I really like Tina Yothers. She comes across as such a nice, intelligent and down to earth person. I did see see her band in L.A. back in the day and they were great. It is too bad they never made it big. The world missed out on some really talented people including Tina's brother Corey who played keyboards in Jaded. Another great video-thanks Dave!
Back in the day either when the show was still on the air or shortly after it was cancelled I saw her shopping at the Nordstrom at the Mainplace mall in Santa Ana. I didn’t say anything but was surprised to see her there instead of at the more upscale South Coast Plaza not too far away. In hindsight it says a lot about her humility.

My favorite though will always be Michael Gross as Steven Keaton. In my opinion back back in the day he was the funniest straight man on TV who really could deliver a one liner.

Thursdays in the 80s was always great tv watching with the cosby show at 7 and then Family ties , cheers and night court. The only tv show now that looks good is young Sheldon.
I cut all ties from television in the nineties and only watch DVDs or old VCR tapes. Once a year when we go on our little three day getaway and in our motel room flipping through the channels I'm reminded why.
I love her!! I met her a few times in the early 00’s thru a friend of a friend, and saw Jaded a few times in L. A. One thing not mentioned is that Tina is half Mexican.
I sometimes have wondered whatever happened to Tina Yothers. Good to know she is doing well these days and staying away from social media. I too do not do Facebook (soon to be Meta), Twitter, Instagram, and Tick Tock. This is as close as I get in doing social media by posting comments on UA-cam and sometimes on Yahoo news articles.
From time to time, I'll post a link to a video on Facebook or Twitter...but I do my best to keep my time on those social networks to a minimum. UA-cam is all the fun that I need.
@@jdsundstrom Thanks for all the fun research on old TV shows and the actors who had roles in them and uploading them on UA-cam. You, your family and friends have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I was very young when Family Ties began. I was so young that it was a series that helped introduce me to the very concept of television. Honestly I was four years old when it started, eleven years old when it ended. It’s one of only two series’ which got me deeply emotional when it aired its series finale. The Golden Girls is the other series to do that to me.
@@jdsundstrom you’re welcome!! And, The Golden Girls is another one that’s fantastic, to me. Such special chemistry between Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty.
Respect Tina/et al for trying different things. Laker Girl, Jaded - they climbed the mountain/few do. Even if you try to go up the mountain the World respects you.
Tina was on Celebrity Fit Club, and even though people laugh at me for watching it, I think that the "celeb-reality" are interesting because you get to see these people interacting in real time with others or situations. It tends to bring out something that is not celebrated in magazines or tell-all's. Tina, I was surprised, was a person I could very easily see myself hanging out with! Also (I think the same season!) Kelly Le Brock! I realize things are edited, but these ladies still seem very humble to me.
My favorite episode, was when Mallory, broke up with her bf, (b4 she met Scott Valentine.) And she accompanied Alex to his college interview, and could not control her emotions. For me, the was one if the best episodes, besides Tina, like, like being a "valley girl."
I never clicked a video so fast. I adored this actress as a child

I love the vintage promo for the Family Ties pilot episode. When Michael J. Fox turns off the stereo, looks at Michael Gross and says “This guy sounds like he’s in pain,” the ‘guy’ is Bob Dylan singing a rendition of “Man Of Constant Sorrow.”
Yah...that promo was a fun find. 🙂
Thursdays in the 80s was always great tv watching with the cosby show at 7 and then Family ties , cheers and night court. The only tv show now that looks good is young Sheldon.
I enjoy The Goldbergs over on ABC...but it is in its 9th season and wasn't as good as it once was.
I cut all ties from television in the nineties and only watch DVDs or old VCR tapes. Once a year when we go on our little three day getaway and in our motel room flipping through the channels I'm reminded why.
@@johnharris3362 Try getting a digital antenna and you'll get a lot of free channels like metv and antenna tv.
Yep 😮
I love her!! I met her a few times in the early 00’s thru a friend of a friend, and saw Jaded a few times in L. A. One thing not mentioned is that Tina is half Mexican.
I did not know that about Tina. Thanks for sharing!
I loved Solid Gold!
Me too!
Classic tv show just watched taxi on plutotv ain’t life excellent 😊
Pluto TV is really great!
Thanks for sharing, Nick!
@@jdsundstrom you’re welcome!! And, The Golden Girls is another one that’s fantastic, to me. Such special chemistry between Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty.
Respect Tina/et al for trying different things. Laker Girl, Jaded -
they climbed the mountain/few do. Even if you try to go up the
mountain the World respects you.
I never did watch much on Family Ties. I wonder if you might do a video on I Spy.
I've got that one on my potential topics list, Georgia.

Sure you want to touch that one, Dave? I guess if anyone can do it tactfully, you can!
She went to my high school. We were in the same grade, but she had home studies. I knew her older brother, Corey. He played the drums. Good guy.
Thanks for sharing, Daniel!
I loved Family Ties, conservative children and hippie parents what a great idea for a sitcom.😂
I watched it too :-)
I'm guilty as well, watched every season
I watched it too. She was on the same season as Ted Lang of "Love Boat" and Erika Eleniak of "Baywatch".
Very strong video.
Thanks John! It was a fun video to put together.
The late Dana Hill was in that film as well. She played the eldest of Albert Finney's daughters.
Thanks for sharing, Emanuel!
TINA YOTHERS prime time snowbunny of the eighties❤.
My favorite episode, was when Mallory, broke up with her bf, (b4 she met Scott Valentine.) And she accompanied Alex to his college interview, and could not control her emotions. For me, the was one if the best episodes, besides Tina, like, like being a "valley girl."
It wasn't my favorite either. BUT, it was a great launching pad for MJF! You're right Dave...NO weak links in that cast.
Thanks Pat!
@@jdsundstrom love the cast reunion video on UA-cam 🙃
