TL;DR
This patch might be the most fun we've had playing adc since season 7
Rakan with Symbiotic Soles giving Xayah a super fast recall will be cool
That's gonna get Rakan, Xayah, or the boots nerfed in pro play, calling it now.
Xayah can already get a super fast recall if Rakan times the recall right
honestly think its not even good for them because instead rakan could just start basing a bit sooner and Xayah will still not be delayed more
We. Are. BACK. SO BACK. I'm actually hyped for a patch for the first time in months.
Also hyped to see how you perform saber, as always, ty for the video, and good luck on the rift
the tech for ADC with Jack of All Trades is that Doran's Blade and Zerkers is already 5 stats.
(AD, HP, Lifesteal, Attackspeed, Movespeed)
The remaining options are Crit Chance, CDR, %Movespeed, %Armor pen, Lethality and maybe a few edge cases but those make it hard to get critchance
so anyone with a steroid (not named Ashe) might be able to do some kind of Essence Reaver & Flickerblades build,
EXCEPT are those really First Strike users over Press the Attack and the buffed Cut Down plus the Life Absorb in lane or maybe Triumph for Trist?
Unlikely.
the other issue is going to be fitting in the tenth stat if it's not Collector second delaying Flickerblades to third, and that you lose HP when you sell Doran's as well as Lifesteal if it's not replaced by a Lifesteal item (which also are hard to get critchance with now)
If someone wondering about swift boots nerf: they are changing it to prevent OP max movespeed support and mid builds (hello azzapp). And theres relentless hunter nerf too bc of it. If its not enough riot will probably nerf shurelia too next patch.
Leblanc and azir or tf are prob gonna build shiv mid since it's not crit anymore and has more as to roam faster with.
Those champs can all wave clear fine . LB bought shiv because she can charge and proc it very easily with her W not for wave clear .
@@brandon.d That is just false, the waveclear matters a lot for LB since you conserve mana and still get tempo. There is a reason she built shiv and never build RFC or other energized items...
so much changes, thx for the review
RFC losing 30AD matters a lot for Jhin, Caitlyn, and my Essence Reaver RFC "Magic Bullet" build that MFDB also loves.
At least you save 400g on it so you can recover 10AD at that timing by picking up your next Longsword.
Also it doesn't build out of Zeal anymore, so while it has %movespeed out of nowhere once you complete it, the Epic doesn't give that to you and that's a big deal; Zeal also got buffed this patch so that feels bad.
Everyone always forgets about MF in the Essence Reaver conversation just because Lethality crowds out everyone's brainspace.
Going infinite on mana matters so damn much for her ability to relentlessly wave clear efficiently and roam or get W time on a tower. And be more speculative with E's when she arrives somewhere or faces off for wave control or entry to river.
Quickblades was an additional Amp on the Q cheese plus recharging W faster for steroid as well as ability to reset Strut and get E back to control spacing.
I'm wondering if ER rush into some other statstick core and then going for the extra range on RFC once I have more AD to leverage the Attackspeed on will still work. But being able to cheese people out and siege for free off the back of that on just Two items was quite the monster in mid game and allowed me to close after winning lane, or at least gave me the chance to rattlesnake and surprise burst enemies sieging me or zoning me from epics if the game went wrong before I could snowball myself
The buildpath change to Terminus makes Ashe rushing it first great in even more games. You used to have to go Noonquiver if you didn't first back with BF money, so being able to get components of Hearthbound Axe is super clutch; it's replacing Noonquiver in the AD/AS laning Epic component slot, and builds into Kraken instead as well.
Not getting the extra Crit slot towards a lategame Infinity Edge because Kraken is losing it is sad, but it might just be a good enough standalone item and synergy with Terminus enough to make me not care; I still get the Crit slow from Volley.
Extra Hawkshot from Flickerblades is a cute luxury, but I don't think it's necessary if you're lane assigning and rotating properly. I'd rather have extra speed and raw DPS stats on Phantom to kite the frontrunner Aatrox or whatever, or else the Hurricane if I'm allowed to hit groups.
Classic shape of IE & Phantom rush might be back though, so I'm enticed to see how that stacks up against newer items like Kraken now that both options exist alongside each other.
All I read in this patch is xayah can finally buy IE now which is fking crazy
I absolutely recommend skipping through Phreak's Patch Rundown for this for ADC stuff if you're not just interested in everything.
He's obviously got the design intent and a jumpstart on theory-crafting the changes in a general sense (if not narrowly focused and specified to a Champion main), but also the Math
Mixed ideas about the ADC update tbh. The items are great and we finally see something new to the marksman role, some stuff seem a bit off (like the noonquiver), but i think we'll manage with time. The fact we finally have AD CARRY actually being the player on the team with the highest AD feels great, feel like we've lost that over the seasons.
