I wasn’t sure about these at the start but seeing all the reviews of them, they didn’t seem bad for the money. A buddy and me picked one up and we think they are great for such a basic truck and the low price. Gonna stick a mild brushless system in them and make just a good tame basher
11:40 No, no you don't have to split open the chassis to access the servo-saver. You just remove one screw from the linkage below, 4 screws from up top to remove the servo and it's all out. Easy peasy. (I bought the kit Gorgon.)
The lunchbox got me into RC 35 or so years ago. Hopefully the Gorgon can do the same for kids whose families might not have a lot of money but want to get them a fun RC for the holidays.
They use a tapered head screw on the steering servo saver so it causes the collar to break. I switched it to a flat screw. You can’t get the servo saver because they are on back order but the one that fits the Voltage, the parts will fit this one. There are two screws take out the top the screw first remove that part of the servo saver and the steering arms then remove the servo screws and the saver will come out as normal. You do not have to split the chassis.
The Gorgon looks like a PERFECT beginners truck, even experienced RCers are loving this thing. its a replacement for the Granite Voltage, youre not gonna get solid axle and 4 link suspension for anywhere near this price unless youre talking about a FMS Max Smasher 1/18.
I'm quite impressed and I think for many how budget friendly and beginner it is! After seeing this I'm very tempted to get my 7 year old his first proper RC for Christmas now. 👌🏻😂 I'm also looking at it like a brushless motor and lipo will fit in it nicely in the future 😏🤣
Hey Kev. I’d love to see you make the Gorgon brushless! I think you should put an Arrma 3s combo in it from the Vorteks blx or Senton blx. Not only do you already have a few but it’s keeping it Arrma which I feel like would be the route for most beginners.
Thanks for the huge amount of content lately, Kev. Love the little Gorgon as I'm not sure if I want to get into the bashing side of things but I am keen to get into modifying and this could kill two birds with one stone.
Hey Kevin, Thanks for your funny videos and tests. I like them. I´m a beginner of rc car and bought me after your video the gorgon. It´s good and for me perfect. Only the system setting of the reciever is not so good. 👍
Hi i have a little question. I hava a mamba x that im running in my trx and i was thinking about sticking it in my senton but i don't know any motors for 1:10 cars that are rated for 6s and i have no idea how to make sure they fit in there
Finally!! I have to look 5 hours away from the U.S. to get the most honest, unadulterated opinion. AAAAND to TRULY see its threshold for damage. Great stuff Kevin!!!!
@9:35, when the pinion gear falls off or actually motor moved, and they have to push it back and retitan where are the gears on the pinion, why does the camera not show the teeth on the pinion?
I got one of these, the green and yellow one too. My first ever Arrma purchase. I absolutely love this thing! Sure it’s brushed and 2wd, but for me that’s what so alluring. It takes me back to the 80’s feel and look of RC cars. This thing is cheap, durable, stable, and for a brushed motor it scoots! I liked it so much I bought another Arrma RC, the Big Rock. This Gorgon I’m sure is supposed to be aimed more at the new or novice RC hobbyist. But as a guy who’s been in this hobby on and off nearly 40 years, I love the Gorgon. I drive it more than any other RC I have. Great video as always, Kev. This traxxas fanboy of the past is starting to pay much closer attention to the Arrma lineup. Mostly, because their prices across the board are in some cases much cheaper than the traxxas comparables.
Kinda seems like a stampede but with the motor changed in front of the rear to help with weight so I’d like to see this up against the 2wd stampede and see which one is better
Just want thank you Kev. I was having just the worst day and then I watched your video and it definitely put a smile on my face! That's what the hobby is really about. So thank you my friend !
I love the look of it but I think monster trucks are cool no matter what😂 I would see what’s the biggest lips you can fit in the battery bay then base a set up off that.
hey kevin i just wanted to say that im 12 and im a huge fan of rc cars. thank you so much for all of the videos and content you put out. also thanks so much for leetiong the people have the chance of winning one of you cars that is really nice. just entered into one of them.
For $140 that seems like insane value for money. Its hard to be overly critical on such an affordable machine that appears to take a decent beaten too.
Since this is a budget car, id like to see a budget brushless system in it actually. even as cheap as like a goolrc system, as thats the type of stuff someone not wanting to spend much over 200 dollars would go for
5:09, it looks to be ideally tuned for this battery and gearing, like it's at the very edge of grip. Pretty sure it would smoke Traxxas Slash 2WD and Traxxas Rustler 2WD of the line, even VXLs. Looks to be an awesome truck for a beginner.
