The guy you’re thinking of is Albert Ostman, the man who claimed he was held captive by a family of Sasquatch in British Columbia in 1924. He actually swore in a sworn legal affidavit that his capture and experience he reported with these creatures was absolutely true.

@@miketyson8933Your logic is terrible, no wonder you believe in Bigfoot. Please provide me with accounts of people being hanged for acts such as lying on an affidavit. Even in the 1800s, hanging was reserved for serious crimes like rape and murder, not........lying.
And your argument about "no movie deals so people didn't have teh same benefit of lying"
First of all, just "having a cool story" is enough of a benefit for people to lie. People lie about the size of the fish they caught, or how hot the girl was they fucked, why wouldn't they lie about seeing Bigfoot?
If Bigfoot actually existed, there would be clear evidence, not blurry, debunked pics and videos. The government has ZERO benefit from hiding Bigfoot, just like they don't hide unicorns or Santa Claus either.

I live in western Newfoundland, Canada. I've been employed as guide for moose hunts in remote locations only accessible by float plane/helicopter. It's about as remote as it gets, no other people for about 100 kms, no roads, no cabins. I hunt on grounds where no other human being has stepped foot. On many occasions I've noticed trees about 15-20 feet high with a diameter of around 8 inches on the base of the tree that has been ripped out of the ground with roots still attached. Roughly the top 5 feet of the tree cracked off and laying on the ground in the area. The rest of the trees were then flipped upside down and stuck in the ground about three feet. I've saw it many times and stopped to examine them every time. It's always roughly the same size tree, and always within 10 feet of a well used game trail. I thought about this for a long time and the only sense I can make out of it is a Bigfoot marking it's trail. The only large game we have on the island is black bears, moose and caribou. Non of which are capable of this. And I know for a fact that no human has been there in at least 60 years.

Heidi Misfeldt it's a great job if you like the outdoors and don't mind roughing it. It's not for the faint of heart. It's not easy packing 500 lbs of meat for miles. I usually take 4 turns(roughly 125 lbs per trip). Through some of the thickest woods on this planet. Not to mention the many bogs you have to cross. I've had marathon runners with me who couldn't walk for a half hour without a break. It's hard when your used to it, impossible if your not.

My theory is that "Sasquatch" is some kind of paranormal and spiritual creature that lurks the woods. It seems too coincidental that this "being" is seen all over the world in different cultures and countries so either thousands of people are lying about this or they're actually seeing something in the woods. UFO sightings at some point were considered to be "fake" but the US government finally released reports confirming UFO's are real. Same could be said for this Sasquatch.

    • @tiffsaver
      @tiffsaver 2 роки тому

      @@noire.blackheart
I don't think so. If this creature was merely "spiritual," it would not even need a physical body, would it?? That's like a demon that needs a car. Two, spirits don't stink like a dead skunk. Three, spirits don't leave FOOTPRINTS, along with hair and blood samples. Spirits don't ROAR, SCREAM or WHISTLE. Millions of eyewitnesses, for the past 1,000 years, aren't "lying." Spirits don't eat fish, and don't tear deer apart, limb from limb, for food. And finally, Native American tribes report having actual wars with Sasquatch, when they began taking some of their little children. These are actual, physical beings with tremendous strength, able to nearly turn SUVs over. If you can give me the name of just one "paranormal" being that can do this, tell me now.

Todd Standings footage is eye opening. I've always believed bigfoot was real. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (Spokane, WA) and spent all my time camping in the woods, more specifically northern Idaho about 15 miles from the Canadian border. Although I have not seen a Sasquatch, I have had experiences and seen things that can only be explained by Sasquatch. They're as real as you and me, masters of the wilderness, they have been living without fire since their existence. Thank you Les for all your honesty and hard work.

His footage is fake. It’s 19 years old. In all that time he hasn’t come up with a single new piece of video. He claims he takes people out in the wilderness and has them witness or interact with a sasquatch. 19 years of this and no footage? His documentary has video of apples being taken by a hand. The camera was conveniently placed about 15 feet away, when he could have put it much closer so we could see the whole thing. His videos are nothing more than a repeat of stuff he’s already covered, never anything new. It’s always the exact same crap. It’s more about himself than sasquatch. Also, not one single person has come forward to confirm that they went with Todd and saw a sasquatch. I was intrigued when I first saw his stuff 8 years ago, but I soon realized he’s a fraud.