What i dont like is how they decided to implement SUPER EXPENSIVE items into every buildpath. If an item is above 700 in my opinion, i struggle really hard to get it pre 20 minutes. Mostly bc of the fact you hate to recall and not get any new items so you buy more cheap stuff i.e daggers etc.
Removing LT feels weird though. In most ELOs hitting the enemy team is the hardest part, and now with the removing of that rune, i feel like i will need RFC to EFFICIENTLY be able to hit their team without stepping into dash/jump/whatever champion that are currently in the game. Having that distance LT has gives me and my team time to react on the assasins plays, something we'll lose now ESSPECIALLY since we are again INCREASING overall AD on the server, making ADC even more 1Shotable
You have to hit them 6 times to proc LT anyway? You still have to step up at first
blood thrister has shield again. and good positioning solves the problem you're trying to use LT and RFC to fix
@@scdocarlos1633 Im used to my support lastpicking mage and ignoring me the whole game, only reason i build it really. I also HATE dying no matter what, and the MS on RFC helps to leave fights if i come in a weird position.
RFC makes me only needing to hit 5 autos before max attack range, which to me in combination with the MS gives me more confidence. The item in itself is inferior to most others, especially on Jinx since her max Q is the same range, thats why i go between PD and RFC depending on matchup. If the enemy team has alot of dashes/high MS, i go RFC to keep range, if they got low cc/low ms/few dashes etc, i go PD.
Non of the items is in the highest WR buildpath, but i like to play them for the ms boost to more easily give myself a chance to position correctly in fights while its happening or before it- micro stuff. If they have a strong frontline i feel like ths MS is even greater since i can more easily move around while hitting them, sidestepping any CC.
Dont know though. My friend that has OTPd Jinx since like season 7 has always built it, and i merely followed in his steps. Nowdays he only goes PD, but hes in Master so his knowledge is far greater than mine, me being high gold/low plat.
@@isaaclangi3289 Damn, missed the shield completely. I'm gold brother, bad positioning is in my veins XD
But on a serious note, i rarely get a team comp im confortable to play without RFC on. The combination of range and MS gives me more confidence to play knowing i can sidestep CC. Without it i feel like im a snail. PD is better stats wise, but again i dont trust my team enough to CC incoming Assasins or whatever.
With my passive Jinx already has stupid damage as is, the RFC is more so a fallback item if it takes time to kill whatever is infront of me
a good buff for fleet would to give the ghosting effect from PD while it procs so if you proc fleet while chasing someone you dont have to worry about being creepblocked
could be, but i think thematically they may avoid it so line up the emphasis on footwork for fleet whereas pd gets ghost cuz "phantom"
I’m gonna try
IE, Collector, LDR, Yuntal, BT, Zephyr
Sure you get less lethality for your ult and you don’t have Rapidfire, but your headshot late game will be a nuke.
removing demat seems really bad for champions with poor waveclear. like i dont wanna play some champ that gets pushed into tower who suchs at last hitting on tower shot intervals if i dont have demat
WE'RE SO BACK BABY
No minion demat is giga sad
Tristana and Sivir with the new navori will go crazy
The XP change fixes a bug with people ARAMing and having the entire team in the same spot. Does not affect duo lane.
You’ll never hear someone in emerald or below be as excited as you for more Ashe e’s.
what does migrated to use data values instead of effect amounts mean?
coding wise. it was using different variables to determine the stats
adc and bot laning seems less miserable, i may deviate from aram spam now
8 seconds ago is wild
I feel like overall, the state of ADC is pretty good right now. Massive progress since the beginning of the season when burst fights lasted 3 seconds.
0:54 TIL bork had crit :p
I hope Sivir will be back on the menu, rush Quickblade + IE, crazy team fight
samee. But I have a good feeling she'll be back especially with Lethal Tempo being removed
So many new healing runes so we got the healing runes back for lanning to stay alive longer.
hell yeah
might be a hot take, but I think the AS cap needs to be removed. We've had the CDR cap removed for a while now
True but ability haste nowadays has diminishing returns (log scale) while attack speed scales linearly.
Imo this would make on hit champs like Kog op like when his W doubled his AS to cap at 5. Could also make enchanters that build Ardent like Lulu that give AS buff very strong too
@@Jaruppo Ability haste and attack speed have exactly the same scaling. 100% AH means 100% more casts in the same period of time while 100% AS means 100% more autos in the same period of time. Old CDR had exponential scaling where 20% CDR meant 25% more casts while 40% CDR meant 67% more casts.
@@Jaruppo Like MichaelLong777 points out, they both 'scale linearly' in the sense that 10% attack speed gives 10% more base damage and 10% AH gives 10% more base damage on your abilities. Another way to say it is that obviously attack speed also has diminishing returns, because the first 100% attack speed you buy doubles your DPS and the next 100% you buy only increases it from 200% to 300%, ie a 50% increase in DPS from the first multiplier.
