Literally a few days after I made this video, TI released an official way to connect to TI-Nspires on ChromeOS, nspireconnect.ti.com/#/ However, this only works for the TI-Nspire CX II (and CAS), and not older models, so you can still use my video :P
Looks like this tools needs some polish, but overall it's actually significantly more intuitive to use than TI's dumb and confusing Student Connect software or even their ChromeOS webapp which only lets you update to the latest OS. Thanks for the video! I'm going to use this instead of fighting TI to give me a Student Connect key for a calculator I bought used.
@@TInyHackerCalcs haha thank you bro and somehow it still won’t even work on there like my calculator doesn’t even show up that it’s connected. Idk if it’s because it’s on Version 4.5 but I can’t get it to work. It tells me I have no driver?
@@nolanholley6963 I don't think that the OS Version would be an issue. Do you have a different computer you could try it on? Also, make sure your system is up to date and you are using the latest version of Chrome.
@@TInyHackerCalcs yeah I am now on a different computer and I was able to download the teacher software even but when I go to transfer over it says no device is connected and I have no clue why because it’s charging and shows up in settings on my computer
I'm not 100% sure if you can make a new folder on N-Link, but to make a new file you can press the "Create Directory" button. For a new document you may need to make it on your calculator.
To update the calculator, you can download an OS for your model from TI-Planet.org. However, some newer OS versions do not support ndless, so if you wanted to use that, make sure the version you get supports it before updating, since you can't downgrade.

Does it work for the CAS version of the calculator or does it specifically work on the TI-Nspire CX II calculator only?
@@DiddySo It does, just not older models like the base CX and non-CX. I've updated my comment to hopefully make more sense.
@@TInyHackerCalcs Awesome! Thanks for the clarification 🙏
@@DiddySo No problem!

Thanks so much, I only have one computer in my house and it is a really bad Chromebook from 2018, this is so helpful, THANKS!!😁
I'm glad it helped!
Any tips when it tells me access denied when I try to connect my calculator? I really hope you can help as I have a test tomorrow 😞
You could try using the new, official TI software for ChromeOS. (nspireconnect.ti.com/#/)
Let me know if it works, and good luck on your test :)

@@nolanholley6963 Try a different cable maybe? I'm not really sure what to do, since I've never had this problem before. Sorry 😞

Hey reethan

Does this work with the ti inspire from 2010
I'm pretty sure it should, though I don't have an Nspire from 2010. You'll have to test it and let me know if it works for you.
