- Matt Reeves DC Batman sequel seems to be getting pushed back further and further. Now we are hearing it’s going to be pushed back again beyond October 2026. Now this sucks and it’s got a lot of people worried that the film is going to be cancelled so let’s break it down and work out if people should actually be worried about the fate of this movie.

The source is questionable but I think I use that as the first talking point of the video but then expands into a larger conversation. I have seen many fans doubt whether or not the movie is even going to be made. I am 99% sure it will be made but I feel the delays are due to them changing the film to be a satisfying ending and that is what the majority of the video talks about. So please don't think the whole video is based just on the article from the start (I know I should have mentioned that in the video! Whoops!). The first 5 minutes or so is dedicated to what the article says but roughly the last 10 minutes is solely on my own views on the delay and why I think DC Studios wants The Batman 2 to be a finale movie. While you do make some valid points, I still believe The Batman Part 3 will happen, but I think the reason Part 3 hasn’t been confirmed yet is because they might be waiting to see the reception to The Penguin and Part 2 before committing to a trilogy. I think they might be planning on making Part 2 a conclusion to the story as it stands, but still having some plot points to be explored in a possible sequel, depending on its success. I think Gunn knows how much hate not making a trilogy (let alone canceling Part 2) would get him and he knows he needs to be in good standing with fans. Also, I don’t even think WBD would let him cancel it due to Part 1’s success. Besides, Gunn must be a fan if he wanted Pattinson as Batman in the DCU initially. I think a more realistic scenario is that he knows how long Reeves is taking (and probably understands it), so he’s delaying it that way he can get his Batman out without having to wait on Reeves or Reeves having to rush through his movie, which would hurt the brand. Maybe TBATB will take the October 2026 spot.
Gunn should have been made a head of the DCU only, he shouldn't have leverage on other universes

7:10 The division has been done years ago. It's inevitable, if Matt leaves because Gunn and DC are too brain dead then they can take their DCU to hell with them.

@@aaroneclipse514 The Penguin hasn't been the delay of Part 2. I don't think anyone has confirmed that to be the reasoning. Most have said scheduling conflicts or script changes.
Just like Tim Burton Batman . It supposed to make a third Batman film but got cancelled
thanks to McDonalds!they threw in about 3-4 mill dollars on the project to get toys in Happy Meals!Burton wanted to have graphic murders in it and McD pulled out and sued WB for their own mistake!so the script was finished, actors almost cast and paid!

How many times does James Gunn need to say The Batman 2 isn't cancelled? The Batman Saga is still happening DC fans just need to stop spreading false rumors.
I suggest waiting for refutable sources of info before reporting on pretty dramatic and sensational news like this. ( Having a lot of followers doesn't make you trustworthy) This news is more likely than not false, and reporting on it, especially from a source with no track record, makes no sense right? The person who wrote the article needs to learn more about the film's production. The title never comes up in the article. Pattinson's "hectic schedule" makes no sense since he hasn't signed onto any new projects. They call the Arkham series a Matt Reeves spin-off despite James stating it was folded into the DCU. They backtrack on the "only two movies" part. The part where they say, "These rumours can easily be dismissed as Reeves is busy working on spinoffs," is odd because they framed the article as a scoop and immediately dismissed their own info. A second delay never even comes up despite it being in their title. The article seems very amateur and they knew most wouldn't go past the headline and used that fact to their advantage. It sounds like the writer needed to fill his article quota and picked a buzz-worthy topic
I understand why you feel like that. I think the article really was the kick starter to a video I wanted to make anyway. People are concerned about part 2 being made. Many are fearful for it now actually being made. So my video initially is focused on the article but I think it turns into a larger conversation in the main section of the video about Part 2 being the final film. So like the first couple of minutes is talking about the article, but the rest of the video are just my own views and other fans opinions on the Batman franchise.

