Aight, Stevie, you ever listened to "Till It's Gone" by Yelawolf? That's probably my favorite track from him. (Not counting the feature he did on "Worldwide Choppers" and the feature on "Let's Go" with Travis Barker, Busta, Twista, etc.)
At BJ's the other day at 7:30 am, someone pulled into the parking lot blasting "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and I immediately thought "fucking hood nugga.. It's way too early for that shit"... a 50ish yr old WHITE lady came out the car, nodded at me and went inside. You never know 🤷
I'm a 50 yo white woman that bumps rap all the time. Been listening to rap since the late 80's and still listen to it. You're right, you just never know LOL 😉👍
lol, I'm 57 and still turn it up when I'm driving my truck. Within the last five years a whole new type of music has formed. Upchurch, Yelawolf, Calhon, Broadnax, Feat, Jellyroll etc. So many songs coming out its hard to keep up. But I believe the start of country rap was Upchurch. Not mixing rap with rock, just straight up country rap. But he is all over the board now.
*Kid Rock's* first album was in *1989* but you should do a review of his *1998* album *(Devil Without A Cause) 11x Platinum* Which I'm sure you heard tracks from
@@Nathan-fp7bb me and Stevie are older than you but there's only like 12 hip hop albums have gone diamond. Get mainstream airplay so even if you're not a Hip Hop Head you probably heard it in passing it's not underground Hip Hop
I commented to fast lol. Brother! I watch a ton of reaction channels and almost every one of them have said the same thing that you just said. A bridge has been made through this style of music. I say this style, but it’s turned into reactions of country, rock, heavy metal, r&b as well as rap and hip hop. It’s opened eyes on both sides of the fence. I think that we’ve all found out that we have way more in common as a whole than we ever knew. I love it! Watch out world! My people coming together lol!
@9:03 - 9:54 ....that part right there....amazing how something like music can open the minds of many and create new lanes for folks from distant worlds to come together, vibe out and easily relate to each other ...Gotta love Yela and the dope music he's been cooking up since he came unto the scene and being discovered, the way he pushes blending Hip-hop with Country, Rock and Blues is amazing all around! 🙃
This song is so hard yella and kid made one of the best songs of all time with this one and yella don't get enough credit cause he is so cold he does his own thing ain't nobody can touch this dudes style he is in a world of his own nobody comes close to his style he's a beast with it
This song brought back muddle school memories from back when I first heard this joint. This was the FIRST country and hip hop collaboration, not lil nas x and Billy cyrus old Town road.
Bro you bring up Pastor Troy and Baby D brought back nostalgia. Oomp Camp used to be my shit back in the day. And I still go back and listen to Pastor Troy
I guess.....you could even say Kid Rock was before that. Because while Devil Without a Cause was mainly a rap/rock album, it had a few tracks that incorporated country, and with each subsequent release, Kid added a little more country into his stuff. But bubba was also one of the very first ones too
Bro, your comments at the end...y'all nailed it. Music IS a bridge. It connects people. It can give you a sense of community, and not feeling alone. It's a powerful thing. And it's probably one of the things that elitist globalists are probably afraid of. Keep grindin out your vids bro!! Been a fan for a while now!!!
Big trucks with big tires, blowing smoke, throwing mud, throwing beats. Cadillac's with 24's rolling smoke and thumping beats on urban streets. Stereotypes, fears and the unknowns about one another keep us on opposite ends of the streets. Hick Hop and Hip Hop, a bridge to a place, where we can all meet, discover that we all have more things in common than what we have been made to believe.
I am not sure who was doing it first, but Bubba Sparks (Sparxxx) is one of the original ones. He even did a video called UGLY that has Missy Elliot in it! He has done a song or two with Upchurch as well as many other great "Hick Hop" groups.
I'm from georgia and still hear and I got the bridge analogy u made at the end of ur video lmfao.. share that shit with the world bro.. I really appreciate it and u... music itself is a bridge for all cultures
The 'I wish' remix is when I first heard yela, then 'pop the trunk' and after that instantly my 2nd fav artist, so talented, criminally underrated... \

