Man City and Liverpool have considerably larger stadiums ,If we had the same capacity as them I'm sure the ticket price would be far less. I do agree though it should be cheaper than it's current pricing.
Heck cancelled the expansion, he stated he wanted the Villa park crowd to witness the CL and now he's pricing them out the market, you will not see sell outs for all 4 games!😮
I disagree on it being greed, it's not like this money is going into the owners pockets. It's going into the running of the club
Yeah, like not being able to get in the turnstiles against Arsenal a couple of weeks ago and paddling in urine in the toilets. They’re running it brilliantly, aren’t they?
Totally accept that point... But fans shouldn't have to prop up the club's day-to-day running. If we aren't sustainable without steep, year-on-year ticket & merchandise increases - we're being poorly run.
BOOTLICKER
I don't think it is greed. I don't think the prices have been set to make profit in order to make the owners rich.
The prices have been set to generate revenue so that more money can be spent.
This doesn't make it right of course. The prices are shocking. But calling it greed is a bit of a misunderstanding in my opinion.
It's attempted greed. The missing part is people are more likely to part with even more money on the day if the ticket was decently priced. I'll still be going to Bayern and Juve at those prices, but I won't be going in the club shop or getting food / drink in the ground.
@@1HoVI disagree. Maybe it's semantics but I think calling it greed misses the point and isn't helpful.
If anything, it is to feed the "greed" of the players and their agents, not the owners or Chris Heck.
@@1HoVI agree with your remark about the lost sales of additional goods. Was thinking about that this morning. Would be interesting to see the final numbers to see if e.g. Holte End spend on drinks and food goes down by the same amount as the increase in ticket price revenue.
I think it's more a case of "if they wanted to, they would". The club doesn't NEED £94 tickets in order to survive. They could set it at £50-£60 (as they do every other week) and get by just fine.
Brilliant, fill it full of tourists. No singing and a soulless pit. A sad day?
Very pal.
We tourist fans are also a part of the pride... you can go to Villa every week, we can not. I pay 1000 to see my team (Villa)
"HECK OUT" signs at the champions league games please Villa fans.
I'd do it myself but I can't afford it.
Seriously 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You have to be kidding! You could still go to another game with ya “HECK OUT” sign! If you don’t have. Season ticket you would never get to a champions league game!
@@patrickreade6119 Did I make a joke?
@@nathanmoore7120 I will be going to the regular games with my Heck Out sign.
That's why I asked people to do it at the Champions League games because I can't go because of the ridiculous prices.
You should really learn to read Nathan.
Excellent pod guys and excellent points raised. It is horrendous pricing
If you’ve got kids , these prices .. it’s a killer ..
Kids or not it's a rip off
US supporter here with a little Villan. This reeks of the American sport mentality where taking your partner and kiddo to a game is a luxury expense that you can manage a couple of times annually at best. It’s dreadful.
@@jorgesotherusername following Arsenal & Man U’s lead into “Americanizing” English football by pimping out the brand as much as possible.
Only mugs pat stupid prices to fill multi millionaire pockets! My hard earned cash goes on family, kids, and my Aston Martin DB9! Which I got by NOT chucking my money at Villa for 3 years! Been a Villa fan for 30+ years! And I'm very happy with my fat bank, and watching Villa on TV in the comfort of my home Cinema! I only go to Villa Park now on special occasions bout 3x a season! "Do u wanna drive an Aston Martin" or go to every Villa game every season!? Best thing my wife ever said to me!! 😂🙏
Villa are dining at the top table, what do you reckon ?
The prices are fair.
To run a club at top tier is expensive and l've been waiting 42 years for UCL to come back around and l would have paid £500 to watch any game at Villa Park and £1000 to watch the finals. As a fan l realise that the chance of Villa making the UCL in my lifetime again is probably very slim so lap it up l reckon. UTMV🦁👍
In what world are the prices fair?
You don't see this from the likes of Bayern Munich.
@@joebees21 Bayern are in the UCL every year. They have compensated for this since the last time we beat them in the final in 1982.