At first glance, the title and thumbnail give off the impression that official news just came out, especially when you argue that account size = trustworthiness. It feels purposely sensationalist to attract viewers and I truly do believe you shouldn’t report on news or rumours from sources with no track record. It’s no different from we got this covered or any random twitter scooper. You can still talk about your worries without reporting and sharing fictitious news sources. I respect what you do, so I don’t want to see talking about obvious rage bait stories, which I think isn’t responsible. Overall success of DCU > Batman 2. If garnering a successful DCU in the long run means scrapping Batman 2 then so be it. This would not be Gunn's fault, it would be the old DCEU execs.
I completely agree mate. People need to realise that so many of the issues DC has right now is due to the old regime and Gunn and Safran are getting the brunt of it for trying to fix it.

Batman 2 would probably be the most profitable out of all of DCU.

I think Zaslav would be the one to push for The Batman 2 to be made actually. It made them profit and he is in desperate need of that.

They need a Batman for the DCU and Reeves has other projects to work on before Batman. You’re suggesting it was always planned to be delayed but there is simply no evidence for it. I wish reeves batman could be apart of the new DCU that would be awesome. It's dumb that people think it's too grounded of a universe to have a justice league. That's how batman is supposed to be and that's what makes it interesting to see how he interacts with other heros with powers.

It's rumored that Andy Muchetti has been let go from the Batman movie. I have a hunch that Brave and the Bold will be directed by Reeves.
Its not canceled they had to delay filming because wb ran out of studios to film the movie in and gunns trying to get new DCU up and running after superman , then it will be Filmed next year remember the batman will probably be the first film with the elseworld title banner in front of it

Oh crap. Looks like The Batman Part 2 will be the final movie of Matt Reeves' Batman universe. I really want Robert Pattinson to at least have a Batman trilogy then done. But I guess they did it immediately so there will be only one Batman on the big screen in order to not confuse the audience. But still I really want a part three as the conclusion of The Batman saga. If this happens Robert Pattinson would be next to Henry Cavill where the studio treated him badly. This would definitely be like other DC sequels that is not good like the first one.
This is why I'm not listening The Batman 2 as one of my most anticipated movies coming up. I wanna make sure it's actually coming out before I do.

Pattinson's The Batman was supposed to be a standalone Ben Affleck Batman movie set within the DCEU but never happened. Might as well give part III the comic book treatment.

Considering how long the first movie was, the fact the second movie is going to have the events of two movies, it’ll be like 4 hours long!
My biggest gripe about Matt Reeves Batman film was the whole runtime too long. I think I would rather watch Zack Snyder’s Justice league movie now I know they are two different Directors and two different styles Zack Snyder is my preferred

The Batman was the most boring CBM I’ve ever seen so I couldn’t care if we never get the sequel. But I do think it’ll happen, they have Penguin coming which I’m sure will do well. I do think the Batman 3 could be in danger if the Batman 2 fails to bring in the audience though.
They could make the Matt Reeves universe movies be prequels to the DCU Batman, but I guess they want full control over their new universe without the restrictions set by existing movies.

Cancelled!? NOOOOO! I love movies and I love movies based on books and comic books. (Some video game movies too). I don't mind two different universes at the same time. They could eventually do a multiverse crossover with THE BATMAN's gritty reality and the DCU reality.

I found "The Batman" the worst Batman movie ever made. It's dull and made the character dumb. If Gunn's universe works out, I believe part 2 will be the last or maybe never see the light.

You have to keep in mind that Matt Reeves has been working on the Penguin show, that’s coming out this year in a few months. That’s likely why the movie is being delayed.
And to those who think Gunn is the problem, please remember that he’s the CEO of DC Studios. It’s his job to control DC and he has debunked any cancellation claims.
No the thumbnail is asking the question, is the Batman 2 cancelled? Which is one fear many fans have. I don't think it is misleading. Thumbnails are used to show what the video is about and I believe that title shows that.
@@OurMovieNews You didn’t provide a reliable source for the cancelation claim. The film simply got delayed, it would have been more accurate to include “DELAYED AGAIN?!” over cancelation since it suggests there is news the film got canned.
The cancellation claim is from fans. It's the fans asking the question, will it be cancelled or thinking it will cancelled. I don't need to provide a source for how fans feel.

As long as Matt Reeves is involved in Batman-related stuff in the DCU (maybe as the director instead of Andy Muschetti) I am fine with this. It sucks, but honestly, we knew it wasn’t sustainable.

