My mom had a friend in California who subscribed to a Phoenix, AZ newspaper 60 plus year's ago. My dad asked if she was from there and that's why she read the paper. She told him no, she only checked the weather report. He asked why and she said that when it rained in Phoenix she knew she needed to water her cacti.