People is sleeping on Lucian Essence Reaver / new Navori / IE and Xayah IE / new Navori, even Sivir could be could like that
Man I need timestamps, I don't have time for a full 40min video :S
First strike changes are so sad tho
A lot of these changes seem to be around return the game to a less warped state so its easier to balance moving forward. LDR having the passive removed and black cleaver been buffed is trying to give Tanks their Anti carry Identity back and bruisers their anti tank identity. Hail nerf is probably trying to remove the double ADC starts from pro play
A Lot of the ADC item changes seem to be about making Crit ADCs lose some of their extreme 1 item spikes like kraken but allow them to spike earlier from 100% crit if they opt for late game over Early game.
I'm surprised they kept first strike in and added the money back rune, extra ways to make gold changes item timings and creates more edge cases.
The only issue is damage is still high, loss of range from Lethal temp and defensive items been even further relegated to last item fights might be even harder to navigate.
PTA looks strong though you can keep it up on waves and can retrigger the damage that also seems to be empowered
Where in the world do you have it from that tanks should be anti-carry and bruisers be anti-tank? DPS is the only solution to a tanky character, so the only way to deal with tanks is with ADCs or DPS-mages. In other words, the way the game works carries are anti-tank, not the opposite. ADCs are generally pretty useless at everything else than dealing with tanks and hitting objectives.
On the surface it seems to me too that they are moving more power to scaling and crit, which it should be obvious for everyone is the exact opposite of what they should do. The big systemic problem with ADC is that it takes too long to get online and actually have any sort of agency over the game, which is directly caused by the reliance on several multiplicative stats (AD, AS, crit, pen) that scale 'too well' together and is exacerbated by the decreased XP for being in a duo lane. This direction would only make the problem worse and make the role even less fun and have even less agency.
@@theWebWizrd the basic design identity of these champions, it's why bruisers like Darius and mord have inbuilt pen stats ... And malphite has add armour values and an attack speed slow ...
@@theWebWizrd yes a full build adc can deal with a tank , but their natural kit cannot deal with a tank ... Where bruisers can deal with tanks without items or with 1
@@ktakkakashi6500Bruisers can't do shit to tanks in teamfights. Tanks aren't strong 1v1, they're strong in teamfights, and the only class who can get rid of a tank in tfs is adc.
Bruisers are DPSed to oblivion by adc, CCed by mages, tanks and supports; tanks will take forever to kill each other, mages don't deal damage after one rookern/fon, and supports aren't even meant to do anything except utility.
No-item adc can hardly pvp anyone on the map lol, except nami and shit. It's not because tanks are good vs adc
@@ambiguousspotlightofinsani6764 yeah exactly, bruisers can 1v1 tanks ( usually they can 1v x) , it's an option to split and avoid team fights.
And bruisers only melt in team fights once carries get to like 3+ items which people seem to be forgetting is like 22-25 minutes usually a game is decided by then . ( Also aatrox , Red Kayne, Darius have enough healing that even then they're quite durable ).
If you look at a lot of pro teams playing varus right now when they still build him lethality in to heavy tank teams, usually because they know he can't DPS a tank consistently with the onhit build so they just prioritise poke and blowing up priority targets
I kind of love the Noonquiver lane nerf, it often felt wrong to buy anything else than that. I love having many options and variety!
We are so back! Aphelios is gonna be viable again
ADC is dead or not?
45MS 35%AS
7%MS 50AD 40%AS
80AD 25%CC 50%CD
25%CC 35%AS 7%MS
Total:
45+14%MS
130AD
110%AS
50%CC
So 20% more AS 7% more MS 5 less AD 10% less CC, but only because you went kraken, I wouldn’t be surprised if the build is ie huracane ldr pd? bt
you made QSS more expensive and gave it nothing, and it was already never bought😭
They should just outright remove QSS at this point, they have been removing every reason to build slowly and steadily.
Where does this leave kogmaw… not happy.
To be fair this does open the possibility to implement Navori into the build more naturally (without giving up rageblade) and getting that perma W.
