Great video. I bought Honda Tadakatsu from the tavern to be a sub city general. I should've saved my gold and waited for one of these guys to pop up. I already have some I could've used like Dae Mganiji, or Wei Quing.
Thanks 🙂🙏 Don’t worry about it. You will have plenty more opportunities to get new generals and to get gold, so no problem if you get 1-2 generals that don’t quite meet what you want 😇
@@RedEvony really appreciate it. Your videos have helped me increase my rank too. Currently an Earl. Slow climb to Duke but getting closer. We need a video for dragon gear and below to use.
I actually thought about that, but wasn’t sure how many people would be interested in that. Even my videos on Ares and Achaemenidae, I got some people asking why?!, when civilization gear is out 😅😅 Ok, I’ll consider it 👌
Thank you for all your guide videos. You are awesome. Can you please comment on Himiko who’s marked as Expert at being Mayor. But the basic skill mentioned is followed by “when General is leading the army”. No mention of “when as Mayor”. Thank you.
Evony’s classifications are a bit weird, but yes, Himiko can be used as a sub mayor. Any general whose skill has “...when leading the army” can be used as a Mayor. The important thing is that the general has debuffs in his/her skills 🙂👍
i have developmental generals to speed up build. theyre easier to obtain and i can sell them later for runestone chests. getting the sub generals for pvp requires time and patience. i have a couple stand-ins for now. waiting for the ones i want to be available in the mementos event since theyre not in the tavern.
I have greatly enjoyed yer videos and have encouraged my alliance mates to watch them as well. I do wonder if you ever make "update" videos when new generals are released? Such as when Ashoka was released during the event a month or 2 ago. I have not looked through all of the videos that you have released so you may have done this and I am just unaware. Either way, keep up the good work and I wish you success in yer endeavors.
Love the video. I put sub city mayor's in two categories... development vs battlefield/KE(server war & monarch). The KE mayor's I use are Jefferson/Nordic Barbarian. Gear debuff seige/ground and mounted troop easily but not much for range. Development time is a greater part of the week so once Battlefield and KE is over I swap to Jefferson. I add skill books to help with troop training, construction and gold production. I don't have any specific gear for them. But I refine most to troop training. Is this a good approach? Look forward to a reply or video.
I don’t think it’s a bad approach. The difficulty here is the need to have 2 sets of sub mayors. Personally, I’m not very big on sub city development (with some exceptions 🙂). I feel it requires a lot of resources to make it viable, so I don’t go overly out of my way to develop my subs. That being said, increasing the training speed on your subs is good 👌 But if you have limited resources (refine stones, gems, etc), sub city development should be a secondary priority, imo
Can you please make a video on how to decide what kind of player you want to be? Offensive or defensive. This is important to distinguish as early as you can so that you can choose your generals appropriately. Many of the generals you named have shown up in my tavern and I passed on them because I don’t think that I need them.. but maybe I do lol.. Also, can you please make a video on which generals (for sub city too) you would want to strive for if you are wanting to be an offensive player and again which ones you’d want if you are wanting to be a defensive player? Thank you!!!
Thanks for the video... one question I'm using 3 Arminius, 1 Baldwin, 2 Andrew Jackson and 1 Harald.... But, some members in my alliance says using all harald in all slots is best for F2P but i find arminius better than him.. Can you tell who is better Arminius or Harald?
The answer to that is a bit relative imo. I don’t believe that having only one of any general is the best way to go (with 1 or 2 possible exceptions 😄). Making an assumption of the stage you are at right now, I would say that Arminius is likely better for you than Harald 👌 But it’s kind of a close call Also, keep in mind that you can swap your sub generals at any time, if you get your hands on better options or your debuff priorities change 😉👍
Thank you for this video. Some questions.... 1. Just curious but what country are you friom? 2. Do you think Baldwin is better than Jackson? I think Baldwin and Norwegian Viking are underrated. 3. Is Cixi better than Nero? Is it better to decrease the opponent's defense or HP, if I can only choose one?
Thank you for watching 🙏 In terms of range troop attack debuff, Baldwin and Nordic Barbarian King are better than Andrew Jackson. However, Jackson provides 2 relevant debuffs, while Baldwin and NBK only really provide 1 each that is meaningful. In addition, those two are considerably much harder to get than Jackson. So for practicality, Andrew Jackson will still be much more preferable. Personally, I’d say Cixi is much more useful than Nero for most players. There are scenarios where having multiple Neros would be better, but most players aren’t at that level yet, and those that are can’t be bothered to use Nero for practical reasons. Nero can definitely still be used as a sub general, if that’s what you wanted to know. The choice between HP and Defense will depend on which troop type you are trying to debuff. E.g. For ground troops, you need to debuff both HP and defense; for Cavs, mostly just HP. I’m from UK, but currently work in Africa 👍
great video, but i am still wondering about one thing: do the debuffs also work when you're being attacked, but your sub-cities are checked off in the auto-reinforce function?
Thanks 😊🙏 No. For defense, your debuffs will not apply if your sub-cities are checked off, or all the troops in your sub-city are dead. For offense, debuffs will not apply if the sub-cities are not attached to the attacking march. 👌 Debuffs from research or the leading general (attacking or wall general) will still apply even if the sub-cities are not there
Thank you for the video Aka, I have 4 Andrew Jacksons, 3 Cixis, 2 Margrets, Arminius and Mansa Musa. I can only have 8 sub cities. What combination of them should I use?
There is no perfect or best combination when it comes to these kind of things, just priorities. Ideally, you want to prioritize debuffing ranged troop attack, so the Andrew Jacksons are a good choice. Next is debuffing ground troops, so, Cixi is good as well. For starters, try something like 4 Andrew Jacksons, 2 Cixis and 2 Margarets, for balance. Try that combination out and see how it works for you. You can always adjust later 🙂👍
Hi good video. Just need some clarification. Early in the video I thought you commented that the general skill needs to say both “reduces” and “sub-city?” For Andrew Jackson it only says reduces will general is leading the army. It doesn’t say anything about sub city? Just want to be sure I understand. Thanks!
Thank you 🙏 In the video I stated that the skill needs both “reduces” and “when general is leading the army” OR “when general is mayor”. So you are good with Andrew Jackson 👍
Question aka do you upgrade the sub generals ? Like star upgrade and cultivate does that do anything? And by the way your videos are awesome, what gear do u suggest on wall general?
Thank you 😁🙏 And YES for the sub generals. You need to level them up, and cultivate them (You can check out my Cultivation video to find out a bit more 😉) When you cultivate the correct stats for your sub general to the required level (because there is a specific requirement of 900 for sub city generals), it increases the survival rate of troops in your sub city, which is kinda important. For the wall general gear, that really depends on the wall general that you have, and the type(s) of troops you want to buff up. Personally, I have full achaemenidae gear on my wall general. Some people have a mix of ares and achaemenidae. There is no one “correct” way to gear up your wall general.
One question ... Does building flat stats on sub city general gears applies to the whole troop in that account or it only applies on just the sub city troops?
Regarding sub city debuff generals - For PvP, Yes; For Monsters, No. However, if you fill your subs with monster debuff generals, then it is likely for Monsters, Yes; for PvP, No. But no one ever does that 😂 so it’s not really been tested So, just take the first response as what it is 👌

Yes!

Yes it does! 👌 But you’d have to solo the monsters for that. Subs can’t be attached during rallies