Villa does not have the Luxury of being in Bayerns position nor are they on the same financial standing to compensate to the same degree.
If Villa get lucky enough to be a constant player in the UCL then of course the club should utilize it's position to better facilitate costings to help the fans.
Villa Fans should be more understanding of this and back the club to help it get a more permanent position in participating in the UCL on a more constant basis, only then does ticketing packages become more obtainable as the European money becomes more of a constant year in year out.
UTMV🦁👍
@@johnkearney478 So why can Newcastle have lower prices?
We aren't a London club that has supporters that can afford this.
Yes we're a prestigious club but at the end of the day we're from Aston.
@@joebees21 Yes we are from Aston, l cannot give you that answer why Newcastle's pricing was far cheaper than The Villa's as l'm not privy too or have information regarding that.
I'm thinking there's 2 reasons on The Clubs stance on such price increases on top of season tickets and the like.
1- ln the last 2 seasons corporate facilities at VP has increased 10 fold, so they did the maths and weighed up probabilities and came up with such increases where they thought the bigger $$ would not hurt as much even considering the economic climate for the working class where it is a very different spectrum regarding hardship.
I'm thinking as a person looking in that in the boards and owners minds is that the pro's for such an increase outweighed the cons for advancing the revenue stream for the Club in general. I can understand this way of thinking by the club as each corporate box brings in roughly £14,000 per season so one could understand the generalized train of thought by the Clubs Hierarchy which in reasonable regards was a fair recognition of the clubs genuine standing within the last 2 seasons considering performance on the park and revenues gained through sponsorship, corporate and massive worldwide following for Villa to be in this position.
2- Now the problem with this is always there will be undertones from the general fan and rightly so that such increases are wholy unfair and can be seen as catering for wealthier class of fan who will pay anything just to get a seat at Villa's first European Game against a Club in Bayern Munich who have a serious bone to pick with The Villa over 1982.
And other home games as well.
This 2 fold scenerio is unjust on one side and up for grabs at any price on the other side. It's a very unfortunate circumstance for those life long Brummy's who were there during Villa's very dark years where home games were lucky to pull 15,000 die hard fans.
But with modern day football and the money it generates does no die hard fan any favors and this is what the game has become. In essence Villa needed NSWE or the unthinkable was a serious deadset probability.
The question still remains, Has The Club overlooked ticket pricing at the expense of the die hard fan or is the Club right in it's calling for upping the price of tickets where they know other die hard fans will pay anything to get a seat watching Villa's UCL matches at home.
It truly is a very difficult situation for the club but in recognition for the fans being patient Villa should open the gates for a free home game for the Clubs beloved fans who missed out and make it a true family day out. That right there would probably redeem a lot of good faith back in the Club ... it's only a suggestion but l reckon the right one... UTMV🦁👍
Your talking as this might never happen again so that makes it ok . . That's a stupid way of looking at it. . So you reckon Southampton. and the other two promoted team should pay 200 +. Pounds for games against top 6 clubs because thay mightn't play them again for a few years or more . Give it a rest
Looking forward to playing at Villa Park. Forza Juve. Fino alla fine. 🏴☠️🏁
Good to see you boys cover this. I think they have gone too far with this one
Villa fans please.. you want our club to compete with the best and buy the best players, so it needs paying for . Chelsea charge that vs Bournemouth ffs .
So because Chelsea rip off their fans... That makes it okay? Because their spending is out of control, they now set a model that all other fans should accept?
This is only the start. .Sorry it started two seasons ago with prices for tickets. . You got to look at other clubs who play in the champions LGE . Aston Villa are overcharging the loyal supporters. . Also Aston. Villa. will resive about 30 million just for taken part. . That just for starters.
I’m priced out. My only hope is we’ve qualified by the Bologna and Celtic games and the price gets reduced and I miraculously get a ticket or two.
Who to blame. The person who demand the price of the ticket OR. the person whos prepard to pay it. .
The club taking advantage of our love for our club is somehow our fault?
