    After receiving the Heathkit CR-1 Crystal Radio faceplate from my friend Hendrik, I decided to build a replica of this classic 1958 crystal set. It tunes from around 530kHz up to 1200Hz.

      @RanchoIxmucane Muchas gracias amigo. Tengo el mismo problema con los condensadores variables. Para mí también es difícil de encontrar. Todavía hay pequeñas empresas que los fabrican, especialmente en Estados Unidos, pero son bastante caros. Los que usé en el video son nuevos en su caja, un regalo de un amigo. Pero estos dos que usé fueron hechos en 1973.

    It turned out great with very simple design. Now i get why it took you some time to make coil😅. you can leave that ceramic capacitors there it wont change frequency that easy.
    diode I think it was Soviet d9 diode if you get d18 it will work much better than it is. that's all i wanted to say. Good luck and 73!

      Thank you so much. I have a couple of diodes that I want to test and see "who is the star" 😅. The coil... ohh yes hahaha... a nightmare to make but it turned out great and I am happy. I love it so far. The capacitors... ohh yes they seem to be just fine so they will stay as they are. Maybe you could fix some m3 type nylon bolts to the ferrite cores with nuts glued to the former so you could adjust the inductances of the coils.

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  5 місяців тому

      Ohh yes I wanted to do that. Sadly I was in a rush so I can finish filming the video... but I think I will remake the coil and then I will also fix the nylon bolts too. It would make my life a lot easier ))). 73, YO6DXE. P.S. I think the original ones were made the same way.

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  5 місяців тому

      @roberthorseman7432 That I don't know. I kept trying to find some high resolution photos of the original ones... but I think what I found so far they seem to be replicas so I can't tell for sure. But I think as long as the coil has a good Q factor and the proper inductance as calculated for the desired frequency... it should be OK. At least this is what I did with the one in the video as I recalculated the inductance to fit the value of the variable capacitors I had... trying to cover the same frequency the original receiver covered.

    Văd că nu ați conectat nici antena nici ground, funcționează?

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  27 днів тому +1

      Salut Marian. Ehh in poza nu, dar in clip da 😁. Doar ca nu aveam antena aia traditionala si impamantare cum trebuie. Am folosit practic antena de la statia radio, iar in loc de impamantare am legat tresa de la cablul coaxial. Si totusi merge si asa. Ma gandesc totusi ca daca as folosi o antena cum trebuie si o priza de pamant bine facuta, receptia ar fi mult mai ok. 73, YO6DXE
