Hi. This was a fun video. I was never into Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys as a kid, but my parents were. I saw them pretty cheap at BookOutlet, so I started collecting them. When I lost my Mom, I started reading Nancy Drew and felt a the enjoyment that I believe she did when she was young. I started reading the Hardy Boys prior to losing my Dad, and it was fun to reminisce with him about them. I never used to enjoy history, but I have an appreciation for it now. I look back on the 90s as "simpler times", but I realize the times were much more simple when Nancy Drew was written, and when my parents grew up. For me, I preferred the first book of the Hardy Boys and the second book of Nancy Drew. I've gotten through 5 or 6 Hardy Boys, and about 12 or 13 of Nancy Drew. I am working on collecting all the books, and reading through them over time. I really enjoy cozy mysteries, they are cozy. Have you ever heard of Rita Mae Brown and Lillian Jackson Braun? They are cozy myster authors who I adore. Rita Mae Brown has a few series of cozy mysteries, but my favorite is the Mrs. Murphy Mysteries, and she's been writing them since late 80s/early 90s. Lillian Jackson Braun writes The Cat Who... series, and that one is amazing. I will say, if you try to read The Cat Who, give it about 5 books, and you should read in order. I suggest the same for The Mrs. Murphy Mysteries, because the story and characters evolve over the decades. Anyway, have a good evening.
They were definitely much simpler times. I love that you have that connection to your parents through the books. I am not huge on cozy mysteries and have never heard of either Rita Mae Brown or Lillian Jackson Braun. I am trying to get more into the genre and will definitely keep them in mind to try. Thanks for the recommendations and the tips on reading them.
