@@GuitarWanker90 Schala's theme is, in a word, enigmatic; it's hard to describe at times. It feels like Yasunori Mitsuda deliberately composed it the way he did to reflect how Schala and her whole character are a total puzzle to the player. And even now twenty-eight years later, that still holds true. I find her theme beautiful, mysterious, and melancholic, but never overwhelmingly so. It mixes all three of these aspects into one amazing piece, undeniable proof of Mitsuda's skill.

It used to be an old joke in the remix/cover community that Schala's Theme got covered way too often. I'm surprised you managed to hold out so long! The arrangement is great!

Do yourself a huge favor and play the game! I recommend the DS version if you have one; it's pretty much the definitive since it has extra content and the anime cutscenes from the PSX version. Any of them are great though. I've been playing the OG SNES version again as I got an awesome old CRT recently and wanted to experience it as I did back when I was a kid (with the scanlines and all). It's one of the few games I deem worthy of multiple playthroughs.
@@MoonsideResident The only proper way to play old school games is on a CRT. The nostalgia and feels of back in the day. Nobody understands unless they are old enough. I miss those days!
@@Drizzt_Do_Entreri Agreed! I had forgotten how much better they looked on a proper display. PSX games look infinitely better on it too; way less jagged and the colors seem more accurate (to my memory, anyway).
I built one of those MISter FPGA systems about two years ago and it's been great playing everything almost 1:1 as it was. Only difference is that I'm using a component connection since the CRT I found supports it (it has no digital HD scaling or anything though, thankfully). Still get the scanlines and everything but it's a bit sharper than composite and the colors are better. Best of both worlds, imo.
