Yay! My inner 7 year old has been aching for more Superman movies. Saw Superman 1, 2 and 3 in theaters back in the day. Collected Superman comics through the 80s to early 90s. Overjoyed when Superman Returns came out. Thrilled when we got Man of Steel. Superman movies make me happy.

The trunks, the yellow belt , the yellow shield on his cape are not easter eggs to the Reeves suit, They're all elements of the classic Superman suit from the comics.Also, 78 Superman didn't have phone booths to change in either, it was just the revolving door. C'mon, I expect better of you.
Emergency Awesome I am so excited to see this movie! I started reading comics when I was 6 and got to read my dad’s original superman comics. That Green car scene gives me chills, as I have that cover! I grew up with Christopher Reeve & classic comics! I am ready for Gunn’s DCU AND SEEING MY favorite hero on the big screen again! Well some of Superman's OG suits were made by his mother using the blanket that he landed on earth with. I hope they have a scene like in Superman and Lois where he says the iconic line when someone says they like his suit "Thanks, my mom made it for me". If they have that, and depending on how he delivers it, will tell me a lot of how this Superman portrayal will go. Cause right now, Hoechlin perfectly captured Superman in those 20 seconds in the intro of the first episode. Giving the kid his hat and saying "here you go friend", his happy expressions, and of course the "Thanks, my mom made it for me". And goddamn was the suit good. Good design, faithful to the comics, and the colors were just right. Hoechlin is in my opinion the gold standard of what Superman should be. And it's a shame he doesn't get a whole lot of recognition because it's a CW show.
It doesn’t look cheap. Hell, man of steel’s suit looked worse. It looked like one of those low budget foreign spin off costumes. This one just looks vibrant and closer to golden age era of films
I wish people would let go of the Christopher Reeve Superman. We had a Christopher Reeve Superman back when Christopher Reeve was the current Superman and then Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns in 2006 already paid homage to Christopher Reeve. At some point they need to learn to move on instead of continually going back to the past, otherwise it just means they have nothing new or interesting to show us or tell us. Christopher Reeve was great, but his time came and went and is in the past.

It's too bad that Gunn is going to try and recreate the Christopher Reeves Superman look and feel (and even stories?). It worked ok in the 80s but 40 years later? It also works ok in comic books but doesn't translate well to real life. I think the best look for Superman in a long, long time was the Cavil suit.

He was an awesome Clark Kent but I would take Henry Cavil’s version and suit as Superman. Put that suit on Christopher Reeves and you have the perfect Superman.
I can't get past the trunks. I think it looks bad, but that's my opinion. They're more like shorts. I think just the underwear style would look better. Man, I can't wait to see this movie and see what Janes Gunn does with the DCU. I think its gonna top marvel within the next 10 years.

Instead of just making a good movie they’re trying so hard to appeal to the fans so they can make money off of our love for these characters.

You mentioned Christopher Reeve quite a bit in this video. I hope this doesn’t end up like Superman Returns where they tried recapturing the magic of those movies instead of doing their own thing. Smallville and Tom Welling did the perfect job of acting as a successor to Reeve while doing their own version of the mythology still in an accurate way
It is not inspired by MAWS, it just has similarities with it, basically new 52, with kingdome come, and the all star trunks, while retaining that glassic golden emblem on his cape.
Something I find interesting is that Luthor isn't going by Lex, yet. That there is a LUTHORCORP shows that he hasn't stepped out of his father's shadow and claimed the company for himself. It may be this movie and his rivalry with Clark Kent/Superman that finally causes him to embrace his OWN identity.
One thing I must say, is that James O’Keefe has proved that simply wearing a pair of glasses can hide your identity in real life 🤓 legen-wait for it-dary! Legendary!
People complained that DC rushed a universe by introducing too many characters in the old universe and now they’re doing the same thing but since it’s James Gunn in charge it’s all good I guess lol
How is it rushed? These are just cameos for the most part. As long as Justice league isn't made before we meet all the characters and they get their own movies prior it should be fine
If the MCU taught us anything, it's that none of their characters wear the trunks, NONE, it's out of style. Snyder got that part right, and he should have stayed on as the main director.
I am more of a SnyderVerse fan but I was also looking forward to the verse to this universe and to be very honest I really didn't like it especially trunks and the hair style of Clark kent. I hope it will improve after the release of the movie.

I'm glad that they have bought the red trunks back! A lot of people loved it when they took them away but, for me, it's just not Superman without them.
Phone Booths don't exist anymore but they could do easter eggs where he changes one time in a Tardis Police Box where he comments that it's bigger on the inside or a Photo Booth.

This is just for show henry cavill is still superman, and that knockoff Mr terrific of the CW, is all for show, there is no Mr. Terrific in the movie. Look now david corenswet, henry cavill and james gunn is foolin the audience, those who were sad, be sad no more your dreams are still alive. Henry will still be supes when the movie comes out. I just think it's all still too soon from Henry Cavil's DCEU Superman to jump into yet another reboot of the character.

Phone Booths don't exist anymore but they could do easter eggs where he changes one time in a Tardis Police Box where he comments that it's bigger on the inside or a Photo Booth.