The question was who fault is it. . If you keep paying the high prices and do nothing about it it's your fault
Do something about it
Villa fans make fickle fans look well balanced. A few weeks ago people were praising Heck for the sponsorship deals he was negotiating. Now they want him out. We want success but as long as someone else pays for it. Not sure comparing attendances in a relegation season to a season when we are in the champions league is a bit of a stretch. People who don't understand football finance, PSR and the need to make profits to make the club sustainsble. Maybe they should reduce all ticket prices and just sell all our best players every season.
PSR is to blame. If the club, who is willing, is to throw money into the team to make sure we stay here then they have to generate as much revenue as possible. I think it's unfair to say this is pure greed. Do you enjoy this? then we will have to do our part to help sustain us at this level. We were evidently very close to a points deduction as it was.
Well done lads. Heck out!!!!!!!!!!!
@@VillanFGer86
What an absolute ridiculous comment to make.
Obviously you think of yourself as a better man for Chris Hecks Job.
We should put you in that position and see if you stack up to the plate, sounds fair l reckon !!
Pull your head in mate👍
Seriously, please separate revenue and PSR. PSR is a joke. These prices are also a joke, but they are completely separate things.
You want to be a top club in Champions League then these are the consequences for that. Can’t have it both ways.
On your point I give you Newcastle last season £55 Liverpool this season £61. This is fair 97 to 85 isn’t
exactly , people think the club owe them cheap tickets after we get to the mountain top? sorry they need to show as much revenues as possible to keep the train going. everyone was also crying because they couldnt get more players in due to PSR, the extra 4m or 5 m revs for the games could have got us that RB... too many football manager wannabees villa fans
@@adamhughes8612 I’ll give you Newcastle but Liverpool is in CL or thereabouts EVERY YEAR. They have the guaranteed revenue already from past years. Villa don’t have that yet.
You don't have to pay to get into the Champions League. The Champions League pays out for the club... It's why it's the most desirable competition in world football and has been re-modelled to have even greater commercial impact.
Ticket sales are negligible by comparison.
@@HeartOfTheHolte I’m shocked you don’t think you have to pay to get into champions league. You pay dearly by bringing in better players/coaches etc. Make no mistake, you pay for CL
I was at the last champion league game in 1983 against Juventus and I've waited over 40 years for this , I would happily pay £200 to see villa play Munich or celtic and Villa Park , we are now eating at the top table, they are serving up rubbish down the road and anyone is welcome to it
As a Yank, I love how much Brits fight on ticket prices. These prices would be considered cheap in the US
What are u talking about the prices are three times the price of the Europa conference games
Not sure about this take. No one likes paying more, no doubt. But these are Champions League tickets. Can anyone honestly expect them to be similar pricing vs Southampton? Golf and Tennis tournaments have turned into celebrity meet ups. Yes it sucks, but what do you expect? These are the greatest sporting events in the world. Us middle class folks are out priced and Im okay with that. Maybe do better in life if you want nicer things. Im okay watching it on tv. Maybe i splurge and go to one game…
Whilst Wimbledon can provide a venue for celebrity meet-up, it is actually some of the best value for money in sport. They charge £27 ground pass for 12 hours of tennis.
Both tradition and success can be achieved by providing a mix of appropriately priced standard seats which maintain a traditional fanbase and higher quality corporate seats which allow for “celebrity meetups”
all i notice is, none of the season ticket holders care, that people without have to pay £78 to watch wolves? wheres the uproar about that? There isnt any, becuase it doesnt affect the 33000 with season tickets. There are more than jsut 33000 villa fans. But it only matters when season ticket holders have to pay £78...? people buying normal tickets dont care so much because its only a £20 price rise. I think season ticket holders dont appreciate how cheap their season tickets are, and the fact it gets them a 50% discount. A lot of fans are offended that season ticket holders are crying out so much about this only becuase it affects them, classing none season ticket holders as lesser fans even though we probably spend the same amount if not more per season. Lets hope YOU season ticket holders, also call for regular prem tickets to be cheaper than £78 too? fat chance of that though.
