That is an amazing video. Thanks for making this content. Do you think the bike can take two up with side bags for touring?. I know adventure motorbike like BMW GS would be more appropriate but i am a big fan of modern retro look like the Street twin or Z900RS.
Thanks Sam that means alot to hear, i've got a better mic now & am about to do a 5 week trip to Greece and back so please stay tuned for that! I think that question would really be pushing the limits of the twin plus I don't know many pillions that would fit between the side bags comfortably. I'd look at a T120 or T100 for that, make sure your luggage and pillion are comfy as often the bags hang exactly where the pillion's legs normally go.. Enjoyed the video. I’m in Sydney Australia waiting for my street twin to come back from the shop. Gear selector and wiring loom after 7000km! Miss it but it is very wet right now so I would probably be driving anyway. My loan bike is a Moto Guzzi V7 ... nice but the triumph is more my style. Look forward to seeing the next instalment. Cheers Ron
Hi Ron welcome to my channel, I hope you get yours back soon, that is very early for any wiring loom issues, hope that's under warranty! I bet there are some great roads to be enjoying out there, I tried a V7 before my Triumph but it was not as refined as i'd hoped for, I did enjoy the shaft drive & stronger rumble but not for longer than half hour test ride.... If you click on my icon then 'videos' you can see all the instalments + Scotland + Devon & Cornwall too :)
@@AnotherHipster It is a 2016 bike first put on the road Nov 2017. I bought it in August with 3000km. Was going to buy a new one but saving $5000 for a few less hp and 3000k was too attractive. The dealer called yesterday. Triumph covering both the wiring and selector they are known problems on the early water cooled 900s. Heaps of great roads over this vast country, but work and bad weather have kept me off them so far this summer. It has either been just too hot or too wet to get serious. I am a fair weather rider:). Catching up with your other vids as time permits. Good job. Cheers
@@rross47 Hi Ron, that is good atleast you thought things over. I was looking at the older one [mine is 2019] and then I found my local dealer had one ex-demo for £2,200 less than asking price [nearly 1/4 off!] so I had less thought involved. Very convenient but I would be happy with any of the model range. Glad to hear yours is getting sorted and I hope you get to be out there soon, we had some hot days but mainly just lockdown after another lockdown so its tough to get out there! Cheers looking forward to seeing you soon
Cheers John, I wish more young people were into bikes too. Like the heyday, I was at the Bike Shed CC last night and the average age was about 30 i'd say. Not old by any means but I'm 22 and only have a handful of friends my age who ride. You ride safe too, London is crazy!
Thoroughly enjoyed your first instalment this is my kind of riding I’m with you why ride so fast on those roads when you have fantastic views right in front of you. Looking forward to the next instalments.
Thats great to hear thanks, fantastic views they were indeed. Subscribe for the reminders, next video is out on Thursday eve and we are getting closer to the camping stage of the trip too. ride safe see you soon
Jealous of you having that in better weather, it comes in circles though I went to Scotland and had 23*C weather for 8 days straight, only 5 minutes of rain the whole trip 😎 will never forget that
Hi john sorry for the delay, yes its a brilliant bike I was a bit disappointed with the fuel range so swapped to a R9T. Look at some Givi MT501 bags if you are searching for affordable luggage options for the bike 👍
Being in the North West I am lucky to be able to do these roads at least once a month and your videos help to remind me the bike riding gem that the lake District is I have come to realise a modern classic bike is probably the best option for this type of riding and GB touring so much that I am thinking of changing the Tiger 800 for a street scrambler however your footage of the speed twin is lovely and certainly a contender I did a week end last week on the heritage softail no issues at all which is also at low speed to enjoy the scenery . What do you ride now great video 👍
Cheers Alan I think modern classics are really capable, I have the Urban GS now. I’m loving it I has a shaft drive, 200 mile genuine range, BMW heritage and it’s cheaper to run/service than I thought. I’d really encourage you to stick one of those on your test ride list, I couldn’t have anything else now 😁
Just adding onto my comment in 1st & 2nd gear it crackles and bangs pretty much on demand which is amazing. But 3rd gear & up it just quietly plods away (with power anytime still) which is great for longer trips but it still has a nice purr to it. I do wear earplugs but mainly for the wind noise. Stock exhaust is just incredible too on the Urban Gs 2017. 2021 model is euro 5 and has a bit tooo much bling for me
I am so jealous. Stunningly beautiful! Thank you so much. I can wait to start my journey. As for trip hints, I think haggis was a decent hint, but bagpipes was way too easy a hint. "Highland Games" would have not been too bad or something about "Skye" but bagpipes, geez. Just funning ya. Do you watch Scotty Kerekes, aka Scooter Tramp Scotty? His last video hit me right between the eyes. If you watch that one, Fear, And Bicycles, I just realized that little voice has been hanging around me and telling all the scaring reasons I should go out for a 3 month adventure or I shouldn't be spending all this money for UA-caming. It was a perfect time for me to hear that. And then today I see you heading out doing exactly what I want to do. Thank you for your moral support and sharing. You're awesome!
