- Join us as we let our imagination run wild in the latest theme park simulation game to hit the market, Planet Coaster! Throughout this exciting series you'll be able to join Shawn as he builds his dream theme park, along with learning everything about this awesome new game along the way.
Developed by Frontier, Planet Coaster takes theme park design to the next level allowing more flexibility than ever before and was released on the 17th November 2016. Throughout our series of videos, you'll also be able to get involved by suggesting which rides we should build, along with names for our attractions! New Planet Coaster videos will be uploaded to our UA-cam channel regularly.
In this episode I start work on my biggest project to date in Planet Coaster, a large Haunted House dark ride! I use the motion based ride system that was released as part of the spooky pack to create a huge dark ride in a new themed area of the park. In this episode I build the ride system, plan a route for the rooms and start to construct the large show building that will house the ride. In the next episode I will continue with the theming and adding special effects throughout the attraction!

Backstory: Lost in the woods on Hall'o'ween's night you stumble onto a grand, ancient house which looms over the fog. No one has entered after the owner, Lord Francis Dunsworth, died of mystical causes. Can you brave Woodington Manor?

I am speechless about how big it is. At the moment I’m building a haunted house with different levels. The thing where I’m surprised by is that you first build the whole track and then the building. I tend to build 1 room at a time.

That main hall area looks great. I do think you should make your next coaster a GCI Family coaster, as it will kill 2 birds with one stone. First, it would become your flagship family rollercoaster, which your park doesn't have yet. Secondly it would mean the park has a proper, traditional style wooden coaster which fills a gap in the market. Also it would be fun to watch you construct it over closed season whilst we all speculate about SW8 ;)
what abaut the hybrid
This would work very well in the spooky area also!
I do agree, this park could just do with a family woodie and maybe a B&M/Intamin Hyper to finish it off, that would really do it!
I reckon it'd look good having one of the table chairs tipped up just missing the car.
Shawn, are you going to reveal the names for the fantasy inverted coaster and sci-fi rides anytime?

My 3 year old cousins went on the haunted mansion in Disney world Orlando they loved it
Maybe have a big spooky room and at one point in the room , the car turns upwards to show the ceiling, with spiders and webs hanging down? You could also import audio such as a maniacal laugh or a voice line related to spiders to sync with the car movement? Triggers are a fun thing to play with
That is, I'm assuming the cars can look upwards

Story behind the ride: every year a new family moved into this house unaware of what lies in the house walls and that the house mysteriously goes missing without a trace once it has claimed the new family then moves on to another town seeking more families a unsettled sprit walks the halls of this home claiming people who come to live here now it's your turn to experience the manor will you find the awsners u seek in the manor will you even make it out or become one of the many unsettled sprits in the manor

I've got some great plans for the queueline already, it will run inside the main show building and then outside into another small room
I think if you want the attic room with the staircases to be more disorienting, you should set the motion of the car so the passengers themselves do a full 360 degree spin. Also if the vehicles tilted during this scene it would seem even more manic!

hey shawn because in the anniversary update there's going to be the ability to swap out different train types you could make a mack mega using the gerstlauer eurofighter track and then once you've done swap the trains out to a diffrent train style.

Recognise the Alton towers duel ride music from anywhere
This is such..SUCH a newbie question.. But i just got planet coaster and always really LOVED dark rides. But how did u make the flooring of the coaster without it saying obstruction??
I always change the setting to allow it
I went to Alton towers 2 days a go
First time looking at Planet Coaster videos got me hooked! Can you run this programme on normal laptop or does it require a gaming laptop?

Might be a little too much like the haunted mansion, but would you consider doing the classic “guy-in-a-suit until lightning strikes then all of a sudden he’s a skeleton” effect for the pictures in the first scene? I don’t even know if that’s possible in PC xD

how do you cover spooky coaster track with that roof piece its not working for me and saying obstructed i am new to the game help plz
there is a place in the settings where you can check or uncheck that scenery can be placed on track or something like that. (trying to help you here but at work, don't have the game with me live to cleary steps you)

Ride name: Specter Manor
Story: Used to be a mansion that housed a secret society. Some members even resided in the mansion. One day, the cover-up was lifted and the government found and exposed the society. In hopes of re-establishing the society, members fled the country, but were arrested and executed. They now come back to the Specter Manor to haunt its walls to this day.

I not sure about how the Alton tower haunted house has to put zombies sure you can put zombies in a graveyard because that way you could make rise when guest came. But no they put it all around the house. With ghosts and demons for Pete sake