Gentlemen - it is not ‘your’ club, you don’t own it, you are not part owners in it (unlike in Germany where clubs are structured this way) but you choose to support it. You are a fan and nothing more. As am I. Choose you perspective - see glass half full is my advise you will have a happier life & enjoy such rare evenings at Villa park etc as a result 👍🤞🤩
Any suggestions on how else Villa can compete with Man City?
We aren't backed by a nation state. We can't. And even if we could, it most certainly wouldn't start by taking cash from the working people of Birmingham.
This is really the silliest thing ever. I can buy tickets for my family of 4 to see a Champions League Villa match for the price of 1 ticket (in the worst section) to see my college football team play. Y'all are being so ridiculous. I'm sorry.
I'm surprised Villa fans ARE surprised by this! I've been knowing this is coming for ages! Wrexham fans will be slowly experiencing same as they rise.....it's Modern football now.🤔
The worlds been run on greed forever 🤷♂️
the reality of it is if you want to challenge for the top spots you got to pay the top prices thats football
So why don't Liverpool, Newcastle, Man City, Bayern, BvB etc charge the same prices?
because they make alot more in merchandise sales advertising because there brand is worth more so until our club is as big as the big clubs we have to make the money up in other areas
everyone is crying. people wanted big time football they got it, and it comes at a price.... its a business. I gaurantee you VP will be sold out for all the games even though all the people are crying.
Why is it a higher price at Villa than Newcastle?
I dunno guys, yes they're expensive but the amount of money the owners have injected into the club, I don't htink it's greed that they want to claw some money back for further investment. They did achieve the goal of reaching UCL after all
Supply and demand, it's market forces that set the price. If season ticket holders don't want to pay the price someone else will, because you have a season ticket for premier games, doesn't mean you should automatically be granted cheap tickets.
The 'supply and demand' point falls flat IMO... But I see your point. We're not asking for 'cheap' tickets - just those in line with what we see from other clubs.
Mate, this is not Oasis....
Other than regular Villa Park goers, who is going to supply the demand to pay a hundred quid to watch Villa? If you overprice your product, it won't sell.
Sorry they have priced the real supporters out of the market. At those prices I will only be able to watch the match on TV🤬😩
You won't be alone unfortunately mate.
Just look at the costs of Villa apparel. Constantly going up every year.
We have the same adidas prices as everyone else
@@AlexBTexas but it was cheaper under kappa and arguably just as good designs imo
@@fredred5037 and the prices were set by the manufacturer, as they always have been. Villa's prices are the same as every other club who has adidas as the kitmaker.
I personally preferred Luke shirts, however you pay for the brand, Adidas charge more
Its more expensive to watch villa on champions lge nights than Liverpool. Celtic Arsenal and Man city and some people think its alrright do me a favour . And for this i love the Club. . This is What the club you love think of you. Its simple. PAY. Up. Or. F ---k. OFF
40 yrs since European nights the fans are ALWAYS the first to get the brunt of the cost of tickets it's so wrong essentially high profile players come to join us they HAVE to get PAID the fans unfortunately are paying their wages!!!!!
Chris Heck is doing what he has been bought in to do raise revenue and match the ambition of the owners its a cop out to blame him,a week ago people were moaning about not spending enough you cant have the best of both worlds unfortunately.
Its an interesting one, the majority of fans felt the biggest issue was availability of tickets in that Birmingham newspaper poll, the club had to sell Luiz because of financial issues. I can see the emergence of a fans team like what happened with some of the other big clubs. Maybe Birmingham St. George reemergence? Its happened in the Irish GAA, fans would to to every game of the season and then cany get a ticket for the final because rich people want their bored kids to go.
Liverpool and Man city get into the champikns league regularly. We are selling academy players to stay within PSR.
Not only overpriced the off field experience at VP is a joke and 3rd rate at best , dry humped by my club
It's a very bad move from the club it's taken the polish off the champions League already .
I do agree that it’s a big price increase but you will all still pay for the ticket and go!
