i dont remember ever seeing one of these in the wild. one thought that keeps coming to me is about output power watts is a measurement based on amps and volts so is there a better ratio for transmitted power like lower voltage higher amps or vice versa? ever tested this to see if different cbs generate the 4w with different v/a?
Very few 4W sets draw less than 1A. I bet I could test 100 sets with this chassis & that this is the lowest consumption of any. Normally UK 4W 1980's radios draw between 1.15A & 1.45A. On the other hand, current models mainly draw 2.2 to 2.5A. Great progress eh? Richard
one of these at thew Newark Hamfest today for £15 in better condition, probably would have sold it for £10, i bought loads of CB stuff as did a mate, more you bought cheaper it got..
@@ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 you missed loads, stacks on UK40 radios managed to get them at £5 each, even the Merit base box and the other base unit £20 and £30.. those illegal power supplies £5. you would have loved it :)
