The voiceovers are better across the board my man for sure. The commentary is good, but, this is you in the moment, in the action, real time doing this on the spot. Which for a barber trying to expand his or her knowledge on the craft, this type of video is perfect in my opinion. The shop noise, the real time thoughts and explanations. You don't get this type of knowledge in a school or even in a commentary sometimes. I feel like commentaries can be like reading your own PowerPoint as your standing in front of the class while they're all reading it if that makes sense. While these live takes are literally what it is to be a barber on your day to day basis. It can get very busy, loud and distracting at times. You may just try new funky methods like this on your own time as well. This is a very cool technique. I struggle with this myself, I'm going to be trying this on my next curly mop. Awesome content as usual!
I think the way you do your videos is perfect. I’ve learned how to cut hair pretty decent just from watching your videos! It’s pretty obvious your a talented barber and teacher and on top of all of that killing the you tube game!
I like the live voiceovers over the studio voice overs. Like you said, you can point out things and elaborate more while on the spot. Appreciate the content, Sean!
Can hear you just fine they way you doing it Bro. I was actually going to compliment on your last video that you get great sound quality, even with all the background noise. Respect.
I have nowhere near as much experience I probably just haven't came across this particular type of curl pattern but usually if I'm combing it with the fine tooth it will fall over my fingers the same direction if it's saturated enough. I'm still to learn a new technique though thank you.
Man I appreciate this kind of detailed gem dropping content, 1 of my 3 sons hair grows exactly like this and this video changed my perspective on cutting that section. Thanks bro!!
Great video! Feel like the life voice over is way better. Because you’re cutting it at the moment so you get to explain it how you truly see it. Also question. When you use this technique. Do you use specific clippers. Since your cutting the hair wet.
Not necessarily. More importantly something you can hold and hold the comb as well. Like I wouldn’t use my Babyliss since they’re so big and round as well. The comb sits nice against the back of the boosted and it’s a little smaller. Easy to hold both
Do you have to turn music off in the shop to make these videos? Always interesting technique, when I do clippers over finger I run the clipper blade across my finger but I really liked the way this looked when you were finished! Always awesome to see other ways to do things 🔥👏🏻🤘🏻
This is freaky; just last night I was watching Ivan Zoot reruns using this same 'backhand' technique. Nice job on the growth patterns. And the background chatter isn't a problem
Bro I love to know, that their are actual PROFESSIONAL barbers out here, doing cuts like this. Because this is how I learned being locked up. And other so called real barbers with their LlC on the out side..this was all wrong and I would just mess it up.. but now I know I was doing it 1st and the other REAL BARBERS were just scared. I was the best barber out of 6 other REAL BARBERS WITH THEIR LIC while locked up. Kuz every1 came to me
But 1 question I got. The way you cut front and back..not side to side. Is that an important thing to know or cutting it side to side or how ur doing it is just perfect? Some1 told me you give people a buzz cut and it will make it look bad on top
Babyliss have a taper blade which is a longer open section. They’re not zero gapped though so they won’t take the zero line out. Longer open section helps connect the next step
Here in Serbia, we can be Barbers if we have talent and learn from videos a lot of things here you can avoid school and lost time there so I learning a lot from you and other barbers from UA-cam, and everything I learned I try to apply on my son, my father in law and my wife's uncle. Hence, I get a lot of practice over last year I should soon start to work in barbershop next Wednesday I go there with my friend who has long hair so I can show my skill to the Boss Barber, if I pass that would be crazy...My Goal is to learn and work in his shop for 1 year then I will prob open my own that's the goal :)
Had to spind the block and drop another comment lol At what point do you maybe recommend to a client a different style of cut? Obviously we give the client what they want 1st and foremost if we are able I am just starting out gonna graduate in a month I am always willing to try something I've never done in order to learn something I never knew. But our clients are basically walking billboards and I never want to give someone a bad cut or they ask for something that isn't realistic or possible for their features. If any of that makes sense what would anybody recommend I do in that situation?
Do it live, heck with the whiners. It’s awesome listening to you. Talk about it when you’re cutting. You can tell just how passionate you are about barbering
You and Chris Bossio inspired me to chase, my dream of barbering and i am in school right now. I’m About to graduate and open my own barbershop, 155FADES Barbershop. So thank you for Your amazing videos. Keep up the good work.
Live voice over is best. You're never thinking about how you're going to do the haircut after it's already done. The decision making happens during the cut. I can hear your voice just fine.
We hear u just fine! Keep using dat mic. I’m sure u are saving a ton of time not having to do voice overs. In addition ur teaching and Bossios teaching are more precise with the mic
I've never really seen a need for clipper over finger, but this is hands down the best application and technique I've seen for it
Don’t need it often but there are times

