She wanted to get the government checks for having a disabled child. She induced labor 3 months early and lost the child. Once released from the hospital, she was immediately arrested and spent all her money lawyering up--which worked because after a year of court dates, she didn't face jail time.
There were apparently complications that went unnoticed from when she hurt herself and they went untreated for over a year. She passed away due to those. OP refused to go into details and asked not to get PM's asking for details because she didn't want to go into the grizzly nature of untreated uterus trauma.

Okay: there were more updates. Karen caused a miscarriage by accident because she’d get more money if she had a disabled child. Then she spiraled badly and ODd on drugs and passed away. I’m sure there was more, but those were the main things I remembered.

Sounds like someone altered the story. I read the original posts on OP's reddit, and yes, she has a foster daughter--now adopted to make life easier for her and friend.
Karen indeed lost the baby. It was self-inflicted injury to try and have a handicapped child but ultimately killed the child.
Karen did not off herself. She died due to medical complications from when she hurt herself to get a handicapped child, that went untreated for over a year basically.

Oh there's so so much more to this story than was posted here.
Ken started stalking Lili at school and started stalking OP. Even claimed he was her husband and attempted to pick up a computer she had bought for her boyfriend with a fake ID of OP. They moved states to get away from Ken.
Karen beat herself to try and make her child special needs. In the home country, you get a cheque for having a disabled child so she intended to use that money to support her so she didn't have to work. She induced labor 3 months early and lost the baby. She was arrested but ultimately wasn't charged with murder. She used up all the money OP had given her previously (the portion of the inheritance mentioned in video) for the legal fees and everyone that had been on Karen's side officially disowned her. Also, with a criminal record, she couldn't apply for a visa for 10 years.
OP got in trouble with work because per company policy, any social media activity can reflect on the company so they need to have a good online presence or none at all. Depending on the offense, it could get her fired. OP had removed all their social media because of Karen and Ken, but apparently, Karen made an Only-You-Know-What with OP's name. It was quickly dismissed when it was clear it wasn't OP in the videos, but she needed to contact her social worker, lawyer and all that to make sure this didn't come back to bite her later.
And lastly, a year after the death of the baby, Karen passed due to unresolved medical trauma she had inflicted on herself with the baby. OP would not go into details and asked us all not to PM asking for them. Karen also left 25k in debt to the next of kin--which is Mary and OP. In OP's home country, regardless of bridges burned or name on the contract, if there is death, all debts go to the next of kin. That would have been Karen's mother, but considering Karen's mom was old, had disowned Karen, and was under intense scrutiny for having such a malicious, sinful daughter in a very religious-oriented country, OP and Mary decided to take the debt off of Karen's mom's shoulders and were even talking of moving her up to the US to live with OP's Mom (The two moms had been friends before the Karen situation and OP's mom agreed).
This was the last update posted a year ago.