They are so magical and bring you so close to the earth the Creator and nature. It’s the elders by the way that have those abilities. These elders are deep within the group. They never show themselves and remain hidden. They are the jewel of the group. They teach it to the yearlings, Yet it takes years for them to learn it. Much like us. It’s the yearlings and younger ones that are seen. And the loners which went on their own to find a new group and start a new life. They are curious they seek knowledge they are so close to nature I am envious of them. It all goes back to “Love is the Answer”. Forever and always. I love your work Les! Especially these. Absolutely love the insight into the episodes. Just one thing on Todd Standing philosophy that everything is a Bigfoot. The way you said it was exactly opposite of sound thinking . If you hear a unknown noise (and there is no evidence of what it is) it is then innocent of being caused by a specific thing (like Bigfoot). So if you would just randomly contribute it to Bigfoot, you would be finding it guilty (of being caused by Bigfoot). And maybe you misspoke but if you used Todd's kind of philosophy that everything is Bigfoot, there is absolutely no way to learn insight into (Bigfoot behavior) or what's going on because if everything is Bigfoot there's nothing to compare and contrast. This would literally go against any sound way of investigating something, and this is exactly the opposite of skepticism. Oh yeah and I would be delighted if you had one of these directors additions for every episode. 👍

The sound spooks you like a deer gets spooked from the sounds of metal. I wouldn't confuse this sound with tree rot falling on other trees, it is unique in every way. They explained they’d saw brown bears, black bears all white bears but never a panda. Obviously they decided to go hunt a panda in the wild. The first hunt lasted 30yrs with no sight of a panda. It wasn’t for another 30 yrs until one was finally caught. Pandas are real. Now if it took 60yrs to find a fairly unintelligent animal that’s black and white in a predominantly green setting think about how challenging hunting and killing a Sasquatch would be. Most likely they are far more intelligent and physically capable then a panda. Just saying. Absence of proof isn’t proof of absence. Stay well✌️

Todd Standing sounds and acts like a fraud. One who substitutes intensity for information, by my measure of men. I do really well with sorting out liars from truth tellers,bu I have made mistakes. Most people will believe what they want to believe on less information than I personally have on the subject. For me Todd cuts cross grained and is too concerned with his ego and beating his own drum. Now add the money factor to it. He charges people to take them out in the woods and traipse them around.

    Questions regarding big foot:
    1. Why haven't we found remains of any bigfoot or its ancestors? Where do they go when they are sick/elderly/dying?
    2. Is their population large, if so why has no one found a living one? If their population is small, how do they reproduce and remain genetically viable? Also if their pop is small how come Todd can always find sights and sounds of them?
    3. What is such a large creature eating? Where are the remains of their prey if carnivorous? Where are there excretions?
    4. For all the unexplained phenomenon (sounds, footprints, structures, etc.) is big foot the only possible explanation?
    5. Why does no one have footage using trailcams or nightvision? If they know to avoid both, how do they know this?
    6. What standard of evidence is required to prove that big foot exists?
In my opinion you need to have a very good answer to all these questions (and more) to be able to say that you are sure a Sasquatch exists.