Thanks so much!!!
This is a game changer 😮💨🔥 I’ve been watching for close to a year now and I definitely prefer the live voice over 🙏
Thanks dude good to know
YES FINALLY. I was put on by Shannon but I’m glad there’s a video out going in detail about “finger over comb”. Thanks
Here you go 👌🏻

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback
@@Seancutshair Where do you get your beats bro?! They low key slap hard
I love when you share with us the more difficult hair ✂️....love the tips...thanks
Welcome!
So glad I came across this tutorial. My son has curly hair and cutting it with scissors is a bit of a nightmare. Thanks for that 💎 !!!
This should help!!!

Yeah there are ways to do that. This is just another technique you can try
my dad's hair is super short and curly, I always cut my fingers doing scissor work on the top, this was super helpful!
Glad I could help!

Live voiceovers for sure way better.
Killin' it.
Thanks dude see you soooooon
Live voice over for sure. Keep it up homie!!
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Great technique! Please keep the live voiceover! It’s so much better!

If I’m not talking and it can hear the music it will get a copyright strike. But usually there’s enough other noise to cancel out the music.
@@Seancutshair ya that’s what I would be worried about is the copyright situation. That’s why I asked 👌🏻🤘🏻
This is freaky; just last night I was watching Ivan Zoot reruns using this same 'backhand' technique. Nice job on the growth patterns. And the background chatter isn't a problem

This is an excellent idea. I usually have issues with thick curly hair so this will clean it
Try it!!!
What’s difference of cutting with shears then using guard system as far as styling and hair growth ?
Shears are definitely more precise and a little softer
How's it different from scissors/finger depth cut? Please reply
Hey Sean quick question. Do you adjust your slim lines? Or do you use them straight out the box?
Straight out 👌🏻
I use scissors + comb = cut (instead, cut below the comb) so use comb as an extension of your finger, using a fine comb then snip
That’s a solid technique haven’t tried it
I appreciate you taking time to give free game! Voiceover or live. Love though does seem to allow for better explanations
I agree 💯
Super nice!🔥 what did you added at the end?
Tomb45 indestructible clay
Thanks man! Appreciated🔥🙏🏻
The alive voice over is good because you learned more about cut hair
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
good video bro been watching for a while now
Thanks!
Why are you using your babyliss only for the open section and after that you use only the boosted ?
Babyliss have a taper blade which is a longer open section. They’re not zero gapped though so they won’t take the zero line out. Longer open section helps connect the next step
Do you use the regular or slim deep tooth blade?
Slim deep tooth
Have the boosted clipper gotten louder over time ?
Yes but not near as loud as my rebels got
The voiceover does not corssover. 👌 love your video.
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
Yeah bro,I think the live voice overs are pretty sweet.hopefully you keep doin them…
I will! Thanks

Pro tip : Get a dynamic microphone it does better at picking up sound closer to mic and less background noise. Other than that great video as always.
Appreciate the feedback

Yeah just have to give them what they want and then gradually start tweaking it and suggesting things. Gain their trust first
Amazing video thanks so much 🤙🏼
