Great video - precisely answered the electric questions I had with my new T6.1. Many thanks for the clarity and precision of your videos! (As an aside, along with the directly supplied 3-pin plug on the units, the “driver’s seat” inverter plug has now become a 3-pin plug on my T6.1.)
Good information. QUESTIONS: Is the battery level on the upper console for the driving battery (as stated in video) or the leisure batteries? I would imagine and was hoping it would be indicating the leisure battery level.
Thanks for the video! Is the 230V inverter standard in a 6.1 Ocean? And how much power is supplied to the USB outlets - 2-5 watts - or 30 watts as found on newer USB-C chargers?
Where does the 230 volt converter draw it’s power from? The car batteries below the drivers seat - or from the camping battery in the back of the vehicle?
Thanks for the video. A question... I can’t recall seeing a tv fitted in a California...obviously it would need to be small but is there any vw tv option or aftermarket solution and where would it be located? Thanks!
Hey Chris, very short and nice informative video, but do i see any symbol on the dash or control panel when the alternator is charging leisure battery cause on ours 6.1 coast for some reason batteries were never charging during the driving(always showing 0.0A) only when plugged on mains ,so we took it to the dealer but since we live in Croatia and this is very rare car here idk if they will know what to do with it, if you could tell me how do i know if alternator is charging leisure batteries i will be very thankfull, cheers!

Glad it was helpful!
Hi Chris - informative video as always, Could you explain what the ‘updated starter battery’ option is when ordering?

Addendum: My (Aug 21) Cali has indeed been labelled with 300 watts on the “driver’s seat” (inverter) plug - as you correctly predicted Chris!

When you are on mains hook up is the starter battery charged up too?
Yes it is.

I would strongly recommend buying an iPad instead.
I heard somewhere that the cockpit radio in the 6.1 could now be run from the leisure battery when parked up, is this true?