Very welcome, yes I thought the hints were a bit strong but we'll whisky through them and make it work, I don't but I will check that out........ Thanks for your support too. If this video had 0 views I would still be happy with it because it summed up my trip, I can only post so many photos of my bike in different locations and I have always needed somewhere to put the best bits. Should get more interesting with the camping side too, Speak soon & hope your planning is going well. Come by the UK on your travels....
Hi your films are awesome man great content! I am currently riding a little 125cc SYM Jet 14 LC. i am wanting to go on weekend away trips to the likes of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Where is the best place to buy a rider 550 sat nav? Dose it need wifi to work. Do you need to hard wire?
Hi Mathhew cheers I really enjoyed making them. That’s a brilliant bike, I had a 125cc for three years and it was good fun. Rider 550 j&s are selling for a good price atm. No it has a 9hour battery & you can just charge it up at nights. It will come with the mount. You can hard wire or just stick a USB cable in there 😎 Let me know where you go. No WiFi is only for the updates
I think they make a great first bike, very lightweight & has ABS + Traction control. It feels like a 250cc with extra power, but not crazy enough to get into too much trouble. Good pricing & fairly cheap to insure I think its a great option for first bike. I'd say try and get a test ride and see how you feel :)
I like your video and also as you spoke about the reason why did you ride this awesome retro bike with enough power, but with calm character. Anyway, after a test ride around 50 miles, I was disappointed with the wind ahead which you have got all-time over 70 km/h and it's very uncomfortable. I was really shocked and I was starting to look for a more comfortable motorcycle for a longer drive, even though I will mostly drive in the town. Did you try to use some windshield? Does it worth money and help it? I like retro but hate so much wind ahead discomfort. Thanks for the reply. Great video!
Hi thanks I’m really glad you liked it, I did need a break from the wind after a while. I have a friend who commutes on his every day and he’s got a windscreen that really helps. I came close to getting a windscreen but then I got a new bike instead. I hope you go for it I do miss my Triumph 👍
Hey! I know I'm a bit late to the party on this series, but I've got a quick question I'm hoping you could help with. How do you find the Street Twin for comfort on longer rides? I'm thinking of getting one of these bikes when I pass my test in the next month or so and I'm just worried about the comfort aspect! I'm 5ft10, 31/32 inch inseam - there's a ton of conflicting info out there from people saying it's either grand, or a bit cramped haha
Thanks I’m the same build as you and I found it fine, after about 4 hours of motorway my butt hurt a bit but it’ll be time to stop for fuel around then anyways. Apart from that I found it totally fine and super lightweight. Any other questions I’m happy to answer 😎
@@AnotherHipster Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly! That's great news haha - I would hope to do a decent amount of long weekend rides so stiff / sore knees on longer rides would have probably ruled out the bike. Which would be a shame, because it's a flipping lovely machine!
@@timchambers55 I did 12,000 miles in 1 year with mine so don't think its just for short journeys. My longest day was 570 miles, but I tend to average about 200 miles a day on a trip. I think you'd be fine apart from a numb bum after about 4 hours I never felt uncomfy on mine
Got it just before Christmas, the power is great especially in Road mode it pulls really well & sounds great all the way up the rain. Cruises at motorway speeds happily too with minimal vibrations. This has 12 more HP than the previous model & upgraded Brembo brakes :)
Not sure, just got my new tyres fitted and it no longer does that. I think just me + luggage makes the front end lighter and easier to wobble. Keeping an eye on it but never had that before, big 10,000 mile service coming up so will get them to check it over. Weird stuff!
Thanks! More of these episodes to come with extra scenery, premier tomorrow night. I did it in rain mode because the front kept sliding when I pulled out at T junctions, it was very wet & greasy all day and Rain takes the edge off before the Traction control kicks in. Rain just smooths out the ride too

Thankyou I am really glad you enjoyed it and thanks for making it, worth checking out the area again i'm sure you'd enjoy it. Which bike would you take?
Yes I’d like to go again. I haven’t done it on a bike. I would refit the panniers to the Z. Bit of a slog from Cornwall on the Royal Enfield.
