Hi- How do you, as the host/presenter in screen share mode, make sure the viewers are only seeing the speaker video in the corner? Versus seeing everyone's icon in the meeting? Does spotlighting the speakers video work while in screen share? And would that allow all the viewers to just see the one square?

It would be a nice feature, and many have called on microsoft to add it. As of right now, presenter modes seems to only work on the desktop app. At my college, we subscribe to Office 365, which lets us download a copy of the desktop app too. It may be worth checking that out OR investing in a full software version if you use it regularly.

good stuff but wish you would use a mic. Hard to hear you without earphones.

Thanks and sorry about that. I usually do film with a desk mounted microphone. I was upgrading my desktop when I filmed this one, and had to use my laptop. I'll see if I can adjust the sound levels on it.

    Hi Ryan,
I want the participants to see me full screen, and to have the powerpoint presentation in the corner 1/10 of the full size screen. So just like when I am doing my stage presentation. Is that possible? Most important in my webinar is that they see ME, because I do all sorts of juggling tricks and stuff. But I want them to see the powerpoint presentation too. I hope to hear from you. Regards from Amsterdam.

Yes, but it is up to your participants to set their view to be that way. When sharing your screen you have to click the swap button on the video window. There is an option to swap shared screen with speaker view. This gives you the small shared screen and larger speaker view. support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362323-How-Do-I-Change-The-Video-Layout- (scroll down to "Layout when Screensharing" section). The new side-by-side mode also has a similar option. Both have the limitation that you must ask your audience to view you that way. To my knowledge there is not a way to force view settings on the audience.

Hi Ryan, thank you for sharing this and many other videos about Zoom. They are very useful. I am an ESL teacher in China and I have to give the same lesson plan 13 times a week and I was thinking if I can record my PowerPoint presentations with screen sharing them including me talking at the same time, I guess you call it Picture in Picture, but I am not sure. But it's something that you do when you make your videos. Would it possible to make a tutorial video on how you do your videos and what apps do you use to make them. Thank you advance, Sam Younes

There are several ways to record videos that can be viewed later. I made a video that covers several methods ranging from easy to more complicated. "Using Screen Capture Tools to Record Lectures (Remote Instruction Series)" -

Hello, Please may I ask would the transitions for elements of the slides still work when sharing your PPT in ZOOM. My son has an interview on Tuesday which should have been in person. Your tutorials are excellent. Thank you.

I just tested it, and yes they do (both slide transitions, and animations still work normally in presenter view). I'm glad I could help :)
