I just bought one last week. It has around a 100 miles on it now. I have a 2015 sitting in the driveway as well with over 100,000 on it. I will be giving it to my son. I love Nissan trucks!
NIssan has a hit on their hands with the Frontier for the best value and reliability now that they are the only ones left with a naturally aspirated V6.
I got the base model sv for under 40k. 4x2 and doesn't have fog lights, tow hitch, truck bed isn't lined and doesn't have the tech package. But it does have the same 310hp engine you get with the most premium package. Love my truck!
Just brought the extended cab 2WD version home last week. I traded in my 2018 GMC Canyon extended cab V6 truck and I wanted to buy a new one but Nissan is the only game in town for the truck I like. I love the size, power, comfort, build quality and the look of the Frontier. I don't need the extra passenger space of a club cab and really appreciate the 6ft truck bed. When comparing to my old GMC Canyon there are some things I miss: The stereo sounded a little better, it had more USB ports, I liked the steps on the rear bumper, it had a better turning radius. Things I like better about the Frontier: The spray on bed liner and the led cargo lights, the 120 volt outlet in the back seat area and the back of the bed, the small rear seats flip up and gives me full storage space, The truck sits almost level, a bit lower, and the bed is not as deep. I like that because it's easier to put things in the bed when reaching over the side but mostly because cars behind me are not completely hidden behind the tailgate especially at night. The GMC sat at a much steeper angle and sometimes people follow so close that I didn't know they were back there. I'm very happy with the price when compared to the other mid sized trucks but the Frontier stands alone in my preferred setup with a V6. I got all the SV option packages for $37,120.00 which was $2000 below MSRP and the dealer did not hit me with any junk fee's so just under $41,500 OTD. There seems to be plenty of inventory so I'm sure there are better deals ahead.
I love these mid sized trucks that are not techie this truck is perfect it is simple and affordable I also like the fact it is naturally aspirated and not a turbo
Very nice, fairly affordable mid size truck….thanks for the review. While everyone else is debuting the new Tacoma, Gold Pony marches to his own drummer!
I have the problematic 2022 model and I still love it. Did the recall repairs so all good now. My radio sucks, the Apple car play has delay in calls, but I think that’s just Nissan is general. Still LOVE my truck. It has a lot of power and it looks really really good. Upgrading from S to ProX soon ;)
Personally, I do not understand the need for a telescoping steering wheel. I have never had one and have been able to find or get used to the vehicle just fine. IMHO, it just adds unnecessary cost. But then again, I can do without a lot of what comes standard in cars nowadays, like electronic windows, e-brakes, start /stop, etc. I bet car companies could easily shave off 5000 from the MSRP by not including a lot of the bells and whistles.
I’ve been a Honda guy for 25 years with the exception of a 2008 Sentra. That Sentra wasn’t sexy but it sure was reliable. I’ve been looking at getting a Ridgeline, but I really want a crew cab with a 6-ft bed as well as a natural V-6. The Frontier seems to be the only game in town with those two criteria. That said, the only real complaint with the Sentra I had was the absence of a telescopic steering wheel, and I’m disappointed that Nissan still hasn’t made this feature standard in most of their vehicles.
I ordered mine last Monday....I just got the base S trim just because the same engine was in any truck whatever the trim. Looking forward to getting it after they build it.
The SV long wheelbase is a great truck and comes standard with the convenience and tow package. Probably the best value overall. Note payload in this LWB model should be 1100 lbs per the door sticker. It would be nice if Nissan would make LED headlights standard but Auxito makes really good LED bulbs that work in the stock halogens. They have the same cut lines and light patterns as a halogen bulb.
Nissan is a star these days and probably thru out 25. Not many on lots now. They sell well. I went to look at 4XPRO and SL trims. Its a simple truck with very simple and good, reliable block. The ride was simply nice and plenty power for mid-size pick up. Was told, more in transit. The SV is too empty for me, options wise. But, its cheap. Was told, more are in transit. This might be my next one. I am tired of all the recalls and block/transmission issues by all big car companies. I just want to drive, simple as that.
As someone who was looking at the frontier to possibly trade in my Ford Maverick I’m very disappointed it doesn’t have a telescoping steering wheel. When I sat in it, it was very difficult to find a comfortable seating position, and my Maverick is a lot smaller and I have no problem. It’s a shame they possibly lost a sale for such a simple feature.
Get over it. The Maverick is also a great little truck. But I'm sure it has some shortcomings too. If you're ok with the short bed, the Ridgeline is a much more substantial truck than the Maverick.
Gone is the 20k basic pickup.............precovid in 2020 i was looking at new frontiers crewcabs for 24k 2wd.......heck even the base 20k ford maverick goes for 30 k+..............yup they bait you with a low price than they jack it up......greed greed greed!
It seems Nissan is having 4th of July sale. Going to check the Frontier out. The prices on the dealer site I'm looking at have drop by a few grand. If true I'm getting me one.
The frontier long bed looks better than Tacoma with long bed. Idk maybe because tacomas are so much more popular that seeing a 6ft bed one looks weird.
The dealership I filmed at charges taxes & tags I'm sure. I just looked at their website and it looks like all their Frontier's are listed from $1,100 - $1,500 off MSRP right now.
On the new Frontiers assembled in the USA, there are not two strait lines anywhere on the body panels. It is absolutely shameful and embarrassing in every way. I have never seen such prices on failed workmanship. So embarrassing. My GF looked at the off-center completely crooked hood and asked me if I was in a accident. I just said nothing..
Hey bud just tell the dealer to take that off. I did it, don’t let these leaches tell u otherwise. And if they refuse, walk out. I guarantee u they will call u back with the price u want to pay. They HAVE to make the sale, so they will do it
You must be kidding. That toy is not worth any where close to $40k in 4x4 long bed. It’s a kiddies toy, not a real work truck. I hope dealerships start going under. They have been screwing the consumer for years now they can’t sell any trucks because they’re overpriced. It’s the people turn to screw the dealers by just not buying.
The dealerships don't set the MSRP. That's done by the manufacturers. You need to keep in mind that $40k now is about equal to $32-33k in 2019 money because of inflation. This is a good truck for many types of work. Definitely not a toy.
@@user-ro4db6ce8q Real inflation since 2019 is in the 20-25% range, yes. Some goods are more affected than others. I know my grocery bill has gone up about 30% since 2019, and my purchasing habits haven't changed.
This guy sounds like he drives a Hatchback as a daily commuter. 😅. He and other people are ruining the practical ability of trucks. Today's pickups are yesterdays soccer mom vehicles. Its sad and embarrassing that people want a luxury truck. As for LED lights being a standard feature, be careful for what you wish for folks. My (1) LED headlight had cost me $749.50 to replace for my Chevy Malibu. Abd that car was a 2017 model. You have to replace the WHOLE assembly with LED head/tailights. You can't just replace it like a traditional Incandescent/Halogen bulb.
Just a lousy commercial.. it's a good pickup but way overpriced for what it is...but then everything is these days. A fool and his money are soon parted....don't be a fool..

much better truck than the 2024 tacoma..

@ManiaFocker longer bed at 6’1” instead of 5’ and the ride is slightly better than the shorter wheelbase. Turning radius is wider though.
LWB also has front and rear stabilizer bars!

Excellent review. Seeing this, I realize that the Honda Ridgeline has the frontier beat in many ways.
Zero to 60 is much better in tow mode as it holds the gear longer & increases rpm
