Nice work. I see you are using only the set screw as a means to hold the gear and shaft together? May I suggest using a key, keyseat and keyway on your shaft and gear. That would also eliminate the need for a nut. The set screw would hold your gear in place and the key would take all the brunt.

prodigy434 Yes they are. But you need to put on each side if distance ring 0.1 mm thick metal sheet so that the distance ring become 0.2 mm thicker then blade in total. Or if you can get hands on precision grind tool steel, they are possible to buy in for example 6.00 mm or 6.20 mm. Go to my vide how to build one, there you can see.

Hi, our shredders are only human power driven. So if you like to do such project then contact us at filamaker@hotmail.com and we can make for you a special shaft on the shredder to be able to attache a chain sprocket. No extra charges.
if the IT-security shredder is still selling in about 1 and a half years time i will deffo be buying on as i am getting into it and fix alot of computers and most times people want there hdd's destroyed (i normally take the platters out and destroy them) and i can see this being useful, it does ship to uk dosent it?
The problem is that the program in which we keep does not have it and these plans are key to being able to develop the project that will help to end the problem of garbage in our neighborhood. This idea has no profit or gain, it is a project for the community. A hug and thank you very much

Normal will be 0,1mm but this ones are hand cranked so 0,2mm

No, it is too small for it, but check my other videos with IT-security shredder shredding 2,5" HDD