@@Saddlebags73 It would be fun, I will be stopping off there in August for a evening so might get up early and do the pass one more time before moving on. I instantly thought you'd say the Z but both good choices
Like your video you should come up to Scotland
Cheers Martin I had nearly two weeks in Scotland last summer at 23°c per day doing the entire coast, chasing the storm around mid-august. Absolutely loved it & going again this year. Anywhere you'd recommend? Always great to hear from a local what is best please :)
Great video, and very glad I found your channel! (I guess UA-cam steers me to fellow Triumph Street Twin enthusiasts 😁 )
Your style of riding is very enjoyable to watch, and coupled with the beautiful vistas from your trip (along with your narration; not too talky at all, IMO), the nearly 30 minute video flew by! Can't wait to see the next installments, and keep up the good work! 👍🏻
Thanks John, the Street Twin is beautiful I can see why it has followers :D Thanks for your kind comments I will keep up the style and make another half hour fly by. Catch you next time, thanks for watching & your nice comment too mean alot
I have a 2005 t100, and I do like most video s with any 900 cc bike. Shows me u don't need a 1200 to do excursion rides.
I’m planning to buy a street twin, in the near future.
Hi Simeon, thanks I think they are beautiful bikes and I hope you'll enjoy yours if you go for it :)
Great video! I’m always glad to see younger people getting into motorcycles, & riding to the conditions of the road etc. Ride safe 👍🏻
Subscribe for the reminders, next video is out on Thursday eve and we are getting closer to the camping stage of the trip too. ride safe see you soon
very nice ride ;)
thankyou glad you enjoyed :)
lovely places there, I did the same roads last year. I mean Newlands and the Honister later. I got better weather though :D
Jealous of you having that in better weather, it comes in circles though I went to Scotland and had 23*C weather for 8 days straight, only 5 minutes of rain the whole trip 😎 will never forget that
Liked your video for the grunt over the speed bump at 5:02
hahaha thanks, I have flown over these bumps before. More funny noises to come in my Scotland series :)
I just bought my street twin want to tour on her so good video
Hi john sorry for the delay, yes its a brilliant bike I was a bit disappointed with the fuel range so swapped to a R9T. Look at some Givi MT501 bags if you are searching for affordable luggage options for the bike 👍
@@AnotherHipster can you get a bigger tank then , that would be better?
Stock exhaust is just incredible too on the Urban Gs 2017. 2021 model is euro 5 and has a bit tooo much bling for me
Thanks for quick response note your comments 👍
Ohhh and thank you for the mention. 👍
Very welcome thanks for your advice
No WiFi is only for the updates
amazing video thanks. thinking of getting street twin for my fist bike. thoughts?
How long have you had the street twin. I like the styling but about the power
Got it just before Christmas, the power is great especially in Road mode it pulls really well & sounds great all the way up the rain. Cruises at motorway speeds happily too with minimal vibrations. This has 12 more HP than the previous model & upgraded Brembo brakes :)
@@AnotherHipster cheers, good video too
so? what was the problem with the front wheel?
Not sure, just got my new tyres fitted and it no longer does that. I think just me + luggage makes the front end lighter and easier to wobble. Keeping an eye on it but never had that before, big 10,000 mile service coming up so will get them to check it over. Weird stuff!
wow ! great riding and nice landscape !! Did you ride in Rain or Road Mode ?
Thanks! More of these episodes to come with extra scenery, premier tomorrow night. I did it in rain mode because the front kept sliding when I pulled out at T junctions, it was very wet & greasy all day and Rain takes the edge off before the Traction control kicks in. Rain just smooths out the ride too
@@AnotherHipster thanks for detailed answer !!
@@fazerhomer welcome hope it wasnt too boring :P Thanks
@@AnotherHipster no no ! never boring ! I'm addicted of this bike
@@fazerhomer Thats great to hear, Episode 2 [tonight 8:45pm] UK Time, I chat a bit less and you can hear more of the bike plus see how I get my camping setup on it
i guess those are not the right tyres in the rain
No I have heard that too, despite being Pirellis they slide around in the rain. Can confirm its true
Careful I’m Italian :) I like your travel setup and I’m thinking about since I’d like to travel
@@c.g.c2067 Thanks i've added a flysheet & pole setup for cooking in the rain/without trees for shelter. It also means for quick showers I can tuck under my shelter rather than get all my sleeping clothes damp. Where do you want to travel first? We can swap to social media if you'd like to chat more :)
Well to be fully honest I’m about to purchase a street twin at the beginning of September if I find a good deal on a 2019 model either new or second hand.
However my plans are to equip the bike with bags and travel throughout the Dolomites.