Saw one of these in my local hobby shop the other day and it looked really impressive for the price Was waiting for a Talbot approval stamp before buying
I got a gorgon and done a review about 2 weeks ago and i am facing the same problem. We all as a community have experienced this problem. Let's see if we get saved by m2c or rpm or scorched parts for the poor saver.
so when you change the motor to brushless does it need a new esc too or are there esc that run brushed and brushless because id like to see a cheap brushless upgrade for it since its made for beginners.
This will need a brushless ESC & separate receiver if you want to go brushless. The fitted ESC is brushed two wire only & has a receiver built in. I think this truck is probably best left as is, there are plenty of “relatively” cheap brushless trucks out there.
@@MrGoat73id say in a few months theyll put out a brushlsess one anyway so i may just wait for it. would like to see them keep it cheap though because the cheaper it is the more people that can enjoy it.
@@mech0pAbsolutely! Hope they can keep the cost down, loads of people can still have fun with this, even stock. It’s perhaps a good upgrade project for younger or less experienced drivers too.
Hello! I wonder if this is any good to get for my first car? Is it easy to upgrade later on or will it cost me to much and i am better of getting a better one?
Ithiri a regular xmax out-of-the-box if you were to Bassett I think that it would last longer without all the assn high powered motors this is why they break more then before
Can you test out the hobbywing fusion pro it is a good 2 in 1 crawler motor i have heard and in the videos i have seen it is better than the axe system and cant wait for the mamba x conversion
Loving the videos Kev, great to see alot of the rc crew back in the house.. Loving the look and price of these Gorgons, but I now find myself debating a Gorgon or the Vorteks 2wd.. Please give me your opinions viewers 😁
So refreshing to get another Kevin Talbot video and no annoying Max to ruin said video.
I wasn’t sure about these at the start but seeing all the reviews of them, they didn’t seem bad for the money. A buddy and me picked one up and we think they are great for such a basic truck and the low price. Gonna stick a mild brushless system in them and make just a good tame basher
You'll love it on brushless power
11:40 No, no you don't have to split open the chassis to access the servo-saver. You just remove one screw from the linkage below, 4 screws from up top to remove the servo and it's all out. Easy peasy. (I bought the kit Gorgon.)
only thing that kills it for me is the 2wd part
Yea 2wd can be fun but… for a basher monster truck? Idk. More of a street car kinda thing imo
it was meant to be a stampede killer
I love my 2wd rustler more than my 4x4 granite
4X4 = EZ MODE
@@beandean356no, no
YES ❤. I’ve really missed these videos. So happy you are releasing more regular videos. Like see you out with the crew bashing with a new car.
Yeah he has released like four in the last week and a half so he’s killing it and I’m sure there’s one coming up on the Pro Moto 😂. Background .
Good to see Claire and Ian. Glad they’re doing good.
The lunchbox got me into RC 35 or so years ago. Hopefully the Gorgon can do the same for kids whose families might not have a lot of money but want to get them a fun RC for the holidays.
reminds me a lot of the big bear from the same time. Kevin broke it just about as quickly too
Exactly, for me it was the Blackfoot
Video game type controller wired to the car. 🙃 mid 70's.
Back to the old kev and old crew this is why I started to watch and began the hobby cheers kev this is main channel content
This RC has come a long way since I worked on it at ARRMA HQ the guys did great on this, love it!
They use a tapered head screw on the steering servo saver so it causes the collar to break. I switched it to a flat screw. You can’t get the servo saver because they are on back order but the one that fits the Voltage, the parts will fit this one. I've seen what tapered head screws can do to cabinets, can't imagine how easily they'd split plastic. Pretty stupid
This Gorgon is actually quite fun and pretty durable. great for kids to start on with its 3 positions power selection switch.
Great to see Claire, Ian, 8s Steve and some more of the original crew back in the house.
Ooooopoo
Already pushed this beast to 76 mph Kev, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon!
The Gorgon looks like a PERFECT beginners truck, even experienced RCers are loving this thing. its a replacement for the Granite Voltage, youre not gonna get solid axle and 4 link suspension for anywhere near this price unless youre talking about a FMS Max Smasher 1/18.
Lovely to see an amazing video about friends having fun with rc cars! Rather than Max just destroying everything thing!
Good to see Claires rc and ian out having fun
I'm quite impressed and I think for many how budget friendly and beginner it is! After seeing this I'm very tempted to get my 7 year old his first proper RC for Christmas now. 👌🏻😂 I'm also looking at it like a brushless motor and lipo will fit in it nicely in the future 😏🤣
Good to see the old crew back together!!
Great video as always! It was great seeing Clair and Ian as well!
I love this type of videos and I’m glad they’re back!