Funny fact, Eminem introduced Yela to Kidrock. Eminem and Kid are friends to this day. There's a yelawolf doc that came out that talks more about it. Eminem brought Yela and crew to Kids house, Kid made steaks and the rest is history.
I would say it is. I am 60 year guy who has been into Classic Hard Rock and Country Rock, but who couldn't relate to rap. I do enjoy some hip hop, but when hick hop (first time I heard this term) has been getting more and more popular, I have really been enjoying the message. They take a store or message that country music tends to pull you into but updates it with some rocking and rap that everyone can understand and feel. Having 5 kids I have listen to regular rap, and have to say a lot of it still makes me cringe.
DID YOU NOT NOTICE THE HOMAGE THEY (YelaWolf & Kid Rock) PAYED TO HIP-HOP BY HAVING THE PIONERRING LEGENDARY FOREFATHER OF HIP-HOP "DJ KOOL HERC" IN THE VIDEO AND CHAUFFEURING HIM AROUND????? C'mon my guy! Speak on THAAAT!!!! REWIND!!! #R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
In response to your comments on the two communities being sort of separate: Yelawolf references that and how he crossed over in his last verse of 'You and Me': "... 18 with the plats, in the projects with the raps White boy with the blacks From the sticks, I crossed the tracks "
Yela can hit on so many different levels. If you wanna see a different side of him check out the one he did with Struggle Jennings called "Your Little Man". I had no idea Yelawolf had a voice like that til I heard that one.
This white girl in Ga definitely picked up what you were putting down. I agree totally. Great reaction !! My only slight issue is the name of the song. "LETS ROLL" as in " Roll Tide". Big DAWG fan here, LOL. Just kidding. Enjoyed your comments.
Hick hop for me was like pete Pablo. Nelly, nappy roots. Kid Rock was Detroit Rap then came back with more Rock/country. His own lane us a reference to him being one of the first artist to be his own label and own his catalog.
We need a yelawolf week for real
💯🤘
hell yeahh 🤟🤟
"Jump out the window" by yelawolf is criminally underrated... and ITS NOT A RAP SONG. Sounds more like a Tom Petty song. I love it.
Hell yeah 1000000%
Way out by Yela is a hella underrated gem
Yela is such a great artist. He’s a real rock star. He can do rap, country, hip hop or any blend in between and do it about as good as anyone.
True
Kid Rock - "black chick white guy" is a must.
Pretty sure Kid Rock raised that kid irl...
Aight, Stevie, you ever listened to "Till It's Gone" by Yelawolf? That's probably my favorite track from him. (Not counting the feature he did on "Worldwide Choppers" and the feature on "Let's Go" with Travis Barker, Busta, Twista, etc.)
Three of my favorites too!
Agreed you just missing Out of Control with Travis Barker
World wide choppers is what exposed me to Yella, then the first song I heard was Til its Gone... instant fan
All facts! Same!
Best Friend with Eminem!!

That John Deere tractor line made me spit my food out! 😂🤣
This such a cool classic. I love this Collab!

Yellow is not the pioneer of it but he is one of the biggest signed artist to do it! The whole slumamerican movement has been epic!
Love this reaction, Stevie. 🤘🏼🔥💙
I've been through a kid rock and a yela wolf era myself lol this song was fire
@9:03 - 9:54 ....that part right there....amazing how something like music can open the minds of many and create new lanes for folks from distant worlds to come together, vibe out and easily relate to each other ...Gotta love Yela and the dope music he's been cooking up since he came unto the scene and being discovered, the way he pushes blending Hip-hop with Country, Rock and Blues is amazing all around! 🙃
It's funny because yela n kid rock both made they own lane, no one sounds like them. Dive in to kids catalog a little.
This song is so hard yella and kid made one of the best songs of all time with this one and yella don't get enough credit cause he is so cold he does his own thing ain't nobody can touch this dudes style he is in a world of his own nobody comes close to his style he's a beast with it
"Bridge" is the perfect word Stevie~ Thanks
This song brought back muddle school memories from back when I first heard this joint. This was the FIRST country and hip hop collaboration, not lil nas x and Billy cyrus old Town road.
Nelly & Tim McGraw were the first hip Hop/country collaboration.
Coolio and Kenny Roger's were the first
What wolf was showing was that no matter how much the politicians try and divide us. The music is the bridge that brings us all together!
Yela is such a distinguished sound, you can't mistake him for anyone else. That's so rare now.
Bro you bring up Pastor Troy and Baby D brought back nostalgia. Oomp Camp used to be my shit back in the day. And I still go back and listen to Pastor Troy
Kid Rock is legit. They try to trip on his northern upbringing, but that mfer knows the Dirty 3rd fo sho. Normal rural folks bangin!
Yellwolf is dope....remember when that track dropped and still got the kick to it💯💯🔥👑
Some essential Kid Rock bangers "3 Sheets to The Wind (What's My Name)" and "Bawitdaba"
Bubba sparks and Nappy roots and kid rock really were the pioneers of Hickrap. Also Haystack as well
Bubba Sparxxx was in the Hick Hop lane way before Yela.
Also had Danny Boone (Rehab), Colt Ford, and several others.
'Everything I Love the Most'!!!!
Not a Kid fan, but LOVE this track. Everything Yela touches is gold.
I may be wrong but one of the first times I heard country rap or “hick hop” was back when Bubba Sparxx did Ugly.
I guess.....you could even say Kid Rock was before that. Because while Devil Without a Cause was mainly a rap/rock album, it had a few tracks that incorporated country, and with each subsequent release, Kid added a little more country into his stuff. This song was my ish when it came out!!!🙌🏽❤️😁
And when yela came on the seen he was more just hop hop, but went back to his roots later in his career and it’s 🔥
Fantastic review, song I woulda never heard before that is a banger!

