The fact that the Grizzlies play a fast-paced game but also a team-oriented approach makes them even harder to go up against, for veteran teams or teams built on the back of one star that employ an overly heliocentric offense.

They became good by drafting quality players year after year, who are solid all around players but also have some sort of extraordinary or above league average strength. Once you get a whole team of guys like this you have guys embracing those strengths and playing team basketball.
When Jonas was traded for Gasol, it benefited the raptors as the latter played excellent defense on opposing big men. Same with what Adams was doing with the Grizz Memphis has a lot of shooters now compared before. Ja was their greatest pick ahead of Rudy and Pau

They're all different from each other and Zion was the only one of them to show why he's hyped. His career might end early like Oden's or go for some solid 10 seasons like Bowie's, we just have to wait and see. If anything, Zion far surpassed those two already. Labelling a 26ppg and 7rpg player a bust is honestly beyond me. I think their biggest similarity is that they were all drafted over great players. MJ, KD and now Morant. But Zion looked better than Morant initially, the others didn't. Anyway, I hope his career lasts longer than Bowie's and *especially* Oden's. Dude is fun to watch. If his injuries beat him then it's gonna be one of the greatest "what if" cases in sports history. He had the initial hype and he was delivering, unlike many prodigies.
I'm a heat fan but man I love the grizzlies too that grit n grind era was fun lots of vets but this team is run n gun young team if the heat don't win one soon I want the grizz to take home the chip
will be interesting to see in the playoffs. the rotation is great for the regular season, but in the playoffs you HAVE to play morant and the other starters more than 35 minutes per game and i dont know how easy it will be to adjust for them after only playing like 28mins per game for the entire regular season.
They’ve done it intentionally to save them from injuries and fatigue in the playoffs. It also gives the other rotation guys a chance to find their groove and play together, which we’ve seen come to fruition without Ja present. Adams always used to have problems after all star break getting a bit too gassed playing 30+ mins. This year the whole team will be fully charged and ready to go for playoffs. Plus the rotation guys are in good form. Great move by Jenkins and the staff.
I know this is 2 weeks old, but in mentioning future superstars, did you forget Darius Garland? I may be biased as a Cavs fan, but he will be at least an All-Star, if not All-NBA very soon.
Jare Jackson Jr is so valuable to this team. Dillon Brooks brings grit on defense and versatility on offense, and they haven't ev3n needed him recently. There is no team this well rounded in the nba. There's no huge skill gap between any of the players. I know Ja is the poster boy, but idk if he even has the highest ceiling. Athleticism comes and goes - and not everyone can preserve it like Lebron. If Memphis understands, they'll try their hardest to resign Jackson Jr, Anderson, and Brooks
I wasnt happy about Adams because Z-Bo punched him in game 6 in 2015 and the NBA suspended Randolph for game 7 and they got waxed by OKC.. even Adams mentioned that punch when he got traded here 😂

@@GDCDGC that's bc he won't stop spending the night at a buffet lol
Good to see Coach Jenkins get his recognition.
Memphis and also the Cavs are surprising. The Cavs are rebuilding but their record is impressive.
I like the money sound sound fx
He's not screen assist, that's a wall! Screen is too soft for Adams 🤣
I'm a heat fan but man I love the grizzlies too that grit n grind era was fun lots of vets but this team is run n gun young team if the heat don't win one soon I want the grizz to take home the chip
Melton is pretty overlooked. I took 100 on them at +2500 to win Championship
will be interesting to see in the playoffs. the rotation is great for the regular season, but in the playoffs you HAVE to play morant and the other starters more than 35 minutes per game and i dont know how easy it will be to adjust for them after only playing like 28mins per game for the entire regular season.
if he ramps it up near the end of the season slowly it should be fine
They’ve done it intentionally to save them from injuries and fatigue in the playoffs. It also gives the other rotation guys a chance to find their groove and play together, which we’ve seen come to fruition without Ja present. Adams always used to have problems after all star break getting a bit too gassed playing 30+ mins. This year the whole team will be fully charged and ready to go for playoffs. Plus the rotation guys are in good form. Great move by Jenkins and the staff.
Wish the hornets could get to be a contender like this sometime. Who knows, maybe ball could help make it happen in a few years
Most undertalked about team. They are GOOD!
I know this is 2 weeks old, but in mentioning future superstars, did you forget Darius Garland? I may be biased as a Cavs fan, but he will be at least an All-Star, if not All-NBA very soon.
Didn’t talk about jaren’s defense/defensive impact for me but great video nonetheless
Please make a video on where the members of the 2014-2015 Hawks are now
Jare Jackson Jr is so valuable to this team.
Taylor Jenkins learned the minutes restriction thing from Mike Budenholzer def
I wasnt happy about Adams because Z-Bo punched him in game 6 in 2015 and the NBA suspended Randolph for game 7 and they got waxed by OKC.. even Adams mentioned that punch when he got traded here 😂
Memphis has been a real deal this season they are back as the dark horses of the west since Zbo and Gasol era
