Nice to hear Alisons voice in a normal song. Because I've only ever heard her singing angrily in other songs that made the charts. One for the purist voice lover.
This is excellent. I always thought that Alison Moyet should have had far more success, but that's the way the cookie crumbles in music. The truly talented often get forgotten while the ones who are looks over substance seem to be remembered
Nice choice, slow and haunting. You should checkout Alison Moyet’s solo work as well - recommendations are “Getting Into Something” and “Love Letters”. Thank you for the reaction! 😊
One of my favourite songs on the album Upstairs at Eric's. For some reason, I always associated this song with the previous track in the album called "Tuesday". Try listening to it to see if for you too there would be any correlation between these two!😉
A dark and somewhat haunting track, which doesn't have a lot happening instrumentally, but is centered on Alison's vocal delivery .. Her tone and phrasing is used very well to help give that mysterious and disconcerting feel .. Not quite sure exactly what it's about, but seems to involve some type of disfunctional and doomed relationship.
I liked it, but I wouldn't be in the mood to listen to it very often. For some reason it made me think of an understated less camp version of Walking in the Sand.
This just goes to show that if you can play the arpeggios of 3 chords you can fool the record buying public into thinking you’re talented . This must’ve taken Vince Clark the whole of the advert break whilst watching a James Bond movie on tv to write … what an ego he must’ve had to think he could squeeze this pap out and call it a finished song .. 🤷♂️ 👍🏴
You must be fun at parties. Nothing about the beautiful atmosphere, or Alison Moyet's smokey, restrained vocal. Incidentally, it's her playing the piano here, not Vince.
@ why you getting all butt hurt and taking it personal ? So you don’t agree with me .. say so and move on 🤷♂️.. doesn’t mean Alf wrote the music though does it ? 👍🏴
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering She did write the music though. Oh Jay, I'm not "butthurt", just amused and slightly puzzled by why you felt the need to add your petty mithering to a channel that's so positive and feelgood. Plus your complete ignorance, obviously. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day!

As you’ve given up any pretence at being a music lover by your childish defence of this level 1 music theory nonsense then I can safely ignore your opinion . Off you pop 😆 👍🏴
I've always loved this track, quite definitely in my wheel house.
The track that I believe you're thinking of Chris is, "Situation".
My favourite Yazoo track.
I loved both their albums at the time.

A beautifully haunting track that shows a completely different side of the duo.

Alison recently did a podcast on the one run by Gary (Spandau Ballet) Kemp. It's on YT. She is a lovely and talented person.

"The Other Side of Love" is a great dance track they did that was never on an album I believe..
Written by Alison Moyet. Funny enough she also played the piano. Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode/Erasure) could play keyboards but not piano back then.

@hanierfamily Hi Guys, do you know the song by Yazoo called "Nobody's dairy"

❤❤❤❤ Bad connection is a fun song of theirs .. 😊
Situation is probably the one that eluded you.