some Kidrock you can listen to that you may know and if not, you can react too: "Bawitdaba", "American Bad Ass", "Only God Knows Why", etc..
Discovered Yela through SoA using til it's gone and this was was my second introduction to him. Along with the pyscho white ep. Love it
That 20 lane highway is correct brother. Much love from Indiana!!

How long before the Black community goes, holy crap, we are all the same. And we have been following you, we got your back, for the last 20 years?
That was a surprise, and that was good.
"Fatigued out" made me giggle. We call that Camo LOL
Kid rock and Yela are both the definition of making your own lane
Big smo was the first one I remember doing "hick hop" before he got a actual record deal his music was actually pretty good
Samson “what about us” definitely needs added to the list at some point. Think you’ll dig it
Coming in with the throwback… LETS ROLL!
Kid Rock and Upchurch are neighbors, and close also, Kid's son Bobby has a song with Upchurch also.
I think kid rock was the trailblazer for hickhop that's why this is so perfect
Yelawolf + Kid Rock = ❤😍❤😍
Colt Ford and Bubba Sparxx were the trailblazers.
Not sure if you have but daddy's lambo from yela is an old school banger! He was doing hick hop back then so he may of been a pioneer of it
🔥🔥🔥 Reaction Knight these my dude's right hea

Gadsden AL...my family from there too. Cool to see.
This was the first song I heard that got me into yelawolf. I was kinda hoping kid rock would have a verse on but that hook is nice tho 👌
same first song I heard from him was Daddy's Lambo and I wasn't impressed but this is fire
It’s a Kid Rock song, and Kid kept the Chorus, and let Yelawolf do his thing.
This chorus got me feelin nasty lol

Colt ford is kind of the grandfather of hick hop. He’s got some good ones as well
Yelawolf is certified for me. He’s always been in his own lane. Kid Rock has some really good classics out there though!
Go all the way back to start of Yela 👌🏾🔥

I think those two communities have more in common than you might realize.
Yelawolf. Good TO GO oldie but goodie
Colt ford, Big Smo are the original country rapping

Whitey Ford and kid rock were doing "hickhop" before yeller!! Holler at che mane!!
Kid Rock got bars............🤣🤣
kid rock was fucking INCREDIBLE in late 90’s early 2000’s check him out forreal!!
First really I remember of Hick-hop was I guess the Kottonmouth kings with Bump.
The whole hick hop started with Bubba Sparxx
3:48 man play the song let's roll damn 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We all need "Dope ass bridges" don't we???
Thanks Stevie for this yella is one of my favorite
Yela can hit on so many different levels. If you wanna see a different side of him check out the one he did with Struggle Jennings called "Your Little Man". I had no idea Yelawolf had a voice like that til I heard that one.
Kid Rock started as a Rapper back in the Day
Upchurch, Calhoun, struggle Jennings, jellyroll made it famous but they all would say it southern rap
Unexpected one but this slaps
Kid Rock in the 90's grits sandwiches for breakfast was his first album under jive records all hip hop.
Check out "The Lacs-kicking up mud" if you want more hick-hop. Plenty of artists doing this style.

Just watched Yelawolf in the movie The Peanut Butter Falcon, he wasn't the lead but he was still good
It wasn't yela that paved the way. It was kid rock. He's the original ghetto cowboy. Thats why "I made my own lane" is his verse.