@@Aynshtaynn god i hope so. spent the last year learning adc to plat and i can only climb with koggy
;-;
I'm just worried about no tempo to go above 2.5 attack speed for kog
@@diggity.-.8549 at least we got to enjoy him being viable for a few days
He’s fine. Try him with his OG build - he used to be a triforce-crit machine because he had one of the longest ranges and his R made it easy to proc triforce. That’s the Kog I miss.
nicee
Did some calculations on my favorite champ build (JINX) first 3 items and boots:
14.9:
Berserkers (35%AS, 45MS) 1100G
Kraken slayer (40AD, 35%AS, 20% CRIT) 3000G
Infinity Edge (65AD, 20% CRIT, 50% BONUS CRIT DAMAGE) 3300G
Rapid Firecannon (30AD, 20%AS, 20% CRIT, 7% MS) 3000G
=
135AD
90% AS
60% CRIT (bonus 50% from IE)
45MS + 7%
= 10400 GOLD COST TOTAL
14.10
Berserkers (35%AS, 45MS) 1100G
Kraken Slayer (50AD, 35%AS, 7% MS) + new passive. 3100G
Infinity Edge (80AD, 25%CRIT) 3400G
Rapid Firecannon (35%AS, 25% CRIT) 2600G
=
130 AD
105% AS
75% CRIT (IE BUFF GONE?)
45MS+7%
=
10200 GOLD COST TOTAL
In other words, IF the bonus crit damage from IE is gone this is actually a nerf. We have 15% more AS and CRIT, but we trade it for 50% less bonus crit damage, and personally i think this is a nerf due to the removal of LT. Now with most ADC being forced to go PTA or Fleet, The AS bonus is bigger, but only 450G worth of a difference on a 10k gold spending spree (5% of TOTAL spent) The bonus 15% crit is also only worth about 600G, but again we trade it for losing IE passive.
I see this as a trade-off not really much of BUFF. We now get forced into better sustain (fleet) in trade for lower overall damage, or PTA which is full on bulldozer energy. We are still as squishy, still have lower MS than most if not all current meta picks IF we include DASHES/LEAPS etc. We get more attackspeed, but that difference is nullified on the 3RD auto on enemy with LT. 15% more crit, which sure can be a difference maker but in my opinion will in itself be nothing since we now have to walk closer to the assasins then ever before AND somehow not die/let team have the reaction time to stop a flying Khazix or Kayn etc from a wall. And that 15% more crit will only STATISTICALLY WE WORTH IF YOU AUTO 6.67 TIMES (point of guaranteed crit with 75%)
If i keep going, im getting more sad as a JINX player tbh. My 3rd/4th is usually a zeal item. If i skip out on RFC i lose that 1 auto to have a higher chance of proccing PTA for my team., which in some cases CAN BE A DIFFERENCE MAKER. Say if i go PD instead, now i have 130 bonus AS flat, but now i have to really hit 3 autos and come out alive, and what do i need then? Ghost or flash- and if i dont? well its like running into a room full of shotguns while wearing only PJs D:.
LDR now has removed its pasive so i only gain 40% flat Armor pen, which is slighlt worrying tbh. In some games i've had my LDR passive do 30k, now thats just gone? Krakens new passive isnt exactly covering up for that.
BT lost its crit so if i go that 4th instead of LDR im now stuck with no EXTRA AD above 70% HP, i LOSE crit so still stuck on 75%, and i'm now at 210 AD with 4 items+boots.
Stattik 2nd and IE 3rd? Well then i only got 50% crit bc Stattik no longer gives any more. The item is cheap, but its buildpath is horrendous (new noonquiver AND HEARTHBOUND AXE???? WHERE IS MY DAMAGE)
Stormrazor 2nd? NAH REMOVED LOL
BOTRK? Well now i have to hit 3 autos in order to proc passive slow which will already be hard in lategame + it got nerfed from 9% onhit to 6% onhit for ranged. Does it give crit? NOO so i'll yet again be stuck on 25/50/75 crit if i dont go it last item.
The only logical thing i feel like is viable is to go Zephyrs 4th and play the praying game the team can frontline. Just so u can have the AS% to guarantee PTA proc.
Just my opinions though, so plz dont flame
the bonus crit damage from IE is not gone, those patch notes only mention stats that have actually seen changes, it's still 50% bonus crit dmg on IE
IE is the same as before, they just buffed the AD and Crit chance.
Why are you building Rapid fire as standard on Jinx now, and why would you be building it and Kraken next patch?
Don't build anything that has no Crit until 100% after this patch.
All these examples in your post - Shiv, Botrk? When was Jinx building these anyway? That's like complaining about, idk, if Shurelya's was nerfed =P
@@riskytiago thats good, i was a bit worried
@@isaaclangi3289 Good thing to know, since it wasnt mentioned i was 50/50 if it still was a thing
I just miss 35% crit chance PD. It should have more.
Personally, I would rather get 33% crit items so we can have two item slots even if they make them with less ad or attack speed. We need more effects on adc that scale with crit chance. This is why I love the corki changes.
good vid, but you gotta fix your mic peaking every other minute. You're not tyler 1
1eme
Kraken no longer gives cc, so it’s 50%cc in total, if it doesn’t say removed, it’s still there, ie is 80 ad 25%cc 50% crit damage, so all your conclusions are wrong.
