16:18, I believe replicate creates copies of the spell, so Mike would have only been able to counter 1 of the 3 shattering sprees on the stack, not all of them
Yeah this is wrong... the replicate copies have to be countered separately. I believe you can stifle the replicate trigger to effectively counter all the replicate copies, but you'd still need a counter for the original as well. Shattering spree is run in godo for this reason, because you can doubletap or tripletap a Null rod. Mike cheated.
16:57 Don probably takes a look at Mike's graveyard when determining if he wants to counter the Yawgmoth's WIll, rather than his library. I really like the idea of a lightning round video. So many games resolving quickly in one video
Man, godo did work! Great games! And I honestly like these types of videos. More content, more games from the same players and decks. You get to see more of the interactions the decks have, which is really awesome seeing as lists change from time to time.
Definitely my favorite commander live play content on UA-cam. These videos are the perfect length with insightful commentary. Keep up the amazing work!
Love how fast the format of this video allows the game play to be. I'm a noob and had to rewind once to figure out what happened but still really really nice to watch.
Similar. Then I think about how much some of those lands and artifacts cost and I'm just like...I'm fine playing my single GW fetch and some shock lands with my Unlimited Sol Ring.
I agree with you. I actually happen to be a person who has all the original dual lands and fetch lands, along with most of the shock and Buddy lands. At the end of the day I mostly enjoy them for the sake of my collection. And despite my life of competitive commander I still think the best games are the kitchen table games.
Wonderful editing! You don't waste Any time and put the correct triggers on screen and the cards played are shown very well. And great games! Keep up with the nice work
Godo, helm, and mana rocks. Maybe a hammer of nazahn and panharmonicon to dual trigger godo like they did. Pretty much the whole deck. Include any meta stuff you want.
I really enjoy the games. They are concise, and the editing is a blessing. I like content like the CommandZone but I also like being able to watch the game in a reasonable amount of time. To anyone saying the decks are underpowered, I prefer seeing decks that aren't the same 100 "cEDH" cards. I understand the point being made, but I favor variety.
while lots of people will call them underpowered, those powerful decks are strong in a blind meta or in a vacuum while these guys have likely swapped cards over time specifically to play against each other so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Love the videos!! Not many people upload competitive EDH videos that are this well shot and edited. Keep up the good work!! I'd maybe like to see a best of 3 where everyone uses the same deck if possible, for the "normal" episodes.
Thoguh there were some missplays, this was great... 3/4 games my fave won :D All thos fancy wizzards with their fancy blue mana... dont mess with the Bandit warlord! :O Cant wait to see more of these games. Amazing job you guys!
Would love to see another tournament. I'm trying to get into EDH now and thinking about getting Heavenly Inferno for its Angel love. I want to see more content with the hopes of building a strong EDH deck around Kaalia and my Angels to pick up wins :)
Don made a mistake, the Wheel cast from grave should have untapped his mana rocks. Mike made a mistake the force of Will can't counter shattering spree this way, you have to counter them all individually (or stifle the replicate trigge and also counter the original)
Hello. Could you also post the deck list for Scion of the Ur-Dragon? Thanks. I was looking for it in the description but it wasn't there. I'm interested to see how the build looks like.
As opposed to sitting there and playing solitaire with the Stax or infinite combo deck that you just net-decked. Please. Commander is fresh because players can change up the pace and run pure aggro. I don’t even play red but it gets boring when everyone plays the same combo decks. I’m sure if you like long drawn out games there’s always the old folks home in your local area, where you can sit down and play some gin or backgammon for 6 hours. “I’m so sophisticated and creative because I proxied a Sisay deck I found online.”
i would love to see more, maybe a shot description on how the won(how a combo works for us never player) beside from that i cant think of anything to add or remove
During the off season, we will be working on some deck techs which will describe some of these combos. In the meantime, The Spike Feeders UA-cam channel just started a new series called "Know Your Combos" or something like that. They will be adding new combos all the time, so be sure to check them out!
Love love love the format you have crafted here. We don’t need to see their hands, we just want to see the gamplay as one would watching on, you’ve trimmed everything unnecessary and left only the good stuff. Fantastic, even love the amazing ULTRRRAAAA bits.
@@AtRxBetrayal Thank you! I have a Gitrog ValueTown and it runs a little slow sometimes, but I love it. I noticed the Titania, Protector of Argoth and that is exactly the playstyle I am trying to make work. I have the obvious combos for Gitrog, but less sorceries or instants than your deck. That Torment of Hailfire goes perfect with Skirge Familiar!
So I don't think Mike can target Dylan's mana rock in response to tapping for mana. This is what I found: 605.3b An activated mana ability doesn't go on the stack, so it can't be targeted, countered, or otherwise responded to. Rather, it resolves immediately after it is activated. (See rule 405.6c.) The rift should have gone through
I would like to see these changes: 1) Playmats always taped so they don’t move during gameplay 2) More clear and untap and draw steps 3) Better lights 4) More commanders to be played 5) Make some deck techs of the most popular decks You are awesome, so please continue to make videos even without those suggestions
Great video and good work on these. I know it's hard to play on camera, and then be picked apart later, but I did want to note a few things as I know it helps to realize mistakes. In game 1, Don cast a Lim-Dul's Vault in his main phase. This is an instant and is best with more information (like the Boiling Seas), and could have helped him grab something in order to save himself during the following turn. Even if he only grabs a bounce, sending Godo to hand or found removal for Panharmonicon. Later, I think the Force use on the Bloom Tender saved tempo, but prob better off not using one of your best cards to stop a mana dork that early. That aside, I think the group could be helped by considering the boost of Wheel effects to other people. It isn't just about helping yourself
I believe he exiled Preordain, but I cannot be positive as he didn't announce it when we were playing, so I didn't want to include it in the commentary and be wrong.
I also like to make my own decks work. I have a playgroup that despises infinite combo's and it's really hard for me to close out games. Almost every game is a grid/slugfest and I need some good wincons in mono black, orzhov and dimir. Any ideas?

