@@mmmatthewww Thanks for timeline update, Matthew...I was curious if you or any of your bandmates know if Dan ever played slide guitar in performance or recording?...I can't seem to recall any instance he did throughout his long and varied musical career and he certainly played a multitude of various guitars
@@kentstephenson5925 .....Well, I was only off by 5 years! I just looked at the CD from this recording and it is dated August 26th 2005. I don't think Dan Toler did play slide. He did a very good job of emulating the sound of slide guitar in some of his phrasing techniques however.
@@mmmatthewww Thanks for date correction. Yes he certainly did a lot of slide emulation with his phrasing and especially volume swells, but I don't recall slide ever either...Dan was my "guitar hero" of the 1980's, especially when G.A.B. would open for Stevie Ray Vaughn and usually steal his thunder. Dan was The "Holdsworth" of southern rock in my opinion.
@@kentstephenson5925 - The G.A.B. was a great band. I actually had the surprise pleasure of meeting Allan Holdsworth in Hawaii of all places. I've got a couple of pictures of us sitting outside on a garden bench swapping stories. As humble and unassuming a guy as you'd ever expect to meet. Dan Toler was simply an amazing guitarist as well, and I like your reference to AH .

Thanks so much for posting such an out of the way tribute tune to the late great Dangerous Dan! When was this recorded?
Thanks Kent! I believe this was the summer of 2010.
