treatment on each visits. Since I have not found great hair salon around my area of Georgia , I do ultimately have very long hair that is kept trim of dead ends that is donated to Locks of Love the children's wig foundation each time that I visit my Mom. I hope everyone will have safe and happy day.

Sorry, but I have put off asking this for months. Am I the only one that remembers this happening on the 60s TV series "The Beverly Hillbillies"...Granny cuts Jed's ( and a couple times Jethro's) hair using the bowl cut technique? Yep, I'm old.aybe someone else has pointed this out & I overlooked it. I have been checking comments but it wouldn't be the 100th time I missed something.

FYI in many of your videos the sound cuts off. In this one it did a few minutes after the beginning.

The haircutting robot is cool and all, but I still prefer the human touch. The robot might misread the programme or glitch, and cut my entire head clean off.

The last couple videos I've watched from hair Buddha the sound has completely cut out, but it's only with his videos... Is it just me?

The 3:43 was definitely not the first person to do it, and it was horribly done! They couldn't center the emoji head?! It was so off center I would have gone crazy knowing how bad it was!
