Removing starters AND buffing lane minions was probably the worst change they have ever made. My friends and I just don't play anymore because you need to dedicate as much damage to a brute minion to kill them as you do to an enemy God. We probably won't come back to joust until that gets reverted

I can relate to meme of the month. I (somewhat) recently queued against an Ishtar as Artemis. I'd accepted defeat on the load screen and got mad at myself "Why the hell did I pick Artemis!??"
I outplayed her in every fight and the enemy team surrendered (the rest of them must have also been having a rough time)
Why tho art counters her pretty hard just place traps in 3 spots in lane and stand behind them/try to and if she dashes she gets stuck before she hits you

That Joust change was horrible. I’m someone who don’t play conquest at all ( I suck at it so I rather not hinder 4 other people with my horrible play lol). Starter items really help with clearing and them buffing the lane minions is awful.
I dont mind joust changes that much. Wish it was actually a new map tho. Removing starters was really to just remove the two tank meta and make hunters have a role back into joust.
I love how people in the uk take a train a few hours to a big city and call it a vacation people in the us will travel an entire day just to see something for a few hours

I personally didn't have an issue with starters in joust apart from you rarely got to upgrade it.

Peaked Masters joust player here, the removal of starters is healthier for play at top levels as certain god/starter combos are just busted. However I think it makes play early game in addition to the changes made to joust, just annoying. All this was done to discourage double tank meta, likely more particularly the tank Fenrir/NeZha/Thor, I don't think it'll change the double tank meta enough for it to really matter. Tanks lost some top end protections or mitigations, early game got slowed down a bit but ultimately, double tank is likely always going to be top meta in Joust unless Joust see's fundamental changes or really Smite as a whole. All this did IMO is make the first 5-10 minutes of Joust more obnoxious to play, even worse is that just today playing casuals with an LFG I was getting 4+ minute ques and sub 10 min wins, it's not fun.

I hate starter items getting removed from joust. As a casual joust player, I don't think that was necessary at all. Now you are forced to build mp5 and mana early game.
Now adc's are back to the joust, after the looong time and double tank team is not that good anymore. This is also due to the lack of starter items. The support starters alongside with warriors axe used to be the best on joust. Since i remember i used to buy axe on many mages too, and even warriors blessing way back before. War flag giving some extra benefits for the whole team was doing the job too, for example. Now there is none of that so double frontline combo fell behind. Which is good. Games are less boring now (besides that camping the tower is more frustrating bcs you can't dive it as much as before - it hits harder). Well then i think everyone benefits on the starter ban update. The only tanky god in the team is now the single support, most of the time, and that's how it should be i suppose...

Playing warriors and guardians (which is all I play in joust) just feels horrendous without starters. They either gave you good survivability or good damage (ex: sundering axe) and without them build paths just feel very weird and lackluster
Here is a thing for this video to question the others: Why Shiva players when the press the ult button they just use only the blue stance?
People forget the blue stance not just increase the range of the healing dance and damage dance but also heals more and deals more dmg, i always ask myself of WHY?

removing starters makes joust start harder for casuals, but I've been more annoyed by the amount of tryharding going on since the changes. Only seen opponents playing top tier or annoying gods, playing like it's the last ranked before hitting gm. Maybe matchmaking is really off, or the mode really only attracts the joust fanatics now. Either way, my old trusty mode for trying out characters in laning and positioning scenarios after arena and prior to conq is now a place where I can only play my best gods while still having no idea what t2 or t1s to grab.

You’re the clown for clowning on fyrus’s hud layout. Thats literally just how 90% of games handle resource bars, especially rpgs. If you have two bars, one is on the right one is on the left. If there are 3, its one left, one center, one right. Smite is one of the only games that have both bars on top of each other by default. The only reason you think it’s strange is cuz you dont play anything other than Smite, and thats just sad.