You would have more credit if you stand your ground and don’t go to the game.
If you have a season ticket and don’t decide to go because you think it’s too expensive, then fair play to ya. However, can I buy the ticket? I will pay you £100 so you make a drink on it?
How do you know the Bologna & Celtic games will be dead rubbers.? I bet we could sell out Villa park for the Celtic game just by only selling tickets to Celtic fans.
Disgraceful thumbnail for this episode. Always remember it isn't YOUR club, you are a supporter. You don't have to pay these prices no one is forcing anyone to go.
But thats the point they know people will go regardless
It's more 'our club' than Chris Heck's mate, I can tell you that for nothing. Our self-styled 'President' has no claim to what we - the fans - have built over the past 150 years.
@@patrickreade6119 You're really weird man. It is OUR club.
Chris Heck isn't gonna be your friend just because you swallow his shit.
A combined ticket for all four games, why should fans be able to monopolise getting to all four games when so many can't get tickets for one. Villa will be full for every game, fact. If people decide not to go then i will get the chance to take my lad to a european game, driving from Blackpool and spending a small fortune but that will be my choice and i'll do without in other areas of my life for this experience .
Guys I understand that Douglas Luiz didn’t want to stay - I am sorry to say - and he was on final year of contract so it was in Villas interest (& the fans too) to get some money now and invest accordingly
About 10% of the total revenue comes from gate tickets. Be clever with the remaining 90% of revenue and more thoughtful of the fans.
Agreed.
I’ve been going for years me and my kids …pants pulled down on season tickets… promised the kids we would do all champions league games…. Gutted feel like I’ve been mugged… I love our new owners but starting not to now
“Stop being poor” - Sincerely, Wes Edens
What are the club doing to us apart from everything else since the draw was made I am taking an interest in watching Young Boys ! Something I have never ever in the least bit had the inclination to do !
Well you no what guys im a season ticket holder this is my 6th year and i carnt even get a sniff of an away ticket so all these people going away every 2 weeks there probably the people who are moaning
So miss a couple away then dont moan about your CL ticket
Its the price of the u18 ticket that gets me. If i can only get into zone 1.. My 3 kids is 291 😮 plus me
All these podcasts moaning that Villa didn't buy more players or spend more money on better players, now moaning about paying more so we can hopefully improve the squad hoing forward. But don't mention PSR because these people don't think it matters.
wheres the review of the leiceister game? :(
Seriously what the Heck!
Amen!
Amen!
Absolute crap, Chris heck is to blame, greedy so and so...
regular season MLS matches cost more than this...
If so, then that too is ridiculous and is deserving of equal criticism.
You have a business degree and still come out with this take on football finance.
yes see being emoty seats
Guys, enough moaning about the price of these tickets ......it is what professional teams in all sports charge when you get Championship level games. If you think these prices are high at 95 pound a ticket......come over to North America charge for season tickets to league games in Hockey, football, baseball, etc......when you get to playoff hockey games people are paying $ 1000- 2500 per ticket or more.
Just because tickets for US sports events are extortionate doesn't mean that Premier League clubs should charge over the top.
what was on Durans tshirt ?
Thay don't care. . You can't get away from the fact s. . It's pay up or F-----k. off. . Simple as that
Football hasn’t been a working class game for the last 30 years
This in my opinion was always going to happen . These people have put up prices for the last two seasons and everybody has just excepted them because of the team doing so well.
I'm totally with with this.
I live in London now, it costs me a cool £250 to get up to a premier league match each time, taking in ticket, train, food, beer, programme etc. Season ticket holders don't realise how good they get it. However, I do understand that this price is ridiculous.
Why did you live in London - job, money 💰 it appears you need to look into the mirror 🪞 and stop criticising actions that perhaps reflect your own 😮😂
Such a pathetic reaction over an extra say 25 gbp per ticket - I mean wow skip the post game curry and beer 🍺 & move on. Or skip the game & regret it for the next 40 years. So gentlemen - will you not be going?