There have been a bunch of known large land mammals taxonomically reclassified as distinct species, but they were known long before reclassification. I live in northern Indiana and I have a true story I would like to share with you. We have a cabin about 300 miles NNW of Thunder Bay Ontario. We drive till the road stops then take a float plane in to our cabin. My Dad built our cabin in 68 and we go up 3 times a year. The end of May, mid July and early Sept. One fall trip maybe 15 or 20 years ago now, we wanted to portage to a different lake. In the spring and fall if the weather was cool we would go after some Lake Trout. If I had to take a guess, I have been on that lake 30 to 40 times now. We are the only cabin on our lake and there is no cabins on the Lake Trout lake. We have 3 small boats we just leave on that lake because we go there so often. We had 6 men in 3 Boats that day. We all kinda went our own way and started fishing. It was maybe 4 hours later (around 2 or 3 pm) all 3 boats meet back up in the middle of the lake and we all killed our engines and started to eat our lunch. It was a beautiful sunny day with no clouds and the lake went completely flat, no wind at all. Ok now this is the part where you are going to think I'm nuts, so here I go. The first sound came from our north (the way back to our lake) The best way I can describe it was someone holding a note on a freaking pipe organ. The notes were perfect, not flat or anything like that. The notes would last maybe 5 to 8 seconds, that's a long time to hold a perfect note. When the one would die out, another would start from a different shore at a higher or lower note but all just perfect and sounded like a pipe organ. All the sounds were just single notes, we never heard 2 different notes at the same time. This lasted for maybe 15 or 20 min. We all 6 were hearing 20 + pipe organs play single notes around a lake with no cabins in the Canadian wilderness. The notes were extremely loud (like feel it in your chest loud) and with no wind and land no more the 400 yards away in any direction the notes would echo around a bit. My brother did not want to make the portage so he stayed in our lake with one of my uncles. Later back in our cabin we all were telling my uncle and brother what we heard. They both said they could also hear the notes from our direction. We never saw a thing and I don't know what we heard. We didn't see anything on the ground nothing in the trees, or water and boy we all were looking. About the only thing I do know there is no pipe organs around that lake. Over the years we have been back to that many times and nothing. Over the years we have asked State biologist, they look at me like I'm nuts. I even have asked a First Nation friend from that area. At least he gave me a kinda answer. Are you ready, I sure was. He said some things in nature are best left unknown. lol What that is your answer, I was so ready to find out and that's what I got. I'm the last one of the 8 people still alive who heard the pipe organ notes around a lake in the Canadian wilderness. I don't have a clue what was making the sound but something was and I'm just trying to find out what. Thank you. Greg P.S. I did find a guy from NE Ontario and asked him if he had ever heard anything like we did. This is his response. "Wow very interesting Greg. I have never heard pipe organs. But yes I did have 1 strange sound encounter. Way back on native land taking photo's of moose. Well looking for moose anyway. The wind suddenly picked up as I moved down a trail towards the river I was going to check. It was like a storm was going to blow in. It actually got dark. There were no big thunder clouds though. Then off in the distance I heard mumbling...couldn't make it out. It got louder. It was chanting. Like native chanting and there was a distant drum beat. The sound got closer and closer as I stood there. Then it was all around me. I could here as clear as day Indian singing just like at a drum festival. It lasted about 30 seconds and then just faded away. It was not like a sound off in the distance. It came and surrounded me and then vanished. Withing a minute or so the sun was back out and it was like nothing happened. I was at least 5 miles from any houses that I know of. It was very strange, but oddly I did not find it terrifying. I didn't leave the woods. I didn't feel threatened".

@@TheRealAlbertJ yes, that's what we all said. I suppose maybe even a flute, just perfect notes but the volume was so loud that's why we all said a pipe organ. I'm sure there is a logical explanation but we couldn't see anything but in the bush you can't see very deep in from the shoreline. We thought it was very strange that the local first nations people didn't have a clue what we heard. Thank you Greg

Les, I love your analytical approach on this subject! I enjoy the different series. When you are at home, are there times when you feel almost too comfortable? I used to get "itchy feet ", anxious and needing to back in the wild. I have combat-related PTSD and am currently battling pancreatic cancer. I honestly live vicariously through you and it helps me with the pain and anxiety. Saying thank you somehow rings hollow., but thank you anyway. Stay safe in these difficult times my friend.

Analytical? Like when he talks about his astrological sign as if it matters? Like when he talks about being unable to disprove Bigfoot as if that is somehow evidence of Bigfoot? You can't prove a negative. Period. You just don't believe in anything without evidence because then you are a fool.

What I absolutely love about this episode, as I watched it more than a dozen times, is that I know Les Stroud is a big star. We are viewers and we do not know him. But the fact that he sits on his back porch drinking coffee and eating granola yogurt with bananas and his own homemade maple syrup makes him relatable. I found in my business that it is critical to be relatable to everyone you come in contact with as often and as much as possible. I think it’s why I like this guy so much. He makes you feel like he’s just a regular guy

Les! Thank you for these commentaries..they really give you lots of insights into your videos..really appreciate it! I do agree with you in regards to Todd Standing..how people just don’t like his personality.. It’s not that he’s confident..he’s what you’d call excessively overbearing.. The guy could announce the second coming..God appointed!..and people would still discount the messenger and walk the opposite direction! It’s like you’re not allowed any plausible explanation, or allowed to think really..because he’s pushing a one only explanation, his. The narratives are forcefully presented too.. and they are narratives..full of conjecture and dogged determinism to explain every sound or bent branch in the forest..as the work of a Sasquatch! ..and it’s his personality doing all the talking! No judgement..we all are what we are, as we were made 😊.. but I really do believe people dismiss most of everything he says because they don’t like his personality.. and not on merit of his work..

At 14:31, when describing the incident in Alaska, I noticed that two of the dead trees, in the background, moved toward each other! Just as Les stops and looks over in that direction, two of the trees, which are quite large, judging by the ones which are immediately behind him, moved together. First they moved a little bit, then, just as Director Les says that he had heard the vocalization of a great ape, the two trees moved dramatically toward each other. Watch the back of the dead forest, behind and to the left of Les.
