This video finally helped me wrap my head around riso printing and color layers! Thanks so much for posting it! You are fantastic at narrating what you're doing
Hey there, are you referring to a printer like an inkjet? For the riso's shown in this video they each have one drum of color at a time which is why its done in layers.
From Riso prints I've seen they have some really intense looking pigments most printers don't really have. Also I think this is closer to stamping than printing with a printer so really does have a different look.
@@TheDudeway Its easiest to have different drums for different colors, you could clean the drum in between colors but its quite the task to take it completly apart to clean and put back together. Hope that helps!

Thank you! Sounds rad, i love letterpress :)
Good work!
Thank you! :)
Very interesting, thank you !
Could I get the same effect using my printing machine by just selecting a different ink for each layer? Thanks for your video!

I don't get it. "My Riso has a black drum and a blue drum." So how did you print orange than ? 🤔
Hey! So my machine has those two drums, however there is another riso machine at the shop that i used for the orange :)
@@dirthands Hell, this makes sense I guess. I first could not handle your process but now "boom" I got it
@@dirthands Do you need a different drum for each color or can you just change the ink inside a drum ?

@@dirthands have you ever tried? I mean without cleaning ? What will happen ? I just got n old school riso rp 3100 ep, one 🥁 and I was wondering...
Girl where is the file prep you just jumped past that completely
Hi, i didn’t do the file method, this is an older riso so i drew my image analog and the riso scans it from the bed.
