  • Headed back to my trusty spot in Gippsland for some more crevicing in search of pickers. Also tried the detector (SDC2300) up and down the creek with no results. No worries. What came out of the crevices made it good day spent prospecting with some good gold for my efforts. This spot just keeps on giving and so I just keep returning. Stick around until the end to see the weigh in. Thanks. Enjoy!

    Hello there,this comment comes good 18 months late, I would fan gravel and muck downstream in that running water and pick bits off the bedrock with snuffle bottle. It's very difficult to lift flat bits off smooth rock.All You need is 2 lt plastic juice bottle with one label cut out and smaller one washed without scraping the plastic.Leave top on and look under water through that.Have locking tweezers for "pickers" and You will get every colour without lengthy digging and panning, regards George

    thanks very much . enjoying your vids . gives me some thing to keep me interested . i am in Qld down on the south border and i seem to only get out about once every 4 years prospecting for half a day . if i lived down further south i would be into it every chance i got . maybe i should move i hate the heat up here anyway .

    Nice work with those pickers mate good video ,I own a mine lab gpx and it detects a lot deeper than 30cm its a great detector it also picks up very small targets.

      @DigginForGold  7 років тому +1

      Hmmm. I replied to this previously but my reply has disappeared. Anyways, yeah the GPX's are where its at (well, I suppose "where its at" might be the GPZ these days). The GPX4500 or the SDC2300 are what Im thibking for when Im ready to purchase.

    Top shit man those pickers look nice keep it up man
    Did you run them over the sdc to see if it would pick them up ?

    • @DigginForGold
      @DigginForGold  7 років тому

      Cheers dude. Yeah I did but they were too deep I think. Its hard to tell from the vid but those crevices were up to 30cm deep. Maube someone more experienced could find em I dunno. But I ran it over the area when I arrived and couldnt discern a signal.

    • @jamie62263
      @jamie62263 7 років тому

      Diggin' For Gold what sensitivity were you running the sdc at ?
      Still a nice amount tho !! Let me know when your coming up here next I got a few spots for ya 👌

    • @DigginForGold
      @DigginForGold  7 років тому +1

      Two mostly...like while searching up and down the creek. Then just had a play around and tried three and four at that rock section from the video. I dunno what I'm doin lol.
      Hopefully coming up that way within the month. I'll let ya know...

      Diggin' For Gold I've been considering buying one so I'm just curious on its capabilities.

    • @DigginForGold
      @DigginForGold  7 років тому

      Probably best to judge it from people who are more experienced than me. A more experienced user may have been able to set it up better and find something at this spot. I read the faint deep targets can be hard to hear. From what I've read and seen though the SDC2300 is extremely capable. Despite not finding anything with it yet, its still on the top of my list for detectors to get.

    • @DigginForGold
      @DigginForGold  6 років тому

      Ey mate. You can send me a message from my about page on my channel. But yeah honestly I'm not real keen to go making and charging people for these as the quality could be better. But for under $200 (less than some sluices anyways) you could get your own 3D printer and then make one for under $20.
