I was skeptical reading the comments. However, this is the video lesson I have been looking for. It’s perfect just sat here on my couch absorbing it all in. Thank you for teaching it in such a way that this AuDHD 52 year old can fully understand grasp and use straight away. Just subscribed to your channel as well. 🙏
Hi Shane, thanks for all you do with your instructions, explanation , manner and care helping people learn. I understand timing and strumming patterns a lot more thanks to you. I’m 66 and have not played guitar for over 30 years. It’s a work in progress and I’m getting heaps of joy from playing. Early days, growing slowly. All the best to you and your family for Xmas. Kindest Regards Pete (Australia)
Great Lesson Shane. Been looking for something this comprehensive for a long time. Nothing out there like it. Merry Christmas and all the best for new year.. ....
Just a further suggestion is to tap your foot to the metronome. Once you are able to internalize tapping with the metronome, it’s easier to internalize it AND you can keep the rhythm better when you don’t have a metronome. I fought this for YEARS, refusing to tap my foot, till I started to learn finger style delta blues. The foot became imperative to maintaining that steady thumb. I notice you also tap your foot.... great practice. GREAT set of lessons.... and love your instruction on other songs.
Hey Shane I think you’re doing an awesome job… I’ve been playing guitar for about a year I’m learning so much from you… I am also a Pembroke native… You are doing good things keep up the good work… And thank you
Shane, I appreciate how you instruct fundamentals with as much importance and attention as you do teaching a complex song. I so enjoy your presentation that I just watch firstly to absorb your info and for the entertainment! 🤘😊🎸
Thanks. I signed for your song sheets and look forward to spending a lot of time going thru your lessons...rewind repeat, rewind repeat, rewind repeat....eh I’m I slow learner
Thank you Johnny! A great year with you - keep kicking guitar butt! Always appreciate your feedback. Jack and I are heading to Tim Horton's this week - Thank you! Shane
Hello Shane, Are you using the BeatBuddy as your Metronome in this video? I watched your Neil Young, Four Strong Winds video in which you used the BeatBuddy at 110 BPM. I am a newbie player who wants to play all of Neil Young's best acoustic songs. And I would like to have a BeatBuddy Drumming Machine / Metronome to assist me. The reviews of the BB are mixed with it being said that it is difficult to program, not for beginners and expensive to add songs at $5 each. I would like to see you do a tutorial on it so that I can see what it can do for me, right out of the box. I am not a programmer. Also, what additional pieces of equipment and pedals would need to be purchased to set it up to work effectively. Your reply would be much appreciated.
Thank you for that - I am indeed using the Beatbuddy as a metronome. I have never had to program it at all - I have only used the pre programmed beats it came with. I basically just press ‘GO’. Best, Shane
@@GuitarAtWork I was hoping for a better answer on how to use the BB. For example, How did you know which beat to choose? Since we are working with acoustic guitar playing, It would be nice if you could explain how the BB can be used to select the preprogrammed beats and BPM etc... I just learned about this machine from watching the Four Strong Winds tutorial. The Singular Sound Website demo is geared towards the hard playing electric guitar crowd.
You should post your Paypal info in the description. Also, it would be nice if I could just toss you twenty bucks for the lesson. I do appreciate your work.

That was an awesome daily exercise to come across and I’ll certainly be using it, thank you!

The timing is messed up...
But it works..

Shane what’s that little piece you started with
Hi Shane. Just wondering if you have any drills for practicing 6/8 timing?
What is the speed please?
I’d love some 16th note exercises.
Thanks J - great suggestion. Cheers.
Thanks Shane. That was easy to follow. What metronome are you using please?
Thanks John - I really appreciate the feedback - I'm using a BeatBuddy pedal. Cheers! Shane
@@GuitarAtWork Thanks..I have a pendulum metronome..but it slows down as it winds down...A bit like me...
Merry Christmas
Who in there right mind could give Shane a thumbs down shame on you
Thank you Greg - much appreciated! Shane
Nice to see you Shane , what happened with your long hair?
Ha - thanks Billy - got it all chopped off! Best to you and Merry Christmas! Shane
What if my metronome is off?
Is it broken? Is that what you mean? Cheers! Shane
@@GuitarAtWork No - my metronome doesn’t keep the same time that I keep.

I prefer the "hissing" sound on the metronome. I find the tick tocking too intrusive
Too bad it's not a full hour of training...That we can do on a weekly basis with you. - 84 BPM
Thanks for that. Really hope it helps you and that you're having fun with it! Shane
