It's definitely a cleverly thought out mechanism, but it looks like it still needs some kinks worked out. For starters, the part which would grab a cartridge out of a magazine (called the bolt) normally is always the lower part, after all magazines are generally fed into a gun through the bottom and so you want the lower part of the bolt assembly to be what grabs cartridges from the magazine to place them in the barrel's chamber and eject them after firing. And the top part (called the bolt carrier) needs to be big enough to add the required weight in order to slow down the gun's cycling to a decent and acceptable speed, and the bolt carrier would also be what rides a rod with a spring over it in order to absorb the bolt carrier as it travels backwards, and then force it forward again under spring pressure to pick up another cartridge. But in the case of your design the bolt carrier needs to be dragged along by the bolt or else the locking part can't enter the slots cut in the trunnion. So that's something that needs redesigning.

well... yeah sure. but this is not a finish project, this is an explanation on how it could work you know.... so yes, some change will be needed. but i'm more worried about the firing pin, like i gess it will need to be at a an angle so to not interfer with the locking pin... and also how much pressure can the hole in the trunnion can withstand. and for how it grab a bullet, that's the job of the bottom of it, under the hole where the cartrige goes. like the bolt is not a square, it's like a fat ''T''. the ''I'' part of the T is what grabs a bullet and should fit between the lips of a mag.

@@oileau U can put a string on trigger and fire it a couple of meters away to make sure everything will be fine

that was indeed the plan. but it still feels ghetto and i'm like, not an engineer. so i'm gessing by eye and yeah... it's very wow

@markserbu do you think that can withstand 556?

In order to lock up the two rotating locking lugs rotate to the vertical position in the round cut out slots, that means that the entire force of the cartridge pushing back against the bolt are held back only by the 2 rearward facing corners on each bolt lug. It is the very worst design possible. In normal designs you have flat surfaces on the bolt lugs contacting flat surfaces of the bolt lug recesses, thus spreading out all the forces evenly and over the largest area possible. Your design does the exact opposite, all the forces are focused into the smallest surface area possible, a guarantee for rapid and catastrophic failure if you use a high pressure intermediate cartridge like a 5,56 NATO. As it is, your design would be suitable for .22 LR or .25 ACP, perhaps .32 ACP at most. You definitely have a knack for designing though, so if you try out other designs I'm sure you'll come up with a couple good ones!

yeah, im worried to about that, this is just an idea. the contact surface that matters could be increase by lengthening the pin lug or the overall diameter of it. now i'm thinking of a way to stop the hole in the trunnion from spreading. mayby with a external plate bolted on or something??
oh and you mentionned making it in 22lr? funny that you say that, you should look at the 22 ive made.. i find it very cool and clever lol. just look my other video. i like having feedback.

Do you have any plan with measurements for a single shot .22 rimfire bolt action system?

no i don't this is just to show how it works but i gess i could come up with something if you realy want it

well.. youtube don't allow me to exactly show you plans and stuff but i will see what i can do. i'm gonna siimplify it even more but do you want it metric or imperial? mm or inch?

In milimeters. Single shot with extractor.
