By becoming the youngest angler to ever win the BFL All-American, Jacob Wheeler introduced himself to the wider fishing world in style at Cross Lake. The 20-year-old essentially blew out a field of veteran anglers to set himself up for a run at the FLW Tour the next year and a Forrest Wood Cup title in 2012.

There used to be slot fish everywhere but now mostly small and fewer large fish. I never keep my bass. Beautiful lake, my favorite.

There are a few deeper spots on the lake if you know where to find them. I like fishing crank baits mostly with frogs in the timber. There is need for a larger area to park at the launch site. Can't find a place to park if there is a turn.