I was going to comment the same thing.
Same, I came straight to the comments after seeing that. But my fellow magic players caught it already.
I was looking for this comment
Glad I wasn't the only one to see this.
PLEASE DO NOT STOP MAKING THESE VIDS!!!!!
Agree!! I like this ligthing round format for this video.keep it guys.
"Don loves infinite combos and the intricacies of getting them."
The intricacies of getting them:
-Tutor 1 piece, tutor the other piece.
Don has a hard rule of no netdecking, hes looking for his first win. Respect but i still spit laughed.
I swear to God almighty I was about to post the same comment! :D
He had the fastest win of the series and would have taken the entire set if not for his WoF misplay with engine.
Don missed his paradox trigger on wheel of Fortune
He didn't need a 0 drop
Wheel of Fortune should have untapped everything
That's correct! We razzed him a lot for that misplay :) Let's just say he doesn't make that mistake anymore...
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG he probably had game
I am so happy you posted this. I paused the video and read both cards, then assumed I didn't know how Paradox Engine worked with that interaction.
That missplay costed him the game :o
came down here to say the same thing. also there was an issue with shattering spree
I knew this was the highest quality CEDH gameplay when I saw that squirtle. That card is BROKEN
I agree I don't know why it's not banned. Its destroying the format!
Which card is it?
@@thethinkingroom4532 without looking back imma guess a token or copy card
I absolutely love glass canon decks like Godo and seeing him take 2 wins against such strong decks was awesome to see
Gotta say this is some of the best magic content on the internet. Amazing quality packed in a fantastically fast video format. Great job

It appears I did. Whoops. There was a guy who wanted to build it.

it would they. made tons of mistakes

I love how much the quality of this is improving. I'm really proud of your guys work
Doesn't forcing one copy of a twice-replicated Shattering Spree result in 2 resolving instances of the Spree?
Yes! You can counter one of them, but even countering the original before the triggered abillity (replicate) won't stop said abillity.
I am constantly on the edge of my seat when I watch these.
I freaking love Ryans decks, and that god damn playmat is soooooo good!

The list in the video is older. The one on tappedout is more current.
Wait why does Force of will counter all copies of shattering spree?
it shouldn't
It shouldn't. It was a misplay on our part. It should only counter one of the copies.
Game 4 I believe why didnt don go for the ad nauseam turn 1? He saw 2 counters used already
I was also confused, as I thought that could have been a T1 win