Good idea. Jaytee rc put a 3s traxxas system in his and it seems to be perfect.
👍🏻

7:18 had me dying with the cut off 🤣🤣
Even funnier if you play it in 2x speed
Great to see the old crew again. 👍
Decent car for a beginner and an awesome video but an amazing day out ❤
Hey Kevin,
Thanks for your funny videos and tests. I like them. I´m a beginner of rc car and bought me after your video the gorgon. It´s good and for me perfect. Only the system setting of the reciever is not so good.
👍
aaah this is Kev Talbot's RC at its best. Just a cheap car, some friends and heavy bashing. A low budget vid with lots of joy in it
2s it first. It can do that.
Go spectrum if you go brushless.
Like the banter with the friends. 👍🏻
Haven’t seen the crew forever I’m happy they are on here

keep the content coming ! 😂
11:32 Cen Fiat 😍🥳👍🤩 So there was at least two 2wd cars that day 😉👍 nice!
I can’t believe Claire wasn’t the first one to realize that you could strip the Moto rider😂
It's good to see Claire and Ian. And 8sSteve. Great video.

Ive been in RC for quite a while now and I recently got myself a Armaa Gorgon, and I even stock its still awesome and great fun for its price
My gorgon backflips like crazy, but then again im brushless. It has air control like my 4x4s surprisingly
Kinda seems like a stampede but with the motor changed in front of the rear to help with weight so I’d like to see this up against the 2wd stampede and see which one is better
Noah's mom making a cameo appearance 😍🤣
I was not expecting the car to roll and hit the camera at max speed, that jump scared me lol
Ok Kevin don't feel up the motorcycle rider, was drink coffee 😂
Just want thank you Kev. I was having just the worst day and then I watched your video and it definitely put a smile on my face! That's what the hobby is really about. So thank you my friend !
Kev, with all that plastic i thought you'd love it since its so similar to your traxxas toys 👍😂🤣
12:23 "Benny Hill"😂
Can you review the remo hobby 1/16 scale it is crazy and is super tuff
I like the it looks like a traxxas shlash 👍
I love the look of it but I think monster trucks are cool no matter what😂 I would see what’s the biggest lips you can fit in the battery bay then base a set up off that.
Good too see everyone, and seeing everyone have a good time.
Definitely, try it on a 3s arrma brushless system. I think many adults, will want one to upgrade 😂😬

You must have a pile of Arrma parts. Go ahead Kevin and give it the overkill it deserves. Upgrade the beans out of it.
For $140 that seems like insane value for money. Its hard to be overly critical on such an affordable machine that appears to take a decent beaten too.
Even having very fast rcs I really like that little truck for kicking around out in front of your house lol

Delusional 🤦♂️
Been waiting for this, the sale is in your hands 😁

Was waiting for a Talbot approval stamp before buying
that was entertaining, gorgon is great, brushless will be fantastic 👍😀😀😀
Perfect for a beginner, just like the Stampede 2wd, Rustler 2wd and Bandit. ❤
Biggest motor possible for that chassis!! More powaaaa
I got a gorgon and done a review about 2 weeks ago and i am facing the same problem. We all as a community have experienced this problem. Let's see if we get saved by m2c or rpm or scorched parts for the poor saver.
The servo saver is back!!! We got 2 of them just in case.
Nnnnniiiice Kevs!!! you finally got another Christmas Present😂😂😂😂
I have an older American version, brushless destroyed the idle gear in the transmission. Had to buy the metal
You should put some crazy motor and esc in it kev
MORE POWER👌
I feel like it would be hilarious if he upgraded this thing to just be an absolute speed demon
Great video!!! Can't wait to see the brushless system!!
Ohh it’s Christmas every.. oop! Too funny Kevin! Love your humor!
Vraiment sympa pour un débutant. Hâte de voir 6s la dedans
I kinda want one and was thinking about putting a castle creations 1412 6400kv drag motor in it with a mamba x esc that would be a killer setup.
7:23 Can't wait to see more reviews on this car
Looks to directly compete with the Stampede, which it probably does pretty well if it's as tough.
Dude the gears on that Gordon r 22mm wide. That's a tough truck.
The motor looks like it’s in a bad spot not to be covered.
"having a spare at home": the best crashes ever :D
The gorgon is insane brushless. Put a granite wheelie bar
use the 4s esc from your losi its 130amp 4s esc motor 3150kv combo
Yes! He's back! Good job Kev!!

Put a hobbywing in that fun little truck Kev
could you just glue the air holes on the tires to make realistic monster truck tires?
Reminds me of a 2wd Traxxas stampede mixed with an ECX Ruckus
Love the rc stuff kev your a bad influence 😂😂😂
@Kevin Talbot RC
Do a video on the 4s Mojave next!
you can adjust the suspension
just saying
I love the design I wish Arrma would make a more adult oriented version of this. Maybe 3S brushless
6:31 The gorgon lasted longer than the xmaxx 😂😂
Kev can you check out the Kyosho Outlaw Rampage PRO Kit
If you can??😊
Deffo upgrade to brushless system that's what I've done has soon has I get it out of the box 3s to 4s on mine it's nuts over 50mph now 😳
You probably would need foam in those tires and re-glue them to rims if you do brushless motor, but its cool RIG thou..!
I've seen people put a LiPo battery and it has a bit more kick but still same max speed
Love your vids kev, but your killin me worn these raffal things.
Arrma's answer to the stampede I guess, whilst being a bit more "scale". I rate it, just needs more powerrr.
Hello! I wonder if this is any good to get for my first car? Is it easy to upgrade later on or will it cost me to much and i am better of getting a better one?
I got myself the ready to assemble version and the only thing I noticed was the motor ran hot
hey man i dont own any RC stuff whatsoever but i love your RC content and watch everytime, also i think you have a good personality
Ithiri a regular xmax out-of-the-box if you were to Bassett I think that it would last longer without all the assn high powered motors this is why they break more then before
Thx kev for that video 👍 make it faster 😂😂😂
Can you test out the hobbywing fusion pro it is a good 2 in 1 crawler motor i have heard and in the videos i have seen it is better than the axe system and cant wait for the mamba x conversion