WBD has only so much money/time to build the DCU. An Elseworlds Batman takes away from that. If they could WBD would like to fold Reeve's Batman into the DCU but apparently he does not want that. So yes, definitely no Batman 3. 2 is an open question,
The focus of the DCU will be the secondary characters. Not Superman or WW or apparently even batman. B&B is a Bat family film introducing new characters who will get their own films. Superman is introducing new characters as well with the rumor being Superman won't be much of a factor in the DCU. As in after the first film he will perhaps cameo but that is it. That rumor was not denied by Gunn in a direct way,
The purpose of the DCU is to create tomorrow's diamonds. New IPs to replace the older IPs as they go public in a few years - Superman, Batman and WW.

1-9 out of 15 theatrically released the old DCEU movies flopped at box office including , 2017’s justice league , birds of prey , Wonder Woman 1984 , the suicide squad , Black Adam , Shazam! 2 fury of the gods , The Flash , Blue beetle and aquaman 2 the lost kingdom
2-The old DCEU had no concrete plan
3-The old DCEU was so inconsistent
4-The DCEU franchise was so bad from the beginning to the end

Goyer agreed with host Joshua Horowitz that Warner Bros. should’ve developed a standalone Superman sequel with Henry Cavill instead of attempting to mount a cinematic universe with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The studio did so in order to compete with Marvel.
“I know the pressure we were getting from Warner Bros., which was, ‘We need our MCU! We need our MCU!’ And I was like let’s not run before we walk,” Goyer said. “The other thing that was difficult at the time was there was this revolving door of executives at Warner Bros. and DC. Every 18 months someone new would come in. We were just getting whiplash. Every new person was like, ‘We’re going to go bigger!'”
“I remember at one point the person running Warner Bros. at the time had this release that pitched the next 20 movies over the next 10 years. But none of them had been written yet!” Goyer continued in amazement. “It was crazy how much architecture was being built on air… This is not how you build a house.”
Goyer worked closely with Christopher Nolan on the “Dark Knight” trilogy and the two conceived of a Superman movie that would become Zack Snyder’s 2013 tentpole “Man of Steel.” Goyer wrote the film. But Cavill never got the chance to lead another standalone Superman movie, as the remainder of his time in the crimson cape was spent in universe-building tentpoles such as “Batman v Superman” and “Justice League.”
Prior to getting Batman and Superman movies off the ground, Goyer wrote all three “Blade” movies starring Wesley Snipes. He even directed the third film, “Blade: Trinity.
” He confirmed on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that he originally worked with David Fincher on bringing a “Blade” project to life.
“I developed a draft with Fincher before he had done ‘Se7en,'” Goyer said. “I think he had done ‘Alien 3’ and maybe he was developing ‘Se7en.’ I developed a draft with him. I remember going to our producers office… There was this giant conference table. Fincher laid out 40 to 50 books of photography and art with post-it notes inside them. He said, ‘This is the movie.'”
“[Fincher] took us on a two-hour tour around the table of the aesthetics of this scene, that character,” Goyer continued. “It was such a fully fleshed out visual pitch… I had never seen something like that before. A lot of that thinking infused my further revisions.”
Stephen Norrington ended up directing “Blade” and Fincher moved on to “Se7en” when the project hit roadblocks in development

I am so SICK of interconnected superhero universes. Really wish they had just let Zack Snyder finish up what he was doing and the same for Matt Reeves. Now without either film universe getting a proper final we're already moving on to another iteration. The Batman felt like a breath of fresh air because it wasn't weighed down by multiple other super-hero properties (homework). I'm ok with James Gunn doing a reset, but let the previous directors finish up what they had started previously before moving on to something else, it's less confusing for general audiences and is the best way to start the next thing on a proper foothold. Imagine if they scrap Matt Reeve's Batman series (along with Snyder's) and then James Gunn's new reboot fails at the box office, if he copies the same old Marvel formula (PUNCH! "Sarcastic Quip!" PUNCH!) I think there's a real chance that that could happen even though I'm routing for it to be good
